Iphoto uploader error

I'm attempting my first upload from iPhoto to Facebook. The first step is to Set Up a connection to my Facebook account. I enter my Facebook credentials, and iPhoto responds with this error:
"An error occurred with iPhoto Uploader. Please try again later."
When I try again, iPhoto starts over with Set Up. So it appears the initial connection to Facebook is failing.
I'm running iPhoto '09 (8.1.2) on Mac OS X 10.6.4.

Apple may not be responding to this bug because they want people to use their iCloud service (which has easily synced connections with iPhoto for posting photos/galleries on a cloud website for others to see).  However, they should acknowledge that almost everyone uses Facebook -- and it is a royal pain in the *** when you can't easily upload photos from iPhoto onto Facebook.
HELP!  (Ps - just posted a similar question to this original posting...) Didn't search hard enough on these support forums before I posted my own question.
Hope to find an answer soon!  ARGH!

  • IPhoto Uploading Error!

The last few times I have tried to upload new photo's from an SDHC card to iPhoto it has given me an error response sating that it could not read some jpg files and a window pops up showing the list of jpeg files/mov files it did not upload.
When it promts me to decide whether I want to keep the photo's I uploaded on the card or delete.....I respond Keep Originals on the SDHC card.
What I then have to do after the initial upload is complete.... is click on the SDHC card in iPhoto to reread the card and upload the unreadable files it stated it could not upload.
So I repeat the above process serveral times until all the photo's on the SDHC card are completely updated. Otherwise all my photo's do not get uploaded ...
Why can't iPhoto upload all the photo's on the card all at once without the error promts? If I didn't know any better I could have assumed all photo's were uploaded and clicked on delete photo's on the card after the initial upload was complete.
Very Scary... Can someone explain why this issue occurs during uploads?

Is your Library on an external disk? What format is that disk?

  • IPhoto upload error for printing. First two books successful. This one fails.

I have successfully developed two iPhoto books in the past, however, the third book goes through the entire process of uploading and then indicates 'error'. This book is 46 pages long which should not be a problem.
    Any suggestions?
    Thank you.

Thank you. This solved my problem and the book uploaded successfully.
    All the best,

  • I'm in iphoto loop with Facebook that says there's a problem with IPhoto uploader. Try again later"  It's an eternal loop and no matter what it puts me back to Setup to publish IPHOTO every time and then will not publish.

I'm in an Iphoto loop with iPhoto uploader error and Facebook.  I cannot post to Facebook as it sends me back to setup again and then says there is an error with iPhoto uploader.  "Try again later"  This has been going on since I joined Facebook.  Cannot figure out what to do

have you tried posting this question in the iPhoto forum? https://discussions.apple.com/community/ilife/iphoto

Do you mean trying to purchase an iPhoto book?  Try rebooting and ordering again.  If that fails Boot into Safe Mode, Mac OS X: Starting up in Safe Mode, and try ordering from there.

I'm experiencing the same problem. I accidentally deleted the iPhoto Uploader app from FB and now I can't get it back on there. I don't have the apps and games blocked in my security settings and everything looks like it should work. This is driving me crazy! I was half way through uploading some new pics to FB when I did it too.
I'm confident the problem is at FB. iPhoto has never done me wrong and even so, I deleted all the preference files and deleted and reinstalled iPhoto itself even. None of that has worked and none of the solutions that come up online seem to work either.
There needs to be a way to recover deleted apps on FB or simply reinstall them. I lost my twitter app when I lost the iPhoto Uploader and didn't have a problem getting it back on there so FB's programming is clearly not communicating very nicely with apple/iphoto's attempts to reinstall and "set-up" the uploader.
Thanks for any help out there!

  • Facebook uploader error

when i try to upload a photo from iphoto n start up always show this error
An error occurred with iPhoto Uploader. Please try again later.

    Howdy,
I didn't resolve the problem but I was able to get around it by upgrading to iPhoto 11. It will cost you a little money but it is a nice layout and I can upload to FB again with no problem. I would suggest an alternative fix that I never got to try out before I upgraded. If you have access to another Mac, go into iPhoto on it, and try to upload a picture to your FB account from there. The set-up process might initiate the application upload to FB that you aren't able to do on your other Mac. Once the App is back in FB, you should theoretically be able to upload photos again. It's worth a try if you don't want to upgrade iPhoto.
    Good luck!

