IPhoto: unable to send with built-in email share option

i've only been able to send and share photos from iphoto using the external Mail app. (going into iphotos general prefences and changing it to Mail.) However, at times i want to use some of the snazy built in stationary options iphoto has to send pix to friends and family.
when "share photos using iPhoto" is selected, iPhoto always gives me an offline error message. i've tweeked the settings and made sure everything matches that of the Mail app, but it still doesnt work.
anyone have similar issues? resolutions?
OS 10.8
iPhoto 11 v. 9.3.2

Mail has more (and many think better) stationary templates than iPhoto. In iPhoto go to the iPhoto preferences ==> accounts and delete the account and re-enter it and try again

  • "Unable to send mail" using Verizon email account

No matter what I try, my Incredible will not send an email using my Verizon email account. I receive emails but cannot send. I've verified the account settings numerous times and the verifications always work. But I still get the "Unable to send mail" message. Initially I thought it was the port but I've tried both 25 and 587. Neither work. I know I've sent messages before but it's been a while. Anyone have any ideas?

I tried SSL with 25 and 587 (Verizon recommendation). Still no go.
BTW, there isn't any way to save the Mail size limit and Download options is there. Every time I go thru this I have to go back and set these up again.
    Thanks again for your help.

  • Iphoto unable to send mail

I cannot send emails from iphoto. I used already three different mail adresses but was unable to send it, everytime I tried I received a message that it was unable to sent the mail because the server didn´t responded, anybody an idea what´s wrong?
    thx
    Tom

Unless something new has popped up in ML you can resolve this by deleting the account in the iPhoto preferences ==> accounts and re-entering it
    Or
IMHO a better solution is to make Mail your e-mail client in the iPhoto preferences

  • Unable to send a photo via email

I am currently trying to sending a photo via email from I-photo, I get the following message ====  The email server didn’t recognize your username/password combination.
    Can anyone please advise ?????

    iPhoto Menu ->
    Preferences ->
    Accounts ->
Delete and recreate your email settings.
Alternatively, use Apple's Mail for the job. It has Templates too - and more of them.

  • I can't send with non-icloud email address

I'm on OS X 10.9.1, and can't send emails using a non-icloud/mac email address, in Mail. I can recieve emails addressed to my non-mac email address.
I've had this problem for several years, and there didn't seem to be a solution to start with. I was hoping the issue might have been fixed by now, but I still haven't been able to find a way to configure Mail so that it will work.
This is very annoying, because the non-mac email address matches my website and my email signature, so it is irritating that I don't look professional when sending or replying to emails for my business. It also makes automatically organising emails into mail boxes (work and personal) impossible.
In preferences > accounts > account info, I have both addresses separated by a comma. I can't see anywhere else I can put it.
I'd be very grateful for any wisdom on this!

If you migrated from MobileMe, try deleting the e-mail account in your mail preferences and adding it back again. You will only be required to enter your password and the ID, the setup should add the correct settings and hopefully this will resolve your problem.

Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

  • ICloud mail server - Unable To Send With Apple Mail client

    OS X 10.10.2
    Mail v 8.2
    iCloud mail
I am still able to receive messages but suddenly unable to send. Messages stay stuck in Outbox.
Mail Connection Doctor reports no problems:
If I setup MS Outlook for Mac 2011 with this iCloud account, I am able to send and receive like a champ.
Once it starts working, is there a way to change the outgoing mail server to use SSL, i.e., turn SSL to "ON" ?

Yes, I did. It doesn't show up in the logs because, I'm unable to send a message - it goes to the outbox immediately. And this led me to the conclusion below.
And by the way, I did get in touch with Apple Support who went through a number of troubleshooting scripts (including trying to use GMail's mail servers) and ultimately had me reinstall OS X from scratch. None of this worked.
Now this problem of being unable to send mail via my iCloud account, from the Apple Mail client, started only around the end of Feb. What I finally figured was that iCloud mail was using random ports on my machine to invoke its SMTP port. Everytime I would disable the firewall on my router completely, iCloud mail was able to send just fine. Recall that incoming was (and still is) working fine. Anyway, I installed wireshark to ID the ports that were being used when the firewall was down. I set up triggers on my router to open these up, turned on the firewall, but it just isn't working. I will have to play around with wireshark and see if I can figure out what ports need to be opened. Unless you or someone else knows. If I figure it out, I will post it here. Mind you, that I need to figure out not only the source ports that need to access port 587 but also what the real target port is (because I don't think it is just 587 as Apple claims).
By the by, when I asked the Apple Technician (some guy who I was transferred to after 3 other people - the one who asked me to reinstall Yosemite) if there was a way to change the outgoing mail server to use SSL, i.e., turn SSL to "ON", he said no there wasn't and why would one need to secure the traffic to Apple's SMTP server anyway? Seriously?

