IPhoto won't keep information when making calendar
I am trying to make calendars again-I've done it before but now I have upgraded to Yosemite which forces you to download iPhoto again. Overtime I select the calendar I want to use as template and select year (24 months) it reverts back to 2010 or another year in the past-It also doesn't seem to give any options for hard or soft copy etc. and even though I want a 24 month calendar it keeps deferring to 12 month. Very frustrating.
Overtime I select the calendar I want to use as template and select year (24 months) it reverts back to 2010 or another year in the past
Does the same happen, if you start with a new calendar and not with an older template?
If it only happens with a copy of an older calendar, try to repair your iPhoto Library.
Try to launch into the First Aid Tools by holding down the key combination option-command ⌥⌘ and clicking the iPhoto icon to launch iPhoto.
Keep the two buttons firmly held down, until you are seeing the First Aid panel.
Then select "Repair database".
If that does not fix it, backup your iPhoto Library and try the other First Aid options as well.

The numbering in (Contents) format keeps changing when making PDF's from Word 2007 ? Using Acrobat 9 Pro Extended.
The issue is that I have made up a contract in Word.
The second page has a list of all contents of the contract.

When we convert to PDF some of the numbers change. Example 20 becomes 201.
Your help is appreciated.

Having installed Aperture, iPhoto won't open. When I try it fails with the message "You can't open the iPhoto.app because it may be damaged or incomplete. Any help please?
OK, fixed it. Found that iPhoto is now BACK in the App store.
Found iPhoto app in Finder and dragged it to Trash.
Downloaded iPhoto from App store and all now back working again.
Didnt expect to find iPhoto in App store as last time I looked it wasn't available.

My iphoto 9.1 keeps crashing when I try to edit/rotate photos, any ideas?
my iphoto 9.1 keeps crashing when I try to edit/rotate photos, any ideas?
It will let me do 1 or 2 and then will show 2 photos at once overlayed and then crash...I look for updates and it says I have the most current version...
any help will be appreciated!
thank you, angelaFirst make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.

Google Calendar keeps loading when making changes - doesn't happen with Chrome.
When I fill in information on Google Calendar edit page (and add or try to change, save or delete an entry, it, it says loading but nothing is happening. If I use Chrome, not Firefox, I have no problem. this is a relatively new occurane as it didn't happen a while ago as Ive been using Firefox since its inception.
Hello,
Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.
Further information can be found in the [[Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox]] article.
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

Photos missing when making Calendar
Hello everyone,
I am in the process of making a couple of calendars. I've noticed that after making some red eye adjustments within my photo library, iPhoto removed that photo within my available photos when making my calendar. I tried "Revert to Original" in the library, thinking that the original was no longer available due to the adjustment. No luck.
Is this an ongoing issue? I've noticed an issue with iPhoto's calendar application being able to recognize all my photos available. I know that all of my files reside in the iPhoto Library file and I handle all my importing through iPhoto. I am stumped, any help is greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the Apple user discussion forums
I've noticed that after making some red eye adjustments within my photo library, iPhoto removed that photo within my available photos when making my calendar.
Exactly what does this mean? How did you make the red eye adjustments?
I assume that the photos no longer show up in the calender - what happens when you drag one of them back to the calendar?
Is this an ongoing issue? I've noticed an issue with iPhoto's calendar application being able to recognize all my photos available.
No - there is no ongoing issue with calendars in iPhoto like this. I suspect that your database is damaged but need to know more about the symptoms you are seeing - I'm not totally clear on what you are seeing - and not seeing

