Iphoto won't upload to fb!!

I have never had trouble uploading albums to fb. But now, they won't upload. If I click on the album on the side bar, it will try but then an error message comes up and says to check login information. I am logged in to fb on my computer. If I click on the album in events, the publish button is greyed out and I can't click it. I have went to the change accounts button, it pulls up my fb without issue, I have logged out and back in several times, but still no luck. Any suggestions?

When I said,
It does not show in in Photo Stream on my Mac or anywhere else
I meant, "I'm an idiot".  It shows up, in time sequence, not at the end of the photostream.  I just didn't look back far enough in the stream to see them.

  • Iphoto won't upload pictures from iphone anymore

Hi there, whilst I was uploading my photos from my iphone to iphoto, my macbook battery died (eventhough it said 35 mins left-but that's a different story!) when i reconnected everything iphoto won't let me upload - it keeps saying 'iPhoto cannot import your photos because there was a problem downloading an image.' No pictures are actually in iphoto from the upload when the battery died so I don't know why it keeps saying this. I tried using Image capture but this didn't work either...Can someone help please?

I updated my phone to iOS 7.1.1 since writing my post, and that seemed to fix the problem. Thank you!

  • My iPhotos won't upload to say an email or ebay

I have recently had my MacBook hard drive replaced and iPhoto was not on it. It is now OS Lion so I used a Life 09 disc to download iPhotos. This has worked fine but when I try to upload photos from it to say an email or ebay I can not get the iPhoto events up to select photos. When I click on the iPhoto library the coloured uploading icon appears but nothing happens.

There are server problems right now with iMessage effecting some users.  See http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/systemstatus/.

  • IPhoto won't upload pictures from iPhone

I'm having trouble uploading photos from my iPhone 4 to iPhoto on my MacBook. When I connect my phone to the computer, iPhoto doesn't automatically open like it use to. However, if I manually open iPhoto it recongnizes that my phone is connected. When I click on my device it shows that there are no pictures to import, when infact, there are. The last time I uploaded photos from my phone to my computer was at the end of December. I believe there has been at least one or two updates to the iPhone since. Could that have something to do with it? Does anyone have any advice? Thanks!

I updated my phone to iOS 7.1.1 since writing my post, and that seemed to fix the problem. Thank you!

  • Movie in iPhoto won't upload to mobileme gallery

I am trying to upload a short video to my mobileme gallery imported from my digital camera to iPhoto. I have several others that I have posted using iPhoto 08. Every time I try to do it, it starts the process, shows the video with pending underneath it, you see it listed on the sidebar with the spinning arrow, then iPhoto just quits. When I relaunch iPhoto it shows up on the left under mobileme gallery but if you click on it nothing is there. When I go to my web gallery and log in, same thing. There is a place for it, but when you click on the video nothing happens, there is really nothing there.
What I have since done is bring the video into iMovie and share to my mobileme gallery and it works perfectly.
I really should be able to do it straight from iPhoto, as I have always done it that way before.
    Anyone else having this problem?

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
    Start with the troubleshooting basics:
    1. Delete the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
    2. Repair Permissions using Disk Utility
    3. Create a new account (systempreferences -> accounts) and see if the problem is repeated there. If it is, then a re-install of the app might be indicated. If it's not, then it's likely the app is okay and the problem is something in the main account.

  • IPhoto won't upload to Facebook

Over the past two days, I've been trying to upload two separate groups of photos to Facebook using the iPhoto app for the new iPad. iPhoto repeatedly fails to upload more than half of the photos, taking sometimes up to an hour to upload just 10 photos. When I try to upload the remaining photos, some will post, but again, more than half will fail. Additionally, they upload out of order.
I haven't had this issue before.

I ran across this post by Paul Griffin today:
    Paul J Griffin
Re: My iPhoto will not longer let me hit the Facebook icon and immediately post to Facebook.  Now it says, "Do you want to set up iPhoto to publish to Facebook?"  which you still can't do.  What gives?
Dec 30, 2012 7:26 PM (in response to laurafromhamilton)
Just solved it here after an hour+ of experimenting.
    Try this:
    • When you get prompted "Do you want to set up iPhoto of post to Facebook?" confirm and it will bring up your regular Facebook home page in asmall viewer window.
    • Go up to the upper right corner of the Facebook page and log out, then hit the "Close" button at the bottom of the small viewer window.
    • You'll probably get the same "Do you want to set up iPhoto to publish to Facebook?" prompt again. This time hit Cancel
    • Now try to share your pictures to Facebook again.  You'll get the "Do you want to set up iPhoto to publish to Facebook?" message again. Do it and this time hopefully you should get a prompt to login to your Facebook account. Enter your Facebook name and password. This should reset your connection.
    • If successful you should get a prompt from Facebook that you can close the page. Close it and fingers crossed, all should work again. That's what worked for me.
If that fails the workaround is to export the photos to the Desktop from iPhoto and use your browser to upload.

