Iphoto2 verses iphoto5, exporting photos to web pages

hello,
I am wondering how different the feature of exporting photos to the web page in new iphoto5 version verses iphoto2 (which i have) is? does it have the option of the aligning images in the table cell, choosing the font's face and size. where i can find this information, please?

Am looking at exporting the Form view on APEX to be exported to PDF.

In order to get a PDF, you need to generate a Report....in PDF format.
If you are using the APEX Listener, you can initiate the download of the PDF by calling APEX_UTILS.download_print_document() (I normally place this in a Process)
BUT -- You have to create the Report (under Shared Components) and a Template (also under Shared Components).
The white paper in my first post gives you the HOWTO "[Create] Custom PDF Reports with Oracle Application Express and the APEX Listener".
Start by creating a Report (in Shared Components, bottom right) that uses a simple SQL statement like:
Select * from emp where empno = :P15_EMPNO
You may need to hard code the parameter before you hit "Download XML" button.
The XML that you get from clicking "Download XML" satisfies the "Step 1 - Create an XML Data Source" found on Page 11 of the document.
The rest of the instructions is in that whitepaper.

im sorry to be a bit thick here i didnt know this was happening until i looked through all my photoes i use an sd card to put pictures on lap top and icloud from my phone but in library there are all web pages i have ever been to ie face book ebay etc i didnt know if there was any thing i should be turning off many thanks for ur last answer though

When exporting files to web pages Aperture keeping losing files, so for instance, if I choose to export 600 images to a new web page, it might do 524 images but not the full 600. I've tried resetting Aperture, it's the latest version etc etc. Help please!

I have 3600 images which I need to upload as sublfolders, each with their own URL and at the moment Aperture is dropping of anything from 1 to 90 images.
This is critical as people need to see each and every on of these images online. So if a file has 600 photos in it, Aperture should make a URL with 600 full image pages. And this is what it's not doing. On small files, say 30 or so it seems to work well, it's when it gets to more than that the problem starts.
I've used Aperture in the past under previous versions and not had this problem.
Any help would be great.

Thanks for responding (as it seems as though no one else has been able to provide any insight as of yet)! Not sure if you saw my recent post, but the version of Aperture on the 2008 MacBook has been upgraded to 3.1.2 (not sure how; I bought it in 2009, but only have OS X 10.5.8... which apparently can't house 3.1.2 of Aperture, but hey, like many other anomalies i'm encountering, I'm no longer surprised!). I am unable to upgrade it any further, as it warns me that my OS X does not fit the requirements. I exported the projects as libraries; however, like I posted before, apparently these are from too old of a version for the new Aperture (3.3.1) to handle and import.
It's getting to the point where I'd almost pay to upgrade the OS X on my previous MacBook (10.5.8) to something newer in order to THEN update Aperture to a newer version; however, my previous MacBook simply cannot handle this (the specs are awful -- hence my decision to save up and upgrade to the newest MBP with Retina).
I've spent hours upon hours transferring files, libraries as projects, previews, versions, even masters (though, apparently some of them aren't accessible?) with no luck. I've rebuilt the library and reprocessed everything. And this is all after having to return one MBP already since Aperture 3.3.1 is glitch-y as it is, and froze everything for having a "managed library". So, now that I know that I have to deal with a referenced library in Aperture... I just need to actually transfer my previous library to my new one (hopefully WITH adjustments since these are years worth of photos and work).
Again, any help is appreciated. I've lost enough sleep, time, and vision health over this at this point.
Also, I know Migration Assistant is an option, I was told that it wouldn't work properly anyway because of the different operating systems, and the potential for problems.

How can I export to a web page with movies?

I just noticed that when I exported a folder of pictures and movies to a web page, only the pictures showed up. Is there a way I can use the export to web page feature and see my movies?

Are you using iWeb to create your web page? If so then the only options from within iPhoto for exporting are a photo page or blog page. You need to export only the photos and once in iWeb create a separate movie page and import that movie to that specific page via the Media button at the bottom.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

Exporting albums to web pages

iPhoto had an option under export to 'export-to-web-page'. From what I can tell, that functionality has been removed in Photos. Does anyone know how to do that in photos or maybe have a recommended plug-in for the Share menu that would do it instead? I used that export-to-web-page to make our family blog (along with Dreamweaver) and now it will be more trickier to do.

Are you saying that you are dropping in 3 photos? Or 3 albums full of photos? Just how many photos? There is a limit of 99 photos per photo template. It won't accept more if you have dragged in more than that.

however when i go publish it says congratulations you have

hosting people to
see if they have given you proper site url or a temporary

How to resize photos for web pages

Can photos be resized within iPhoto to be used on a web site? If not what is the best program to do this to keep good quality photos but have a fast reloading time.