Iphoto won't start ( activly ) when i trying to sync from iphone to imac
iphoto starts only on background when i want to charge and sync my iphone to the imac and if you click f3 it appears but if you click import al iphoto disappears again to the background so i can't upload fotos
Yes, I'm running ESET NOD32. I've disabled NOD temporarily but it still hangs on Calanders when syncing! Any ideas?
Many thanks. There's a couple of alternatives.
Either try the procedure in Samoreen's post:
Re: iTunes 11.1.4.62 freezes while syncing with Outlook
Or, see if you can get hold of the Eset beta addressing the problem. As Samoreen notes in another post:
ESET have a workaround for this issue. They gave me access to a test version of the HIPS module and this fixed the problem. So I could re-enable the ESET_OPTIONS environment variable (although I still consider that it's a questionable idea). I upgraded to iTunes 11.1.5.5 and there was no problem.
So maybe you should get in touch with ESET support and request the new module ? Just send a message to Marcos in the ESET forum.
Re: Outlook 2013 Calendar Sync fails with new iTunes 11.1.5.5 -
My iphone 4 keeps freezing when making calls and the speaker is going
my iphone keeps freezing when i make calls and the speaker is really quiet even at high volume
Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue(s) are resolved.

Getting warning sign when making calendar?
Hello, I am new to iPhoto08, and making my 1st calendar. I have shot all my picutres for the calendar in either 3 or 6 megapix - all in my iPhoto library. I moved the pix into the calendar slot. I notice a few things. Each of the 3mp picutures all have various sizes (mb) though all shot the same way, same day and same settings. Why are they different in size?
My biggest problem is the front cover - I have a 3mp shot that should easily be used for a 10X? calendar. iPhoto has an icon warning -saying it may print poorly. Reason for this? I also get it again with a 3 figure shot, the one that is the bottom half of the page (also 3mp shot).
am I doing something wrong? They look fine on the computer - just worried about it - its going as a gift
thanks

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Since iPhoto uses 170 dpi as the warning point for photos it will depend on the calendar theme used as to whether your photo will get a warning flag or not. The Picture Calendar and Modern Lines themes would have the largest cover photo of 10.3" x approx. 8.24. So to avoid the warning flag you'd need an image of of greater than 1750 x 1400 pixels. 1775 x 1420 does not elicit the warning flag.
If you're close to that size but still getting the warning I don't think it would be that noticeable in the finished product.
Happy Holidays
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file. -
Storm won't keep past Outlook (2003) calendar entries
I have spent @ 10 hours with Verizon support personnel trying to resolve this issue; the issue has been escalated and am waiting for a call from an analyst.
I have changed the option on the device to keep appt's forever. Recently, per a suggestion from Bifocals, I tried a date range transfer: from 1000 days before to 365 days after, with a two way transfer, and notification if a conflict occurs and got this message:
The following changes from Calendar Device will be applied to your Microsoft Outlook data in Calendar:
4100 Deletion(s)
11 Addition(s)
6 Change(s)
The following changes from Calendar Microsoft Outlook will be applied to your Device data in Calendar:
1 Addition(s)
1 Change(s)
I have also tried a one way transfer and have gotten the info onto my phone, but invariably past calendar items disappear from the device and often want to take my Outlook desktop entries with them.
I simply want to be able to keep 3 years of past calendar entries on my device and transfer future appointments that I make on my device to my Outlook desktop calendar when I synchronize the two.
Does anyone have any ideas? Please?
Leigh Ann
Solved!
Go to Solution. You should have a number to contact them back with a case number.
in the meantime, lets get some background info.
1. on the BB, open the calendar. click Menu, and options
next screen you will see Calendars
What do you see underneath ? Now click on each one and tell me the number of entries you see for each one.
(ex:
Device Default = 56
[email protected] = 34
[email protected] = 0)
You dont need to tell me your emails, just use email1, email2, email3 etc
2. now, got back to home screen and go to options- advanced options- default services... which of those previous items is attached to CICAL?
3. options, advanced options, service books... do you see 2 entries of each of your emails?
4. options, advanced options, applications... do you see facebook and what is the version number to the right?
5. plug into DTM(DeskTop Manager) and click on backup/restore- advanced... on the right side, scroll down to calendar
How many entries do you see for "Calendar", and how many do you see for "Calendar All" -
IPhoto won't recognize iPhones when connected
I have iPhoto 8.1.2 on my iMac, and all of a sudden it has stopped recognizing our iPhones when we plug them in. (Have tried three different cables on each of two iPhones - iTunes recognizes them, but iPhoto doesn't.)
Is it failing all of a sudden because it needs an update? I clicked on the button to learn more about iLife 11 from "check for updates" in the menu, but the page it links to says "Hmm, the page you're looking for can't be found." I can't seem to find any other way to update the iPhoto software, and the only way I can figure out to upload my current photos and videos is by e-mailing them to myself from the phone and importing them to iPhoto. There has to be a simpler solution, right?
Additionally, every time I quit iPhoto and restart it with no phone connected, it shows my iPhone under the devices, as if it is connected, with photos and videos waiting to be uploaded (that didn't upload during its last connection because it told me there were errors in the files??), and it is unable to get past that. Once I click to unmount, I can't get either phone to show back up in the device list. (When I connect my digital camera, it still shows up properly in the device list.)
Finally, I recently had my phone's dock connector replaced, so I thought that might have had something to do with it, but it is responding the same way to my phone and my husband's phone, which still has its original connector.
Thank you!

