IPhoto Won't Transfer to Memory Stick

I'm transferring pictures from IPhoto to a Memory Stick, I get about half way through and an error message comes up "unable to create"  I've done this thousands of times with no problems.  I used three different flash drives and merged them into one event.  It's 154 pictures all together & only about 88 transfer.  HELP!

memory sticks are formatted FAT and hold a very limited number of files - export the photos to a desktop folder and drag that folder to the memory stick - delete the desktop folder after the transfer is successful

  • How do I transfer iPhoto album to DVD or memory stick?

I am trying to transfer iPhoto album to DVD or memory stick and unable to figure this out. All suggestions would be helpful. Thanks in advance!

Export as Illaass recommended to a folder on the Desktop and then drag that folder onto the memory stick.

Iphoto won't recognize my memory card anymore (since a month ish?) but the mac itself does and puts the icon on the desktop.  How do I get it to recognize it again?

Thank you so much for responding.  I will look for the other disks.
One more question - I initially decided to do this because my Mac kept opening with the date changed to 2008, and I keep having to re - enter my Web key.  In addition, it was running much slower.  Since I 'cleaned' everything out, I thought all would work perfect.  This morning, the date changed to 2008; again AND it again asks for my Web key.  Does this mean my Mac has reached it's almost end or could I have a 'bug' on it?
Again, thanks so much for your suggestions.

  • Low data transfer with memory stick on a Satellite A100-207

Hi, whenever I stick the memory stick from my Sony Ericsson P990i Smartphone into my notebook it says it has detected new hardware and needs to reboot to use it.
I kinda expected this first time, but it does it EVERY TIME now. Which means transfering files onto the memory stick takes a lot longer than it should and it is far easier (but a lot less convient) to transfer them via my network to my main home PC and use the card reader in my Epson printer to put the files on the memory stick.
Anyone know why this happens and how to stop it. I need to regularly update files on the memory stick as they are edited both on the laptop and the phone (via QucikOffice which comes pre-installed and alows editing of word and excel files).
Any help or ideas is appreicated.
    Andy

I agree with Andrej. You should be 100% sure that this card is compatible with the card reader on the notebook.
Furthermore what transfer rate do you expect?
I think every card has different write/read access times. So do not compare it with other cards.

  • The albums on my desktop iPhoto won't transfer to my iPad mini iPhoto

I can't figure out why my Mac desktop iPhoto where I have multiple albums set up with pictures won't transfer ALL of the albums I have set up.  I have a Mac laptop with iPhoto that transfers what I have it set up to transfer just fine to my older ipad.  Both the Mac desktop and ipad mini are new w/in the last year.
When I plug in my ipad mini to sync with mac desktop, I have my itunes sync settings on iPad mini to sync with iPhoto, selected pictures, albums, etc & include No Events &have the albums I want transferred checked off in the Photos section.
It seems like there is transfer from ipad mini to desktop, but doesn't seem to go the other way.  Any ideas?

The same thing happened to me when I updated to the new software when iPhone 4S came out.

  • My usb drive won't recognise my memory stick

  • Iphoto won't transfer raw file to photoshop

I can't stransfer raw files to photoshop even though I have set the preferences. I would like to have all the photos show as raw in iphoto, and transfer as raw to photoshop, but can't seem to do that either. I can edit the photo in iphoto as raw, but can't move the raw photo to photoshop. Richard

Rather than dragging it over, reinstall it:
    To re-install iPhoto
    1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
    2. Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name
    3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.

  • IPhoto won't recognize my memory card anymore

Usually when I put my camera memory card into my laptop, it shows up in my iPhoto and asks to download the pictures that I have not yet downloaded...today iPhoto is not recognizing my same memory card and it not even opening in iPhoto.  I know there was an iPhoto update recently...is it something to do with that?  Has anyone had this experience or know what I can do?  Thanks!!

Have you tried any of the following?
Restarting your computer?  Repairing permissions?  Zapping the pram?
Please describe in detail all you have attempted to do in order to resolve the issue.
Which os version are you using?

