IPhotos App Update without purchasing

So I need to update my Iphoto app but it is telling me to sign in with the account i purchased it the app but I never purchased it. So what do I do in order to update the app itself.

You may end up having to delete the stalled apps in order to redownload them, but in the meantime.....
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
Try a reboot as well - hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time until the Apple logo appears - ignore the red slider.
And .. You can finish the downloads in iTunes on your computer and then sync them to the iPad.

App updates without password?

Hi everyone,
I have an iPhone 4 and an iPhone 5S. When I have app updates available, my iPhone 5S updates the apps without having to enter my Apple ID password. On my iPhone 4 I have to enter the password everytime - very tedious.
I have compared all security settings (including Restrictions) on both phones and they are identical. I have read that this was changed to not ask for the password anymore for app updates and free apps in iOS6. Could it be that my settings got currupted or something during one of the iOS updates (I've had it since iOS4).

Tap Settings > General > Restrictions
If have it set to: Require Password set to 'Immediately'
You will have to enter the password for all updates.

Iphoto app update issue

I had my hard drive replced under Apple's warranty. I used time machine to restore my software. Smooth as silk until I was notified by the App Store that I had 2 updates available. The first was a Mountain Lion update. I installed it without a hitch. The second was an iPhoto update version 9.4.2 dated November 1, 2012.
When I hit install, I get this message:
'You have updates available for other accounts"
"To update this application, sign in to the account you used to purchase it"
IPhoto came with my original OS and has only been updated using one account.
Any ideas? Should I pull an older version off of time machine and try an update after that?

Seems that when Apple reloaded the OS, it loaded iPhoto 11. I did not originally have that version on my mac. I just went ahead and upgraded it for $15. No biggie.

How do I get update iphone apps update without itunes match?

I'm not a Luddite but ... Don't want Cloud, too many problems, and don't want to update to iTunes 10.7 if match is included. So the question becomes how do I get updates for my apps without the new iTunes store agreement. I feel as though I'm dealing with Micro-you-know-who and having a bunch of garbage shoved down my throat. And looking through all the questions about software not working properly... I've been there before. What is going on with Apple? Makes me really nervous.

Match is optional (in fact you have to pay extra for it) - so carry on as before.
iCloud is separate from iTunes and is used for syncing - it's generally recommended you use a separate Apple Id for the stores(s) and iCloud anyway - that way the family can share music & apps but sync individually.

do the apps that are sold in MAS have free updates?
if not , how can I found out what the developer has decided for his product ?

Yes. Updates are free.
You can check the developer site for update information.
Launch an app then from the menu bar (top of your screen) click the app name then you should see Check for Updates from the drop down menu. That should take you to the developer's site. Or look at the app again on the MAS. You should see a link for developer support.

How to refuse Creative Cloud app update without quitting

When an update is available for the Creative Cloud app itself, the only choices given are Update and Quit. Quitting often prevents other CC apps from launching. I admin a training facility where we schedule our updates, and I can't have my students updating every time CC wants it (they don't have admin priviedges, and I don't have time to run around entering passwords every time an update shows up).
How do we refuse these coerced updates?

If you're been waiting for a while and it still won't connect might try this:
1 - enable the Debug menu in App Store:
open the Terminal application.
copy the command below and paste into the Terminal window:
defaults write com.apple.appstore ShowDebugMenu -bool true
followed by Enter.
launch App Store, login.
2 - select the Debug ➙ Reset Application option:
3 - try again.

Sometimes I keep an app just to know when there will be an update (I don't use it because i'm waiting for some feature to be developped).
Do you know of any app where I can keep tracked of purchased apps updates without keeping them on my device?

In the Purchased list. Go to the App Store. Tap Updates. Tap Purchased at the top of the screen. Tap Not on This iPad.

ITunes 9x won't do anymore APP updates

iTunes 9x won't let me do anymore APP updates without being forced to update iTunes to v.10. I don't want PING forced on me so I won't agree to the new Terms. Yes some people read those so people like Apple don't sneak junk in. (read the terms about sharing info) Am I condemed to not have anymore new purchases and updates because I won't update? Is there a work around?

I would recommend making sure that Mac App Store and Identified Developers is selected. You can find this under Security & Privacy and System Preferences. Once this is done, test updating your applications individually.
Gatekeeper options
Gatekeeper gives you more control over what you install. You can choose the safest option and only allow apps that come from the Mac App Store to open. There is also the option of only allowing apps that come from the Mac App Store and identified developers. Or you can choose to allow any apps to open, just like previous versions of OS X.
Gatekeeper options are found in Apple menu > System Preferences… > Security & Privacy > General tabunder the header "Allow applications downloaded from:"
Note: The default setting for Gatekeeper in OS X Lion v10.7.5 is "Anywhere".
Gatekeeper options are:
Mac App Store – Only apps that came from the Mac App Store can open.
Mac App Store and identified developers (default in OS X Mountain Lion) – Only allow apps that came from the Mac App Store and developers using Gatekeeper can open.
Anywhere – Allow applications to run regardless of their source on the Internet (default in OS X Lion v10.7.5); Gatekeeper is effectively turned off. Note: Developer ID-signed apps that have been inappropriately altered will not open, even with this option selected.

There is a question mark through the iphoto app. what happened? how do i get my app to work again?

Is the iPhoto application in your applications folder? Launch it and right click on the iPhoto icon in teh dock and select keep in dock
If it is not then you (or someone) has deleted it - look in the trash - if it is there return it to the applications folder - if not reinstall from the disks that came with your computer -
reinstall iPhoto - go to your receipts folder ("Your hard drive" ==> library ==> receipts) and remove any iPhoto receipts and reinstall from the restore disks that came with your computer - do a custom install of bundled software only

As long as you are using the same Apple ID that you bought it with you should not have to purchase it again. Sre you signed into the correct ID in Settings>Store?
Did you tap on the Buy button to see what will happen?

Usage abroad - stop apps updating

I recently went to France: turned off data roaming etc and set a usage limit, but every time I turned on Maps to check traffic etc, all my other Apps decided it was time to update. This used up my daily allowance in minutes. How do I stop the usual apps updating without permission? Then I can restrict my data usage to navigation only.

When you enable data/roaming all apps in the phone will have access to the internet. To avoid high data usage, open Play store -> [menu] -> Settings -> Auto-update apps and set it to not use auto-update or to only use WiFi. Then go to Settings -> Data usage and check what apps you have that use alot of background data. Tap those and select to restrict background data.

I have just purchased Imac 21.5.I am being asked to update my Iphoto to 9.4.3.When i do it says i have to do it thru my icloud but in Icloud there is no Iphoto app.Can anyone help me. Thanks

The update automatically came from the app store and i have sucessfully installed other updates before and never been asked this question. This update was released on the 16th of April. It is update 9.4.3.
I logged into the app store and went to Iphto and found the update.All good thankyou, but the same message comes up saying i need to log into Icloud.
Any further thoughts ?
