Iphoto wont download

i recently bought a used macbook OS X version 10.6.8 and it didnt come with iphoto. I was however given snow leopard, install application disc etc. when i insert the install/application..it says my computer is not compatible. I have tried downloading iphoto from apps store and again it wont work..how do I get iphoto to install??

iPhoto came with theocmputer - the seller should have given you the restore disks - contact them or contact Apple and see if they will help you out

What version of iPhoto?
As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

Iphoto wont download my picts from digital camera

i have been trying to download my pics from my digital camera. I have never had any problems in the past. now it is saying cannot recognize the file, and they are jpg files. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Do you have an USB card reader? Does your card mount to the desktop Can you import them using image capture (in your applications folder)? When did you last reformat your memory card using the camera?
Ok we have eliminated one of the four questions (probably) - what about the other three? How did image capture fail?

Try this: launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library. Try to import from your iPhoto into the new library to see if the same problem persists.

iphoto wont open due to library problem.
Downloaded upgrade and still won't open.

I deleted languages now iphoto wont open

Hi there,
I deleted all the languages from iphoto . I clicked on the iphoto icon whilst it was in finder, i clicked on info to show details, then i erased all languages( deselected english but somehow still deleted) now iphoto wont open.
Any suggestions? I thought about backing up the application from time machine but will that erase any new photos i have on current iphoto library?

You'll need to restore the iPhoto application using Time Machine. Restoring the application will not affect your photos. They are separate from the application. *Never delete the English module from any application or the system.*
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

Absolutely wrong. iPhoto won't help in SYNCHRONIZING the images from iTunes to the iPad as it can only access photos already synched (or imported via CCK / taken on the iPad itself).

Iphoto wont print book

Everytime I try to print/order a book i have created in iPhoto, it closes after the 3rd page loads and wont complete. Any ideas on what I can do??? Thanks

Make a copy of the book (select book and type Command+D). In the copy move that 3rd page to 7th position and preview the book by Control(Right)-clicking in the All Pages window and selecting Preview Book from the contextual menu:

If the crash occurs around page 7 then check the photos on that page, maybe remove them temporarily from the page and do a preview again. If the Preview works with the photos gone then one of them maybe damaged and causing the problem.
You can also try the following and then do a Preview: make a temporary, backup copy of the library and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

Iphoto wont work after updating to mountain lion

I updated to mountain lion now my iphoto wont work. I tried updating but couldnt find iphoto 9.0 they said I needed. I downloaded and installed iphoto 9.4.2 and it still won't work. It says: your photo library is either in use or has become unreadable. Shut down and restart your computer, and then open iPhoto again. If the problem persists, try rebuilding your photo library. To do this quit iPhoto and then reopen while keeping the option and command keys pressed.
I did that and it still gives me the same message when I try to open.

Try the following:

IMovie wont download

Well I just buied the new imovie 11', i have the 08' one. I need it for a homework and when i download it in the app store of imacs it saids that it couldnt download, that I need to check my internet connection and i allready check it. My internet connection is just fine, the necessary stuff on my mac is okay and it just wont download. I need this for tomorrow and it has been a while that it wont download. To be sure i buyed the iphoto 11' and it downloaded perfectly, could somebody help me, please?

I would recommend purchasing iLife 11 on disk. Later when you no longer need it you can sell it.

I've purchased songs thru iTunes Store and they will not sync to my iPhone 5. They show up as if they are in the cloud but wont download to my iPhone, Why?

So some of my purchased songs from iTunes are not syncing to my iPhone. Is there a setting or format issue? If so, how do I change it? The songs show up on my iPhone as if they synced, but do not play. There is an icon to the right saying it needs to be downloaded from iCloud and when I click it, it wont download.

What country are you in ? Depending upon what country that you are in then you might be able to redownload them on your Mac's iTunes via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the iTunes store homepage
If you're not in a country where TV programmes can be redownloaded then connect the iPad to your Mac's iTunes and use the File > Devices > Transfer Purchases to copy them over from your iPad

The itunes store wont let me download anything i click the buy button and it asks for my password but it wont download

Apple's servers are very picky about the format of the address. If you live in the USA, then the server is expecting the style that the US Postal Service uses. One way to do this is to use the USPS ZIP Code lookup service;

Enter the address to look up the ZIP code and then copy the exact USPS output into your iTunes account information.

It sounds like there is an issue burning CD's in iTunes. Is the playback issue only occurring on a specific device and does the disc show up correctly in iTunes?