  • IPhoto won't upload my photos to facebook

I created an album in iPhoto and I click on Share in the bottom right of my screen and select facebook. It creates an album on facebook and says it's uploading thumbnails then finishes. I check Facebook and the album is there but none of the photos are uploaded. If I try and manually add photos from Facebook the ones in the album cannot be selected. I'm having the same problem with an existing album on Facebook. I added some new photos to it within iPhoto and selected them to share and it only uploaded a few.

It's a know problem with iPhoto so we'll have to wait until the next iPHoto updater is released.  In the mean time we you'll  have to upload photos the old fashion way like you've already done, manually.

    Back to the other library:
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • XI have just replaced my hard drive and uploaded my backup. Now iPhoto won't launch or reset and relaunch. Suggestions?

I have just replaced my hard drive (more memory) and uploaded my Time Machine backup. Now iPhoto won't launch or reset and relaunch. Suggestions?

Well without no information to work with, try reinstall.
    To re-install iPhoto
    1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5:  Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows:  In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
    /var/db/receipts/
    2c: on 10.7 they're at
    /private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
    3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store or have a Recent Mac you can find it in your Purchases List.

"If you exceed your iCloud storage limit, photos and videos won't upload to iCloud, and your library will no longer stay up to date across your devices."  Really?  Can't we support the existing "last 1k photos will be available in the cloud" model?  If we don't do this, won't this kill auto-sync of new photos from iOS devices to our libraries on our Macs (if the Mac's Photos app has auto syncing with the cloud turned on) once we go over our 5gb limit?  I have 350GB of photos in my Mac Photos library - I am not going to pay $20/month for 1tb iCloud storage.  Please advise, Apple.  Thank you.

I agree and am baffled by this also.  At first I was really excite about this new feature.  Mostly because I would be able to seamlessly sync videos along with my PhotoStream.  I just assumed there would be some systematic way to handle large libraries.  Like removing older files as the current PhotoStream does.  However, it appears that this new feature will simply 'shut down' when you reach your storage limit.  This just makes no sense to me.  I would have to double check, but I have all my photos and videos in iPhoto and stored on a 3 TB external hard drive and I think the full library is over 1 TB.  So, even if I was willing to pay $20 a month for photo syncing (which I am not) I couldn't do it because my library is too large.  Again I am just baffled why Apple cannot blend this new service with the existing PhotoSteam model.  My favorite aspect of PhotoSteam is that is uploads all my iPad and iPhone Photos to my Mac for permanent storage and it seems this is lost in the new version.

  • Upgrade to Yosemite, iPhoto won't open and NTFS-3G could not mount error with new external HD

    Help!
I just did a software update to get OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 on my MacBook Pro.
Now iPhoto won't open and I get this error:
"Your photo library is either in use by another application or has become unreadable....Shut down and restart your computer, and then open iPhoto again. If the problem persists, try rebuilding your photo library. To do this, quit iPhoto, and then reopen it while keeping the Option and Command keys pressed. You can also try restoring your photo library from a backup."
So I do this and try to repair the database as suggested and I get another error:
"iPhoto will open as soon as the iPhoto library is available. Time Machine might be backing it up."
But it's not - no external hard drive is connected.
I'm terrified I can't get access to my photos (and I admit I haven't backed up with Time Machine for over a year - my mistake that I won't make again).
So I bought a brand new external hard drive (seagate for mac and pc, 2TB) so I could save only my photos to the hard drive (because I googled and read you can manually save your photos to disk by dragging and dropping the photo library onto the external hard drive).
But I can't even get the hard drive to work....I get this error
    "NTFS-3G could not mount /dev/disk2s1
at /Volumes/Seagate Backup Plus Drive because the following problem occurred:
/Library/Filesystems/fusefs.fs/Support/fusefs.kext failed to load - (libkern/kext) link error; check the system/kernel logs for errors or try kextutil(8).
the MacFUSE file system is not available (71)"
I google the issue again and it says to uninstall NTFS-3G but I actually think I just deleted it a long ago without uninstalling it properly??  I don't know....

    (c)  how do i get all my photos onto the hard drive safely so I can import them onto a PC

    (c)  how do i get all my photos onto the hard drive safely so I can import them onto a PC
First see if you can reformat the EHD to MS-DOS FAT with Disk Utility.  If you can
open iPhoto and select all of the Events in the Events mode. Use the File ➙ Export ➙ File Export menu option and export to the EHD with these settings:
Select the destination for the export to be the EHD or a folder on the EHD.  This process will create a folder for each Event in your library with the same name as the Event and contain the original image files.  The EHD will be useable by a PC and the photos will be available also.