Photoshop CS3 Keeps crashing when making brushes.
I'm not sure what keeps happening, but, When I try to save my brushes as an .abr file, Photoshop crashes, every single time. It works on my laptop which has XP.
I'm currently using Windows Vista Ultimate. 32bit. 2047MB of ram..
I have an Intel premium 4 Processor.
I apologize if this isn't clear, I'm only fourteen.
:3It is a lot clearer than many posts here (
and you included details of you computer and OS). :)
Try resetting the Brush Tool from the fly-out menu. If that doesn't help, reset your PS preferences as described in the FAQ.
http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.ef4a07f/1
You either have to physically delete (or rename) the preference files* or, if using the Alt, Ctrl, and Shift method, be sure that you get a confirmation dialog.
This resets all settings in Photoshop to factory defaults.
*The location of the files is slightly different on Vista but they are .PSP files -

What I successfully used to do: Launch iPhoto; Open a newly created album on the left of its big window; Drag a photo (jpg or tiff) from a system folder on the Desktop on to that iPhoto big window; It appears. I can then switch to another iPhoto album and back again to the newly created iPhoto album and the new photo re-appears as expected.
What happens now: I do the above but when I switch to another iPhoto album and back againback to the newly created iPhoto album (as described above), the photo is missing in iPhoto's big window. I find the missing photo in iPhoto > Recent > Last Import. If I drag it from Last Import on to the newly created iPhoto album (on the left of iPhoto's big window), a new sub-folder is created "untitled album 2" and selected and the image appears in iPhoto's big window. The new photo also appears in iPhoto > Library > Events and Photos. If I delete the new photo from Events and Photos (Delete then CNTRL + click on Trash), it disappears from there but is still in the "untitled album 2" (above). All this is weird behaviour.
If instead I open an already existing iPhoto folder which contains other photos, and drag the same photo into its big window, it is added to that folder in the usual way, with no need to drag it from Last Import and "untitled album 2" is not created created.
Something is seriously wrong here. The App Store says that Version 9.5.1 is the current version.
How can I return to doing what I successfully used to do for many years as described above?
Thanks for any help.I think I have found the answer. What I had done was to create a FOLDER "Summer Holiday 2014" and a sub-FOLDER "Seaside" and a sub-FOLDER in that for my photos. That was the way that did not work.
I have just created an ALBUM "Summer Holiday 2014" and a sub-ALBUM "Seaside". This seems to work.
But suppose I want to create the following hierarchy:
Heading
Sub heading
Sub-sub heading 1
Photos
Sub-sub heading 2
Photos
Which of these four items in bold should be created as folders and which albums?
Here is an image of the above layout in case the indentation did not work: -
Skype keeps crashing when making/receiving a call
When I make a call or receive a call on Skype it crashes. It seems to happen when either party clicks answer. IMs work fine but can't use the program for its main function.
Running Skype 7.0.0.102
Tried reinstalling still experiencing the problem.
Deleting the folder C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Skype does resolve the issue but it is only a temporary solution and not how to run Skype.
Included a DxDiag.txt file.
Solved!

DxDiag.zip 8 KBXSplit software is the only Video Capture device, and most likely conflicts with Skype.

Try to uninstall this application. Perhaps it will just be enough to unregister VHMediaCOM.dll module:

Also, update ASUS Xonar DS Audio Device driver to the currently latest 7.12.8.1794 version.
