HELP! I have the latest updated version of OS X Lion, but now my iphoto will not open anymore and keeps telling me to "Update the latest version". SO then i tried to update it again and again, but it just does not work. What do I do?

There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 9 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
- History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
- Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have. -
iPhoto will not open with pictures when I click on the icon. It does show that it is open on top toolbar. What happened to my photos?
Did you run any updaters recently, i.e. like just before this happened? Try this first fix: make a duplicate copy of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your Home/Library/Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file,, Cache.dbt, that is located in your Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - reboot, launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences..

If I download a new iTunes will I lose everything we have?Same issue for me. Was running 10.5.3 due to the bug in 10.6 with Apple TV. Upgraded to 10.6.1 since it was supposed to solve the issues. ANd no I can;t open iTunes at all.
Annoyed that 10.6 was shipped with the bug with the Apple TV sortting of titles.
Really p*ssed off that 10.6.1 which was supposed to fix this has totally borken iTunes for me.
Time to try to revert to 10.5.3 again.

After update to yosemite, I can't open some of my pages documents in the latest version of pages - when I try to open the documents, it says to update to the latest version but I have already done this? Any suggestions on how to solve this?
What steps have you taken to troubleshoot the problem?
Did you reboot your router at home - unplug if from power for about 30 seconds and then plug it in again?
Did you try Forgetting the Network and try to Rejoin? Settings>WiFi>Tap the blue arrow next to your network name>Forget this Network. Restart the iPad and then go back to Settings>WiFi>Tap your network name, enter your password and the tap Join.
Did you try Resetting Network Settings? Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings and start all over again?

I installed this and now it just keeps telling me the same.
Now you have to go to the Applications/Utilities folder and double click on the updater to actually run it.
Deleting a photo from this version is exactly the same as other versions. -

And note that the latest version of iPhoto is 9.5.1 - which is why we ask for the veron and why "latestest" is not any help - expecialy with out knowing the version of the OS -

Try Back up your iPhoto library, Depress and hold the option (alt) and command keys and launch iPhoto - rebuild your iPhoto library database

Firefox 7 will not open in win xp, after being updated from previous version
updated to firefox 7 on win XP. now firefox will not open.
I unstnstalled firefox 7, and re-installed again, but it will not openI have the same problem (and with Mozilla Thunderbird) running with Windows Vista OS. The non-opening problem was preceded by a long period where Firefox and other programs were taking absurdly long times, such as one minute, to open. Starting Windows in "safe mode with networking" solves the problems. Similarly, I just found that If I run msconfig.exe and select "diagnostic startup" then Firefox and Thunderbird both start and start up really fast (that is, when most services and startup programs are prevented from starting). However there is no network so they do not connect. I then turned on (in msconfig) enough processes to get networking running and Firefox and Thunderbird still start up really fast.
I am fairly certain there are no viruses on my computer, so the only other possibility is that some program/registry-entry is preventing the OS from working properly. The problem with windows that it is virtually impossible to find something like this, since the Windows OS has very weak self-diagnostics, and the registry is absurdly complicated with over half a million entries on my computer.
If you can do a "repair install" then this will probably fix the problem, but I do not think that Vista has this feature. Alternatively an upgrade of the OS might fix it, such as from Vista to Windows 7. -
On the homepage of firefox it sayd that I do not have the latest version of firefox. So i desidet to update it, but after that it kept on telling me that I do not have the latest version. I am sure that I have the latest version because I just updated it. Is it possible that the update did not work or is just an advertisement firefox shows to everyone? Modern repair workstations allow the equipped service company to fix complex issues and they do troubleshooting. Sometimes the cost is less than a replacement logic board.

Usually the issue is caused by hardware, especially if there is an indication of machine failure in the crash log or other screen image text.
A working last model MacBook (mid-2010) would be a better 'first mac' to have.
Hopefully you can sort it out.
If not, there likely are fair parts in it.

I just ran my updates for my MacBook Pro and now my iphoto won't open. I get a pop up that say's You can't use this version of the applicaton IPhoto with this version of os x. You have iphoto 9.2.3.
This screenshot shows which previous versions of iPhoto are compatible with Mavericks. It also indicates which versions qualify for a free upgrade to iPhoto 9.5.1 and which require a purchase:
Note 1: every day more users are reporting problems with iPhoto 8.1.2 so I've included it in the non compatible category.
Note 2: If your previous version of iPhoto was iPhoto 7 (08) or earlier you'll need to download and run the iPhoto Library Upgrader 1.1 application on the library before opening it with iPhoto 9.5.1.

You'll need to update to at least ACR 8.2 for the 70D to be recognized. The normal way to update PSE12 to the latest CR is to use Help / Updates in the Editor which should update to ACR 8.5.
According to Adobe's website PSE12 shipped with ACR 8.1 and you say it says yours is reported as ACR 8.0.
Are you using PSE 11 and not 12? PSE 11's maximum ACR version is 8.0. -

Please look in the Applications for the most up-to-date version of Numbers. I suspect you got a free upgrade to OS X Mavericks and also updated your iWorks apps. If that is correct you have two versions of number on the computer, you cannot open a new file with the older version of Numbers, this is what I am guessing you are attempting.

I developed a Flash file (SWF) with a light blue start button, placed it on a web server then went to the URL using Firefox (3.6.8). Later I updated the SWF (changed the button to dark blue), replaced the SWF on the web server, opened Firefox and used Tools/Clear Recent History... to clear the cache. Then when I went to the URL to test the replaced SWF it clearly opened the previous version (light blue button). How can that happen if the previous version no longer exists on the web server? Firefox can only be opening the file from its cache, so why is the file still there if I just cleared the cache?

I had the identical issue with iPhone config Utility on windows 7 64bit.
A virtual macOS on the same machine didn't have a problem, windows iTunes didnt have a problem. Just a glitch with ICU on windows
I tried everything you did and the only thing that fixed it was to change the appID or app name (I forget which I did).
I don't know where that old app data is stored on the machine, but I deleted all apps, uninstalled/reinstalled ICU and it still would populate and install the old ipa.
I also still periodically get weird errors/glitches deploying to iOS on windows.
It's like some days I need to deploy with ICU, sometimes iTunes, sometimes I need to run the VM mac... SOO frustrating.
It always works one way or another, so the app itself is always fine.
I guess I really need to look into that new direct deployment option... -
Hey there just a short update I recently read an article on the community's webpage about sometimes asking cause your new download apps can cause some problems with calendars I had recently downloaded a weather app called AccuWeather for life version 2.1.2. I decided to remove this app from my iPad then proceeded to close my iCloud connection to calendars restarted and found that my calendars now open up except I had no information of course from my calendar appointments I proceeded then to reopen under link to iCloud and it now works. Have noticed that that the AccuWeather app had put on some weather notices for a couple of weeks in the month of November for some strange reason so I will now delete all of those temperature warnings on calendar and retry installing the weather app again to see what happens, will update this forum later.
It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full, unrestricted, access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

First I notice your icon was gone so I figured I'd moved it by mistake. I put it back, but most of my bookmarks were gone. I then noticed I had two icons, one on right side one on left of my Mac. Tried to download new version. Didn't work, went to preview? Weird. Tried the version that's for Yahoo. That seemed to work, my bookmarks were back, but today it says that's an old version and I must update if I want to open something from Firefox from my email. So I did and once again I had two icons on page. It has done this a couple times. So I'm going in circles. I've done nothing new to my less than 3-year-old iMac and have never had this problem or anything remotely like it before.
Did you manage to get it working mine disappeared after I while I managed to download it but now my laptop/iTunes won't recognise my iPhone!
