Iphoto two users, instructions not working

My wife and I share a new Macbook. We want to share our iphoto library, and have two users. I have followed apple's instructions (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1198) and it hasn't work.
I has created a disk images. Changed ownerships, and changed permission. Before and after moving the iphoto file. I've tried starting a new iphoto file in the disk image. I still get permission problems when I fast switch to the other user.
I have restarted and it still doesn't work.
Iphoto will tell me there are permission problem, and then fix them. I switch and there are still problems, and then it fixes them again. I set up photostreams in each, and it will tell me the volume is full (there are 200 gb free)
Any solutions?
I called apple care, and they told me to put the file in a public or shared folder, which does the same thing.

How do I uninstall the iphoto update which does not work. ie it tells me my library is locked out and the recommended action by apple does not open the phot library first aid. ? i need to go back to the old iphoto.

Terence, you seem to be the foremost expert on apeture and iphoto and have helped me many times in the past (thanks). I have a question that you may be able to help with (anyone also feel free to take a stab). I use blogger to upload my photos and host my blog (www.sippingespresso.com). I spend hours organzing and editing photos - namely, I will enhance and sometimes alter an image in Apeture. It always saves over the orginal file (at least for viewing purposes), which is fine by me. But then when I go to upload the photos onto blogger it seems to always pull my dull, original image. Obviously, I want the newer, bright, enhanced photo.
I'm one step away from importing them, dragging them out of iphoto and into Photoshop, then editing the files and dragging them back into iphoto, deleting the originals and uploading from there. There HAS to be a better way - please help!! I've already posted far too many boring images without the beauty of Apeture's "auto enhance".

Where is your UME running? On the java engine, on an ABAP system or at a LDAP?
What i want to say is that your user has to gain the rights to connect to the SLD. Easiest way is to give you admin rights - to do that you have to know where your userstore is running....
I am not sure if this is correct http://localhost:50000/sld
Normally it should look like http://my.sap.com/56600/sld where my.sap.com is a fqdn and 56600 is the port of the java engine. 66 ist the system number of the as java.
ZBAPI? I do not really know but i think you have to use a jco to connect...

Navigating through photos in single-photo view in iphoto with trackpad is not working after installing new OS Mountain lion

I have recently download new OS Mountain lion on my macbook (white late 2010 model). I had snow leopard before.
On iphoto, when i was viewing my photos in a single-photo view (double clicking on a photo), i was unable to go to the next photo/previous photo using my trackpad. Only way i could do this was by pressing arrow buttons on my key board.
If i remember correctly, i was able to do this by using 3 fingers (sliding left to right or sliding right to left) on snow leopard.
I can navigate back and foward on my internet browser using two fingers. And yes, i have tried using my two fingers on iphoto but nothing happens.
I have checked my trackpad setting and everything seems to be right.
Any ideas how i could fix this?

This works here - but I'm on iPhoto 11. IIRC it worked on 09 too though.

IPhoto Library Upgrader is not working for me.

I am running a Mac Mini 2.5 GHz Core i5. (This is the base model of the current Mac mini as of August 2013.) Running 10.8.4.
I am trying to get iPhoto to run with an old photo library from iPhoto 4. (Yes, really. It's a long story.) I was happy to see that Apple put out iPhoto Library Upgrader, because I was expecting to have a hard time upgrading. But it's not working for me. I downloaded the Upgrader and ran it (several times). However, when I try to start iPhoto from the old library, I still get the "To open your library with this version of iPhoto, it first needs to be prepared."
To save you from asking the obvious questions:
1. I ran the Upgrader, instead of just downloading it.
2. I am sure I selected the old library to be upgraded.
3. The Upgrader runs, tells me it's done, and asks me if I want to launch iPhoto. When I say yes (or when I just launch iPhoto separately), I get the error message again.
4. iPhoto will not let me launch with the command option keys pressed. I still get the error message.
5. I can launch with the option key pressed, but if I select the old library, I get the error message.
6. I can import the old library, but then I lose all my organization of photos.
Any ideas will be appreciated.

Try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder (Snow Leopard and Earlier).
or with Lion and Mt. Lion from the User/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto/
Data/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder
3 - launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and try to open the "upgraded" libraryu again.
NOTE 1: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
NOTE 2: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.

Add photos to iphoto in mail will not work

As above the save/add photos to iphoto will not work in mail. I have all the software up to date and this is a feature i always use, until now?
Has anybody got any suggestions please?

This has been reported by other Users, and I notice it myself. It is apparently a bug with the latest update they sent out for ML. In the meantime I am right clicking on the photo in email, selecting Save to Desktop, and from there dragging the photo into iPhoto successfully. A slow workaround, but hopefully we won't have to do this for too long before a bug fix.

User index not working as expected..

we have a ldap to which two instances running on two diff boxes are connected, there are approx 4000 users and all these users show up in instance one but for some strange reasons only 1000 odd users show up in instance two, ldap has been configured accordingly for maxhits....the ume index on the instance two was deleted and recreated but has not solved the prob...instance one is ep6 and instance two is ep7.0 ? can anyone who knows what might have gone wrong throw some light on this please ?

Thanks for the reply Scott, I have just had one of those Homer Simpson Doh! moments. I was copying the code into this post and then realised that I was actually using the value of the username item that has changed in the first parameter which attempts to get the userid:

Airdrop with yosemite on two mac's not working

After upgrading my two mac's (iMac late 2009 and MacBook Air 2012), AirDrop does not work anymore. The two mac's are in the same WLAN.
With Mavericks it worked perfectly!

I am experiencing the same problem.
We have two macs, a 2012 MacBook Pro and a mid-2011 iMac. Airdrop worked fine with both machines using Mavericks.
Since upgrading to Yosemite, Airdrop still works with the MacBook Pro, but not the iMac. In fact, the iMac does not even show the two clickable links at the bottom of the Airdrop Finder window that say "Allow me to be discovered by..." and "Don't see who you're looking for..."
Bluetooth is turned on. We're on the same Wi-Fi network. No Firewall. I created a test admin user account and the problem persists.
Even spoke with Apple tech and they couldn't help.
Any suggestions?

Change User password not working in SAP ME 6.0

In SAP ME 6.0 SP01 6.0.1.0 Counter 40, the activity "Change User Password" does not work for me or any other user.
The activity window (Netweaver) shows, but in the top it says "An error occurred - contact system administrator".

Change User Password screen is in fact user self services screen of NW UME and to access it, user must have Manage_My_Password action. Installation and Security Guide ask to assign this action to all roles.

Two report join not working

I have two reports: Lead History(registered reciepents) and Campaign Reciepents History(email click-thru reciepents) with columns Full Name, Company/Account Name, and Job Title. I want to do a join that pull out the click-thru's that registered. Union and Union All gives me everything, Minus gives me just the click-thru's, and Intersect gives me nothing. What complicated join can I do to make this possible?

First, you are right - I am using the 17" MacBook Pro (but not the ltest version).
Second, I looked in the Library folders and found Sidetrack in the Startup items. I deleted it (although I had already removed it from the Startup items in the System Preferences.
Third, I reset the PRAM.
However the 2-finger scrolling is still not working. I did notice (and I don't know if this is something new) that the cursor is now immobile when trying to use two fingers although it is fine with one finger. It as though the trackpad recognizes that two fingers are different from one, but it doesn't know what to do with two-fingers.
On a more general note, thank you all for your interest and quick responses. But...what should I try next? Apple suggests resetting the Power Management.
