IPhoto updated to 9.6 to be used with Yosemite but not working.

I upgraded my macbook pro software to Yosemite, and upgraded all my apps, including I Photo, in order for them to be compatible with Yosemite. However when I go to open I Photo it has a no entry sign around it and says I must upgrade as it isn't compatible. It is the most up to date version available but when I go to 'get info' for the app, it says it's version is 9.5. Although as far as myself and the app store are aware it has been upgraded and is 9.6! all apps are fully up to date. So confused, I've googled it and done everything I can think of and no one else seems to have this problem, Please help!!!!

Move the iPhoto 9.5 application to the Trash, then restart the App Store and sign into the store with your apple ID. Open the "Purchased" tab.
What does the button besides "iPhoto" say? If you see "Install" , let it install again. If it says "Open", click "Open" to run.
If you can get iPhoto to run this way, ctrl-click the Dock icon and click "options > Show in Finder", to see, where it is installed.

I have an ipad 1 that was jailbroken and i downloaded an app and pressed a lot of buttons and then my iPad was locked. I cant unlock it so how do i reboot it when the computer i usually use with it is not currently working? I really need help!

IPhoto says "installing" in app store, on iMac with Yosemite, but it never gets installed.

I have an older iMac, 24" from the late 2009 era, have upgraded to Yosemite, but now iPhoto won't open. It says that I need to go to the app store and install the new version. When I do that very thing, iPhoto says, "Installing" in the gray box that used to say Install, but it never seems to finish installing. What can I do to fix this?

Start over.
Find iPhoto on the Launch Pad, hold down on it, till the LaunchPad items start to wiggle, then click the cross to uninstall iPhoto.
Restart your Mac, then try to install iPhoto again.

Please boot unit to Bios using F10 key once unit is powered on go to Diagnostics check if the Hard Drive is getting detected. If not getting detected reseat the HDD & check if not issue with HDD & Solt of HDD.
If the HDD is getting detected under Bios please run the HDD test check if that passed.
Then under system configaration change the Boot order to CD/DVD to be First.
Insert the CD restart the unit or press Esc Button unit should detect the RCD in drive and give you the recovery option still does not work issue with DVD/HDD.

-variable wb stands for wordbreak allowed i.e if set to false, a word should be printed as it is without splitting even if the maxchar limit is crossed, but then the next word should come on the next line.

Using my MS Office with Yosemite: will it work?

I got a warning that if I update to Yosemite my MS Office software won't work? I'd really like to upgrade, but I'm a writer and EVERYTHING is in Word!

You can use Office 2011 with Yosemite, but not Office 2004. You would need to upgrade. See App Compatibility Table - RoaringApps.
Office 2004 and Other Applications Don't Work
If you have Office 2004 which is a PPC-only suite, it will not work post-Snow Leopard. You need to upgrade to Office 2011 - Mactopia - or you can try the freeware suite, Libre Office, that is functionally similar to Office 2007 for Windows except it works on Lion/Mountain Lion.

An iPhone backup to a computer via iTunes stores the photos in a backup file that is only meant to be be used if needed to restore back to the phone. There is 3rd party "extractor" software available but otherwise the photos are not directly viewable.
The backup via iTunes was a good idea and your Camera Roll photos should be there and should be able to be restored to your new phone. However if it was me I wouldn't rely on that alone. I would also import the photos to a computer where you can see and verify that you have a copy. That is a good idea at any time (not just when you know you might need it). Any phone can be lost, broken, suffer hardware issues, etc at any time and lose all data on it. I have quite a few very sophisticated Keynote 5 presentations and I would hate to have to go through and re-do them if forced to work in Keynote 6.

No problems yet, but I just ordered a new iMac Retina with Yosemite pre-installed (I assume) for my wife, who uses Keynote and absolutely hated KN6 that auto-displaced her KN5 when i inadvertently updated her system to Mavericks.
Fortunately, I was able to re-install KN5 and it runs fine in Mavericks, so far. Looks like I will be doing the same with Yosemite, if you are correct. For an experienced KN5 user, KN6 should not have had a steep learning curve. But it did. And to top things off, KN5 presentations my wife built in the past averaged 500mb file sizes compared with a KN6 presentation she built with a similar number of slides and photo content that sized out at 17GB!!! That was really nice. You have to wonder if anyone at Apple knows what they are doing?

Yes. get a computer with iTune 10.5 and:
- Transfer iTunes purchases to the computer:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
- Transfer other stuff using a third-party program like one of those discussed here. Most are good for music. It is harder to find one for other stuff like synced photos.
Copy music from Ipod to new computer...: Apple Support Communities
- Connect the iPod to the computer and make a backup by right-clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and selecting Back Up
- Restore the iPod from backup and sync as neccessary.

After I updated to iOS 7.0.2 my lock button is not working properly I push the button many times and after many failed attempts it locks and sometimes not. I had to use the accesibility tool to lock it manually from the screen, this is really annoying.

I do not understand why this is happening, could anyone help me resolve this issue it is very frusterating that I can not enable facetime or imessage.

I could do that, however when I select the icloud button (or whatever the heck it is) I am asked to enter the apple id and password. So if you are suppose to create another one for icloud you'd think it would give you the option at this point which would be logical.