I need to edit photos for print and then create a second version for the web.
You can resize photos as you export from iPhoto - use a custom size and set what you need and upload the exported photos
This is how you do that - you can not "resize" within iPhoto - you resize (and make another copy) when you export.
As to your saving photos form PS into the iPhoto library and wondering why it does not work - it is becaus you must NEVER make any changes of any sor tto the structure or content of the iPhoto library using any program other than iPhoto - saving a photo into the iPhoto libray is not supported and will not work - you set PS as the external editor and when you finish editing you save and iPhoto handles the new image

My photo stream web page is in the wrong order

I've been using the photo stream to share photos with family via the web link. Until today, it was working perfectly. Today, the order of the photos suddenly rearranged themselves with no action on my end. I haven't uploaded any photos in several days. The order of the photos is correct on my phone, which is even more confusing.

Is there anything else I could try.
Not sure. I would likely test an x264 export of the image sequence from QT 7 Pro or MPEG Streamclip (or from HandBrake if your system is not configured with the x264 codec) and see if the result was any better. This is not a problem I run into very often and, even then, the files were sent to me with no real indication of how they were originally encoded.
Or do you know how I can analise the exported file?
Not really... but it would be nice to have a tool which indicated the current frame type and listed pointers to frames/stacks of frames used for rendering reference.

Exporting Photo Book to Pages or Keynote

I have a photo book which I would like to export into pages or keynote but haven't found a way to do this yet. I also see I can save the book as a pdf file, but is there anyway to get it into pages or keynote so that I can apply different themes to it? Thanks for any advice in advance!

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. I'm sure I've seen this same subject discussed. Do a search in the form for "iPhoto Keynote" and see what you get.
A workaround might be using the "Save PDF to iPhoto" option under the PDF menu button in the Print window. A jpg of each file will be created and added to iPhoto. You can then drag those jpgs into the Keynote window to add as desired.

Can't enlarge photos on web page by double-clicking

Double-Click on the photo of Pluto to enlarge it, and you will see instead, a photo of a baby. That baby photo was the default photo inside the frame when I first created the page. When I dragged my Pluto photo (from iPhoto) onto the frame, it replaced the baby picture. But when I publish the page and someone double-clicks to enlarge the photo, the default baby photo reappears.The same thing happens with my other photo of a nebula. This is not a problem if I insert photos into pages that do not have default photo frames. Does any one know why this happens?

Can't View Photos on Web Page

I have a real problem.
I created pages on iWeb 8 for clients to view images and some of the people can't see anything other than the page itself without photos. So far 2 out of 4 people are having this problem.
Please help if anyone has a clue as to what is happening.

Exporting Photos to Web Service Retaining Modified File Name

I recently started using iPhoto 08 to edit and organize my photos. In 2008 we took nearly 10,000 pictures. I have used and would like to continue using Winkflash as my photo printing service. What I like best about Winkflash is that they print the name of the photo on the back of the pictures. Before I upload the pictures, I edit them and modify the file name to the date, who's in the picture, and where the event is. When my photos arrive, I don't have to label the back as all the information is already there.
In November I started using iPhoto 08. After editing and renaming (using the Batch Change > Title option) and entering information about each picture in the title frame on over 2,000 photos, I started uploading them to Winkflash. Much to my dismay, the file name was not retained. ARGHHH! (To rename the photos, I use the international date format so the pictures are chronological; i.e. 20081231 New Year Eve - 01 Ron)
I used Winkflash's image uploader and dragged and dropped the images from iPhoto. Why is it not retaining the file name but reverting back to the camera's IMG_XXX?

Because adding a Title is not the same a renaming a file.
Select the pics in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. In the resulting dialogue you have the option (among others) to set the Kind: to JPEG and then to use the Title as Filename. Complete the export to the desktop where iPhoto will make a copy of the files with your desired filename. Upload those.
Failing that, ask your Print Service to support standard IPTC metadata.

SWF export positioning in web page

Hi,
I have some questions about the SWF version of the Indesign Files.
I would like a bit more control on how it sits in a webpage if possible.
If I export as normal, the SWF file sits in the top left side of the page.
If I export and tick the box to include the pagecurl feature, it sits in the middle of the page.
Is it possible edit the setings to get the swf file to be centred on a page without the pagecurl option?
If I open the generated html file in Dreamweaver the page is basically blank.
Would the only option be to import the SWF file into a blank page and center it using tables?

Are you looking at the code? Unless something has changed with CS 5.5 you should see the javascript that loads the swf at the top of the page in the DW code view. Look at the bottom for the load parameters:

The page curl version doesn't really center the swf object, it just makes the width and height parameters larger than the page, which creates a top and left background border. If you want to center the swf inside the browser window you'll need to add a table or divs