  • IPhoto won't transfer to new hard drive

The hard drive on my macbook pro (early 2006 edition) recently crashed so I bought a new HD and purchased Snow Leopard. After installing the OS and the new HD I hooked up my old HD to bring over my old files/programs to my new HD. I didn't use Migration Assistant. I simply hooked up a HD Adaptor using USB.
Everything I wanted to copy over seemed to work just fine, including iMovie and iDVD...but not iPhoto. It gets half way through and I get an error message that reads, "The Finder can’t complete the operation because some data in “iPhoto” can’t be read or written. (Error code -36)" I noticed that the iPhoto icon does appear in my new HD but when you open it up it freezes.
Does anybody have any ideas of how I can transfer this version of iPhoto '06 to my new HD? I'd rather not purchase a new iLife b/c I really don't use iPhoto all that much and '06 worked just fine for me.
    Thanks!
    -Danny.

  • Iphoto won't  transfer to order photo book

I get a fault trying to order a photo book. It says "An export error occured while finalizing the photo book." Error: (null)

Preview your book. One of the photos may not be printable. See this for how to make a preview:
iPhoto, Aperture: Previewing an order in iPhoto or Aperture
If making a preview should fail, try to identify and remove any photo that is causing problems.
Then boot into  Safe Mode, and order the book while still in Safe Mode.
Keep the Preview for reference, until the book has been delivered.

  • Satellite P200D - Won't read Memory Stick Pro duo Adapter

    Kia Ora
My Satellite P200 won't read my Memory Stick Pro Duo in the adapter, both Sony Brand.
I'm running Vista Home Premium. SD cards are read OK.
The adapter works fine in my PC running XP home premium. I have tried two different pro duo cards. Please help!

    Hi
I think you should check your user manual because this type of card is not supported:
+Memory Stick Duo/PRO Duo and the Memory Stick adaptor are not compatible with the Multiple Digital Media Card slot. Do not insert Memory Stick Duo/PRO Duo into the slot. Data may be lost or damaged if you use any card other than those supported.+
Do you have more questions? ;)

  • IPhoto won't import from Sony memory stick reader...

I have successfully imported from Lexar firewire cf reader, but when I plugged in my USB memory stick reader - iphoto doesn't respond. I do see "MSAC-US1" in the hardware overview of system profiler - which is the reader. When i put in a full memory stick, the reader lights as if it is talking with the computer - but the stick doesn't mount on the desktop, iphoto ignores it completely, as does disk utility.
I just upgraded to the latest version of iphoto and am using a new intel iMac.
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Eric
intel iMac, ibook   Mac OS X (10.4.5)   iphoto 6.02

I have the same problem. MSAC-US1, always worked before with iPhoto; I upgraded to a MacBook Pro, and now it doesn't work. The Access light momentarily lights up on the MSAC-US1, but the stick doesn't mount on the desktop. The device does show up in System Profiler, just as you noted.
It looks like the Intel version of the OS doesn't have support for this device - which is a huge problem, especially since it is listed as a device on the iPhoto Supported Devices page.
Apple, are you monitoring this discussion? Time to fix this bug!

  • How do I import an iPhoto Library  (V.7.1.5) created on my old MacBook (10. 6.8) into my new Macbook pro (10.9.1) running iPhoto 9.5.1? I tried copying onto memory stick and moving to new mac, but new iPhoto doesn't recognise the library.

How do I import an iPhoto Library  (V.7.1.5) created on my old MacBook (10. 6.8) into my new Macbook pro (10.9.1) running iPhoto 9.5.1? I tried copying onto memory stick and moving to new mac, but new iPhoto doesn't recognise the library.

So what exactly did you copy over? If it's a 12 gig iPhoto Library then it sounds like the files are there. Perhaps the copy went wrong along the way.
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • How to I transfer a photo file to a memory stick

How to I transfer a photo file to a memory stick so that I can use the USB in a photo frame?

First the USB stick needs to be formatted in a format the frame can see. That is usually FAT32, the Windows and mostly Universal format (It probably already is formatted like that).
Next is what photo cataloging and editing program are you using? If it is iPhoto you need to Export the image or images you want to place on that card/stick. Not sure how that is done exactly as I don't use iPhoto but it is one of the menu item options (Could be under the File menu item).
Then during the export it should ask you where you want to exprt them TO. you would browse to the USB stick and select it. If it Auto places them on your dekstop then use Finder to coy and paste them from your desktop to the USB stick. Or you can try Drag & Drop (I personally never use that as I've never like it) from the Desktop to the USB stick.
