IPhoto won't share-icloud system preferences keychain couldn't be set up

My 10.9 OS X iMac cannot share photos in iPhoto... All sharing options are dimmed.
Facebook and Flickr accounts say they're enabled.
My 10.9 OS X iMac cannot connect keychains in the icloud system preferences...
error message
Icloud keychain couldn’t be set up because there was a problem communicating with iCloud
I have signed out of my icloud account… and back in. Reset data in the advanced section.
Deleted many preferences.
I have run the iPhoto utilities at iPhoto startup
I have run the keychain utility.
I have tried creating a new user… all to no avail.
Can I reinstall iPhoto? Or is this Time to reinstall the system? Or both...
Thanks in advance… John

Go to the System/iCloud preference pane on your Mac and make sure all of the items you want to sync/sharte are checked:
If you can't check those boxes or you did and they didn't work, sign out of the account and then back in again.

  • HT4906 In iCloud system preferences why am I not able to select iPhoto Streams?

When I go to turn on Iphoto stream in iCloud system preferences on my MacBook Pro I am not able to select the iPhoto Stream option, and it is the only option that seems to me made unavailable to me.
How do I fix this so my iPhone photos start streaming to my MacBook???

What version of iPhoto are your running?  Do you have Photo Stream enabled in iPhoto?
Log out of iCloud in the System/iCloud preference pane aand log back in.

  • ICloud system preferences won't let me log in

I recently changed my apple ID password and now I can't log in to the icloud system preferences on my iMac or the App Store on my iMac. Everything else is fine with the new password; icloud.com, itunes, ipad, iphone, MacBook Air. Have tried creating a new user account but get the same messages which vary from "unrecognized user or password" to "problem communicating with icloud, try again later."
    Thanks for any help.
    OS X Lion

In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button).
Similarly, you can sign out of the Mac App Store using the sign out option from the store menu.

  • Iphoto won't share photos by email, share file won't open.

iphoto won't share photos by email, share file won't open. what do I do?

Remember: we cannot see your machine. There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 8 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS.  So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Basic things like :
    - What version of iPhoto.
    - What version of the Operating System.
    - Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For instance: 'iPhoto won't export' is best explained by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
    - History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted?
    - Are there error messages?
    - What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
    - Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.

  • Am I going to duplicate Contacts by checking Contacts in iCloud System Preferences?

I moved MobileMe to iCloud last night. At iCloud.com all my contacts are there but they are not syncing. On my Mac, the Contacts box is not checked in iCloud System Preferences. If I check this, am I going to get duplicates of my Contacts, since they are already in Contacts on iCloud.com? If so, can I avoid this somehow?

It will ask if you want to merge them and you should be OK.
If you want to be doubley sure, you might want to select all the contacts (select the first and shift click the last and drag them to your desktop as back up and then delete them from address book before ticking the box and merging.

  • ICloud system preference pane

MacBook OS 10.7.4. The iCloud system preference pane does not open to the settings options - it directs me to Find my iPhone. Settings appear as expected on my iPhone.  My iCloud account is available on iCloud.com. Any suggestions?

I'm not really sure what it is that you are asking, but in case it is relevant, you cannot access iCloud.com from an iOS device. Any iCloud data you wish to access on an iOS device, should be accessed through the appropriate app, such as calendar, contacts etc.

  • Mac Notes won't connect to iCloud; system preferences crash despite fixes tried

I am on 10.8.5, have not updated to Mavericks yet. My Mac for notes doesn't want to connect to iCloud so that my notes will sync between all devices.
I have tried all of the solutions that seemed to work for others, like deleting cache, rebooting, making sure all devices are set to iCloud, typing a new note. I think I remember telling iCloud not to sync notes many years ago but now I do want it to sync and it won't allow.
Here is the error message I get when I click on 'notes' after going to accounts/icloud.

  • Icloud system preferences

I cloud system preferences fails to validate storage server credentials. Ical fails to sign in but I can get information on my account from the system preferences. My system is 10.7.5 on a mac pro 1.1. I am very frustrated I hope someone has a solution.
PS keychain is funky as well I have repaired permissions and reset the ACL as well.

I have the same issue.  I think whatever it is it is related to the fact that the ~Library\Application Support\com.apple.TCC folder is locked and I do not have permission to see its contents.  Looking at the info on the folder, it was created and last written to when I updated to Mavericks last night - and that would also be when my problems started.
Another issue I've noted with Mavericks:  After I displayed my desktop on my television via AppleTV just to test out that cool feature and then disconnected the AirPlay from the AppleTV, all subsequent clicks on the up and down arrows of the AppleTV remote cause the volume of my Mac to increase and decrease correspondingly.

The only thing I can think of might be a corrupted System Preferences .plist file
Home folder > Library > Preferences > com.apple.systempreferences.plist > drag that .plist to the desktop and try System Preferences again.....
A new plist file will be created when you open System Preferences again....

  • Energy Saver won't open in System Preferences

I finally upgraded to Tiger (10.4.11). I want to change my energy saving preferences...specifically to keep my HD from going to sleep (because Tiger decided to override my original settings during install). The problem is that when I choose Energy Saver, I'm informed that 'Energy Saver is loading...', but it never does. The EnergySaver.prefPane file is in its correct location (System>Library>PreferencePanes). 'Get Info' tells me that it's configured to be opened by System Preferences.app. So what the #$@$# is keeping Energy Saver from opening? Not liking Tiger right now.

Hi and welcome to the forums.
Boot from your Install Disc, holding down the C KEY
    1. Select your language
    2. From the Menu Bar, select Utilities>Disk Utility
    3. Select the HD, click the first aid tab
    4. Select Repair Disk. Reboot.
Then from Applications>Utilities>Disk Utility, select the HD and Repair Disk Permissions.
