iPhoto  upgrade wont install, and tells me to install from the purchases tab. That wont work either and I get this message
What can be done?

Have you checked your network and fire walls? Disabled helper apps like Little Snitch?

i downloaded .dmg file and it wont install. I can get all the way to the Selection Destination window and I cant download it because it says "You cannot iPhoto Update 6.0.1 on this volume. An eligible iPhoto application was not found in the location / Applications/iPhoto.app."
iPhoto.app is in my applications folder so why cant i install the update?

Do you have iPhoto 6 installed, or a previous version like 5.0.4? The 6.0.1 update requires iPhoto 6.

  • CS3 wont install

hi i had to reinstall my OS. yet agian and now my CS3 upgrade wont install , it dosent give an error message it just says on the crappy little window that there were errors installing and errors in the shared components.
any one had this prob. or can you point me in the right direction,
    much respect,
    jimmy

I had my worst software install nightmare ever with CS3 Master Collection on Windows on a new AMD Phenom 4 Windows XPSP3 machine I built recently, for the specific purpose of fast video editing using Adobe products.
(It was incredible, because I started out a while back using CS3 web premium on an AMD64 Windows XP machine and never had any problems at all).
Anyway, all up it took about 30 hours of extreme agony to sort out, and what seemed to help was:
kb 401401,  kb 401528,  but what seemed to finally fix it all was looking at the massive install log text doc and doing a find on "AdobeError" which revealed a  1603 code on the file : C:\windows\system32\spool\divers\color\srgb color space profile
Luckily I eventually found some great info on another web forum that said to unlock the folder and file, by downloading and using a utility from http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/   this utility once downloaded and ran unlocked the folder and some files in it, and then everything suddenly came good when i did a full uninstall, abobe cleanup utility, and a full reinstall.
Thank God for Google.  (and as much as I loathe to say it, Microsoft, whose software never has any of these nasty push you to the limits install problems).

  • IPhoto upgraded - now can't see photos

I have Mountain Lion on an iMac and have got 10.8.2 installed and iPhoto 11 (9.4.1).
There are 2 users. My wife and me.
After the iPhoto upgrade following installing 10.8, I got the message that the library needed to be upgraded and that earlier versions of iPhoto would not be able to read it. I duly clicked upgrade and everything works perfectly.
My wife did the same thing and her library was upgraded but now she can see nothing. The file structure is there - all the events and albums but they are just black squares. If you open an album, the photos are just black squares but if you click on 'info' all the picture data is there including locations shown on the map for the pictures with gps data. Her library still contains 15gb of data.
The same applies when opening in Aperture.
I have no idea what is going on or how to fix it and would appreciate any help. Thanks

Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to rebuild the thumbnails. It can take 3 or 4 goes for this to work

  • How do I reinstate my free iPhoto upgrade after having to install new hard drive

    All I get is
iPhoto is already installed on this computer. Choose Software Update from the Apple menu to check for available updates.
Now All I get is iphoto crashing !!!!!

You need to have iPhoto 11 v9.6 (which you can get from the App Store) to use iPhoto on Yosemite. If you already have iPhoto 11 then the update is free. Otherwise it's a purchase.

Hello and thanks for the reply.
I tried the original install and the next installer v3.2, then tried to license and update.
no go on either. The app freezes up on the serial number screen.
Also when I run the updated from the link I get an error stating I already have a newer version.

  • IPhoto upgrade will not install after downloading Yosemite

iPhoto will not upgrade after installing Yosemite.

Ok so here's what you gonna do. (had this problem myself today, and after some fiddling figured out what to do.)
Find your old iPhoto with a cross through it, right-click it and select 'show package contents'. A folder will open. In that folder go to Contents>MacOS and there will be three little things there. Click on the one called 'iPhoto' and terminal will open. Leave terminal open and wait four seconds and VOILA! iPhoto opens. Leave terminal open until you are finished with iPhoto, because if you close terminal, iPhoto will close with it. THX! ENJOY! Hope it works.
    P.S.
You can close terminal once you close iPhoto. I also suggest backing up your iPhoto library while you can.

  • Iphoto still grayed out after iphoto upgrade after mavericks install, what should I do?

After upgrading to mavericks Iphoto was Grayed out. The computer Notified me that I would have to upgrade iphoto from 9.2.1 to to latest version.
went to the mac app store, the upgrade page showed the iphoto upgrade, it downloaded and installed the upgrade but iphoto is still grayed out in the dock and in the applications folder. The mac app store shows the iphoto upgrade as being installed. whot should I do?

First, make sure the new copy of iPhoto was not installed as a separate icon in your Applications folder.
If that's not the case, try launching it anyway; I've seen instances where the icon fails to update until the associated application is launched for the first time.

it wont install because it says the network resourse im trying to use is unavailable
Which particular .msi file (or files) does the message (or messages) go on to say cannot be found? (Several different .msi files might be mentioned in this context: itunes.msi, bonjour.msi, AppleSoftwareUpdate.msi, etc.)

  • Iphoto wont install the update from the App store

I installed Yosemite on my imac mid 2010.  Went to the iphoto which stated I needed to update.  When I went to updates it was showing no updates needed.  I then even found iphoto and pressed install and now it seems to just freeze on the install as it just keeps showing installing.   Any help?

    Terence and Peter,
I have iPhoto 9.1.5 which was installed on my iMac that I received November, 2011.
My wife has the 9.2.1 version of iPhoto on her MacBook Pro which she bought months before I bought my iMac.
My iPhoto library opens fine in 9.1.5 on my iMac but will not open the copy of her iPhoto library that I copied to my iMac. We have two libraries and I want the same one she has instead of two separate libraries.
I went to the Mac App Store and downloaded iPhoto9.2.1 Update.dmg to my desktop.
I then opened the .dmg and clicked on the iPhoto9.2.1Update.pkg.
The install iPhoto Update window started to open briefly before the Alert message "The version of iPhoto installed on this Mac must be updated through the Mac App Store. Check the Mac App Store to see if an update is available" appeared.
I checked the MAS and found this link and this is what I downloaded: http://support.apple.com/downloads#iPhoto%209.2.1

  • IPhoto Upgrade Problem Version 8.1.2 to iPhoto 9 (iLife 11)

    Hello,
I have purchased the iPhoto upgrade from the Mac App Store ($15) and currently have iPhoto version 8.1.2 installed on my computer. I would have thought that the upgrade would have pushed or automatically upgraded my existing iphoto version; however, it just appears to be queued in the Mac App store. When I look in the Mac App Store Purchases tab, I can see the Purchase, but I still have version 8.1.2 installed on my computer. Am I overlooking something? Thanks for the help!
    Philip

Make sure the installer isn't paused in LaunchPad, and/or the App Store
    Regards
