IPhoto to Finder title change

Question

It's great that I can give my photo's a title in iPhoto. It's not so great that the title still says something like P2250017.JPG in the pictures>iphoto library>originals>2007>whatever finder folder, since that's where I need to go if I want to upload them to Flickr or something. Do I need to open and then save them in another application, or rename them all in the finder window? It seems like there should be a shortcut.

You're making a lot of sense, but you need to read the iPhoto help! iPhoto is designed to never alter your Original file. So, edits are made on copies, and it holds it's own filename. You can use the Title as a filename on export (see below).
1. First off, a warning: It is strongly advised that you do not move, change or in anyway alter things in the iPhoto Library Folder as this can cause the application to fail and even lead to data loss.
2. The good news is that anything you need to do can be done via the iPhoto Window. There is simply no need to ever root around in the iPhoto Library Folder. Want to get to a file? There are three ways (at least) to get files from the iPhoto Window.
. Drag and Drop: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
(ii). File -> Export: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
(iii). Show File: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.
3. If you want to edit a pic in Photoshop (or any other editor) simply set PS up as a external editor. Go to iPhoto -> Preferences -> General and at Edit Photo: set PS as your editor. Then, when you double click on a pic in iPhoto it will automatically open in PS, and when you save it in PS, it's automatically saved into iPhoto.