  • Upload Error message: HTTPS protocol is not supported

    Hi,
Whenever I do a quick par upload i'm getting an 'Operation failed' message to check sap-plugin.log.
       Log says
Upload Error message: HTTPS protocol is not supported, please ensure this server is not using HTTPS. My webdynpro applications are getting deployed without any issues.
         How to resolve this?
    Thanks
    Sumathi

    Hi Sumathi,
As there are often problems with the Quick PAR Upload reported, I would suggest to use the "normal" PAR upload from the icon tray (you have to activate the portal icons in the icon tray). That is almost that "quick" (one or two clicks more needed, we don't talk about more than a second) and - it works (it least it should, and at least it works in most cases even if the Quick PAR Upload fails).
    Hope it helps

My backend is only for admin, so they are the only ones who can access the
upload pages. My concern is an images folder on the site being 777. Can't
anyone from the outside plant a file in that folder if they just know where
to find it using an ftp program? ?

Unless you have the source files that were on the TC or Windows machine you will have to start over with a new library as follows:
Start over from scratch with new library
Start over with a new library and import the Originals (iPhoto 09 and earlier) or the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from your original library as follows:
    1.  Move the existing library folder to the desktop.
    2. Open the library package like this.
    3. Launch iPhoto and, when asked, select the option to create a new library.
    4. Drag the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from the iPhoto Library on the desktop into the open iPhoto window.
This will create a new library with the same Events as the original library but will not keep the metadata, albums, books slideshows and other projects.  Your original library will remain intact for further attempts at fixes is so desired.

  • ERROR upload: Error in uploadXMLFiles after upgrading from 10.2.0.4

After upgrading from 10.2.0.1 to 10.2.0.4 on a newly installed Oracle server, I could not use dbconsole any more. It would not display the login page at http://myserver:1158/em. I tried different browser IE, FireFox, and Chrome. It is the same. Then I checked the %ORACLE_HOME/{server_sid}/sysman/log/emagent.trc and found this errors in it:

I tried emctl secure, upload, start and stop many times. It is still the same. It is a new server and a new database. Any idea?
    TIA!

I did not change password. It is not password issue.
    According to Oracle support,
    1) the error "2010-02-04 14:11:50 Thread-352 ERROR upload: Error in uploadXMLFiles. Trying again in 60.00 seconds" can be ignored.
    2) The error: 2010-02-05 02:52:19 Thread-3864 ERROR util.files: nmeufile_remove D:/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/orsvp04.OCTAGONRESEARCH.COM_vp/sysman/recv\00000000365.lk: Error in lfidlb. Error = 0 (No error)
could be because I used "emctl start agent" , which are not allowed command for DBconsole. The correct one is "emctl start dbconsole"
    Thanks for your input!

  • Picassa iPhoto uploader doesn't work in iPhoto 08 anymore

    Hi
I post some of my photos on Picassa. With iPhoto 07, no prb: I downloaded the Picassa iPhoto uploader, and from iPhoto, I used to be able to export my albums easily. But I upgraded to iPhoto 08 few days ago, and just realized there's a bug, and the Picassa uploader doesn't work anymore: after formatting the pictures, the process freezes during the 'Create Album' step, my mac fan starts to run crazy, and I have to cancel the operation. I deleted and reinstalled the uploader, same thing. I can still use the uploader to load picture in Picassa from Finder directly, but I think it was easier and sleeker to do it from iPhoto. I'm disappointed to find such a bug. Has anyone else met that problem with Picassa, or with any other uploader? Is there a solution?
    Thanks
    Laurent

You'll have to wait until Picasa and the other plugin developers update their plugins to be compatible with iPhoto 7. The ball's in their court.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Transfered photos from IMac with Iphoto 9 to a mac book with Iphoto 11 now Iphoto 09 errors out saying "You can't open your current photo library using this version of iPhoto."

Transfered photos from IMac with Iphoto 9 to a mac book with Iphoto 11 now Iphoto 09 errors out saying "You can’t open your current photo library using this version of iPhoto. You have made changes to your photo library using a newer version of iPhoto. Please quit and use the latest version of iPhoto."  We have not updated or changed anything on the IMac all we did is transfer photos. Any help would be appreciated.

LarryHN is correct. The only way this message occurs is if the iPhoto Library database is upgraded to a newer version.
You could try holding SHIFT-OPT-COMMAND when launching iPhoto from the dock and checking only "Rebuild the iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup" and hope it restores the previous database prior to the upgrade.
If that doesn't work, you can install iPhoto '11 on your iPhoto '09 computer. If I understood the iPhoto '11 Mac App License agreeement correctly, you can install it on any personal, non-commerical computer you own running 10.5, 10.6 and 10.7.