  • Unable to send with Apple Mail

I have two accounts set up on my Apple Mail, one is a Microsoft Exchange Server account and the other is a gmail account. Both have worked fine, sending and receiving since I set them up months ago. As of two days ago, neither will send, though both receive. Both will send through their respective web sites, mail.university.edu and mail.google.com. When I attempt to send a message, mail takes a while trying to send, and then I receive the message: Cannot Send Message Using Server (fill in either gmail or exchange server). Also, I haven't changed any settings in my mail preferences. I'm out of ideas, so any help or ideas is appreciated.

  • Just updated to Photoshop Elements 12 and am unable to send photo via Adobe email.service. I am unable to get a verification code via email to be able to continue the email transmission.

How do I get a verification code which I need to send photo via email from Photoshop Elements 12?  Instructions say that I'm to receive verification code via email but none arrived.

    Thank you very much.

  • IPhoto unable to connect with network

    Hello,
When I try to email a photo directly via "share" in iPhoto (9.2.3) I get the message:
"Your email did not go through because
    the server did not reply"
I trashed the plist and restarted iPhoto, and it worked normally. More than once (I tested it).
Then it happened again after downloading photos from an SD card (directly from the SD slot
in the side of my iMac)
I have been doing this for years without problem, but what is new is that I just got a new camera,
a Canon T3 DSLR, with a new card, a Pro Master 8GB high speed (has the markings: SD HC I with
    a 1 inside looks like a U.
Could this glitch be due to tha camera or tha card? If I throw out the plist, it works again, until it
doesn't (bit of a pain to repeatedly do this).
    any ideas??--Thanks!
    Dave

Sorry but this is not at all clear
    The stated problem
When I try to email a photo directly via "share" in iPhoto (9.2.3) I get the message:
"Your email did not go through because
    the server did not reply"
THe stated solution and the standard solution that virtually always resolves this problem
in the iPhoto preferences ==> accounts delete your e-mail account and reenter it
    OR
IMHO the better solution is to set Apple mail as the email client in the iPhoto preferences
    You said
    Apple mail is my client
    I ask (with no answer)
So is Mail working properly except when you come from iPhoto?
    Then you say
But I had iPhoto set as the preferred "client" and so
    the iPhoto share functions worked.
Which contridicts your previous statement that you are using Apple Mail as you remail client and contridicts your initial statement that you could not email photos
So I have no idea in the world where you are or what you are doing
    So
Are you haveing a problem? If so exaclty what? what email client is set for iPhoto to use in the iPhoto preferences? If it is iPhoto have you deleted and re-entered yoru account information as suggested?

  • Unable to send, but can receive email

Having Outlook Express problem. Can receive mail, but not send.  Server post settings are POP3 outgoing is 995., and SMTP sending setting is 25.  I think that is wrong. What should it be?

These are the correct settings for using email clients like OE with Comcast email-------------------

Comcast no longer supports the use of port 25.

  • Mailx command unable to send mail to internal email server

    Hi,
I am trying to send mail from my shell program registered as concurrent request in R12 its working fine for external server like (gmail, yahoo, hotmail etc) but when Im trying to send mail to internal mail within organization it fails. It does'nt error out though. Our dba has been working on the same but no luck. Any inputs will be of great help.
echo "Mail"|mailx -s "Test Mail from DEV" "[email protected]" ( fails within internal domain)
echo "Mail"|mailx -s "Test Mail from DEV" "[email protected]" ( successfully sends mail within external domain)
I tried disabling the dns resolution for public sites in the configuration file (/etc/resolve.conf) but no luck. Thanks in advance.
    Thanks,
    Ahmed

Thanks Koushik for your prompt reply. You mean the configuration file /etc/resolve.conf right? Here you go. If I comment all the below lines the mail does not work even for external sites as well.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------resolve.conf-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    search companymaildomain.com
    nameserver aa.aa.aaa.a
    nameserver bbb.bb.bb.b
Here first line has the company domain
second and third line is the ip address of primary and secondary dns server
    Thanks,

  • Unable to send or reply to emails

I am continually getting an error message when I attempt to reply to or send emails. 'An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts (#5.7.1). Please check the message recipient xxxxxxxx and try again'. After this message, Thunderbird attempts to connect to my broadband provider but nothing happens. I have had a variety of error messages prior to this and I am getting more than annoyed. My broadband provider email platform has the same settings and works fine, so does the email on my tablet and my phone. My broadband provider support say it is a Thunderbird issue. Can someone advise please? Thank you.

Thanks for the reply. Not really sure if this is right but I've checked the POP mail server authentication settings and it set to 'password transmitted insecurely', but then there are four other options - Encryted password, Kerberos/GSSAPI, NTLM and TLS cert. I do have a password. Is that what you mean?
