Iphoto won't start after installation from dvd
Hi.
I installed iphoto 11 from the DVD.
Then, before running it for the first time, I used software update to check for latest updates. I installed them.
Finally I run iPhoto. A window appears telling that if I want to run iPhoto i must install latest version upgrade.
I run software update again but it finds nothing!
What can I do?
Regards
Alberto
Download and apply the iPhoto 9.1 updater and then the 9.3 updater. If that doesn't work delete the application and reinstall it and then go the 9.1 and 9.3 route.

FrancusHello, yogendra k saini
I'd installed oracle90 and 1.2.2 in different oracle homes. There was no error message. When i pressed the icon. Nothing happens.
Yesterday i installed also a 8.1.7 database on the same machine as the 9.0.1.4 database. After a reinstallation of appserv 1.2.2a everything seems to work fine.
but it is still a mystery for me why, because when i only install a 9.0.1.4 database and appserv 1.2.2.2 something goes wrong. Maybe APpserv 1.2.2. doesn't work fine with 9.0 database. That's not exactly true because i used appserv 1.2.2 for forms en reports...

Iphoto won't open after changing from os10.5 to os10.4
hello there
last night i reinstalled os10.4. i have been running leopard, but a program that i want to use is not yet compatible with it.
after installing it, it put all of my documents/files in a folder called 'previous system' on my hard drive. i then moved all the files back to their 'proper' folders (i.e. itunes, documents etc)
i moved the iphoto library and put it in my 'pictures' folder, but for some reason now iphoto won't open..it just bounces once in the dock and then nothing happens....
can anyone help? i've got some really precious photos in my library, and i'd be really gutted if i have lost them...
thanksi'm using 7.1.1

To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store or have a Recent Mac you can find it in your Purchases List. -
GRUB won't start after installation. Boots direktly to Windows 7
Hello,
I am having a hard time installing Arch next to Windows 7 on an UEFI Notebook.
The partitions of the HDD (GPT) looks like this:
sda1 Boot partition, fat32, 400 MiB. Mounted as GRUB Wiki says at /boot/efi
sda2 swap
sda3 Arch
sda4 Windows 7
First I install Windows 7 which workes without problems.
After that is done I start installing Arch. All goes well without any errors till the end.
For installing GRUB I use
grub-install --target=x86_64-efi --efi-directory=/boot/efi --bootloader-id=arch_grub --recheck
and
grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg
Both finish without errors.
First problem is os-prober never mangaged to find Windows 7 by itself. Not once in 6 installation retries.
Second problem. After I finished installtation and rebooting, GRUB doesn't show. It direktly starts to boot Windows.
I'm following the Beginners Installation Guide step by step (except the GRUB part). What am I doing wrong?
Are the Mountpoints wrong?
I don't know which config files you need to help.
Last edited by Peikko (2013-08-13 11:08:55)It did change but only for this session. After a reboot, the order was reset again.
But this is not the problem anymore.
I have found the solution for this problem here: http://www.jsravn.com/2013/06/26/thinkp … -arch.html
The only problem that still exists is that os-prober is not able to detect the existing Windows 7 partition and add it to the GRUB menu. -
IPhoto won't start after upgrade
I just upgraded iPhoto, and when I try to start I get the "application unexpectedly quit" message before it ever opens. Any ideas?
Start with this basic fix: trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)

Desktop v6 won't start after installation
I performed a clean install BB Desktop Software v6, after uninstalling version 5, then rebooting then installing version 6 then rebooting again.
Now, every time i click on the desktop icon or the icon to start the app (even from the Start Menu), i can see from 'talk manager', that the app started, it stays for a few seconds then it auto closes. Every single time.
Has anyone come across anything like this?
Nothing remotely similar to his ever happened to version 5 of the desktop client.
My PC info:
Windows XP PRO SP3
Intel Core2 Duo / 3 GB RAM
User does have 'administrative' rightsHey zxo2000,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
Do you have any additional users created on this PC? If so, if you login to that user account does Desktop Manager close down after a few seconds?
Also what security software is currently installed on the computer?
I would first suggest performing a clean uninstall of the BlackBerry Desktop Software, which requires going into the registry.
The steps are located at www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB02206
Once completed, disable start-up items under msconfig and then re-install BlackBerry Desktop Software.

ITunes won't start after installation, get error "iTunes has encountered.."
I've been reading up on this a bit in the forums, but I can't seem to find a definitive answer to fix this problem. Just today, I tried to install iTunes to my month-old computer. Installation seemed to go fine. However, now when I click on "iTunes" my computer goes immediately to:
iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
I tried the MSConfig thing and that didn't do anything. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and that didn't work, either.
What I find weird is that after uninstalling, I try to install QuickTime all by itself, and the computer informs me there is already a version installed, but I never did and it does not show up under "control pannel, add or remove programs."
If this helps, I copied this from the windows error:
AppName: itunes.exe AppVer: 7.0.2.16 ModName: unknown
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 10001040
I don't understand why this is happening, as this is a new computer, and I am the only user. This is XP Media Center Edition 2005
Please help! I can provide whatever info is necessary for help!
HP Windows XPRead elsewhere of two files that needed to be removed in C:\windows\system32 in order for Quicktime to reinstall successfully. Upon doing so, I was then able to install iTunes. Seems to be working now!

Hi All,
I'm having a problem getting the dbconsole started on an upgraded 10g r2 db.
OS = XP 64bit
DB = 10.2.0.4
It was working when it was 10.2.0.1. After the upgrade process ran :-
emca -upgrade db
this completed upto the point of starting the dbconsole at which point it tried and tried but eventually timed out. So I removed and recreated the repository
emca -deconfig dbcontrol db -repos drop
emca -config dbcontrol db -repos create
, same resultant problem as before. Finally following these instructions :-
Link
This resulted in the OUI failing due to time out of the dbconsole startup.
Outputs.....

Firefox 12 won't start after upgrade from 3.6 in Windows XP with SP3
When I start up firefox after an upgrade to 12 on my Windows XP with SP3 I see the firefox.exe process in Window's Task Manager but it never starts i.e. I never see a browser page. If I try to start it again I get an error message that it is already running.
I have rebooted and even uninstalled/reinstalled Firefox but no browser appears.
Is it possible for my to download the version I had (3.6) and I can just live with that or is there a work-around to get Firefox 12 to work on my desktop?
ThanksWell I was able to run the profile creator one time (firefox.exe -p) and I created a profile with it but still not able to start firefox. So I tried to start it again after rebooting. It starts a process which I can see in Task Manager but now I don't get either the Profile Manager dialog box or FF.
I also tried to start the profile manager with this command: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -p.
I terminated the firefox process and tried again but get the same results.
BTW, this command: %APPDATA%\MOZILLA\FIREFOX\PROFILES shows a profile called m6woxz30.default, which is not the name I choice for my profile the one time I got the Profile Manager to run.
BTW, thanks for your help and ideas. -
My iPhoto won't open after reverting from mavericks to mountain lion! HELP!!
I recently upgraded to mavericks & quickly discovered that protools was not compatible with the new OS.. so i called apple & they suggested i back up my files & completely restore my computer so I could return to mountain lion..afterward i realized my ilife was no longer in my applications & had use the applications cd that came with my computer to upload ilife. now when i go to use iphoto it says " You can’t open your current photo library using this version of iPhoto. You have made changes to your photo library using a newer version of iPhoto. Please quit and use the latest version of iPhoto." & forces me to quit. I dont see any ipdates for iphoto & at this point dont know what to do!! please help!
Older version of iPhoto cannot open libraries that have been created or opened with later versions.
You can downgrade the library to 9.4.3 by following this iPLM tutorial: Fat Cat Software - iPhoto Library Manager Help - Downgrading a library to an earlier version of iPhoto

Lightroom CC 2015 won't start after installation
I just downloaded the upgrade for Lr 2015. Everything went well, and a new icon appeared on my desktop.

EPrint worked once, now fails every time
I've been trying to set up ePrint so that my daughter can send things to the printer from her computer downstairs. Our very first test worked - the printer printed out a link to the pdf we wanted to print. We tried having another go so that we could
