IPhotos not displayed by new VCR

I installed a Sony Blu-ray Disc/ DVD Player with my TV and can not open the CD's that contain photos. For example, I get iPhoto Library>2008>NO PHOTO. The DVD playes recognizes iPhoto Library and the correct year and then indicates No Photo. Anyone ever have this problem?
The DVD player will run DVD's properly.
Thanks,
star gazer

Try select the pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export them to a Folder on the desktop. Then burn that to CD with the Finder's Burn command. See if that will play in your Machine.

  • IMAC 21.5-inch, Mid 2011 not display internet news pictures

Help, please. My iMAC 21.5-inch, Mid 2011 does not display internet news pictures. How can I 'fix' this?

I had no problems watching the streams & videos using FF v23.0.1.
Make sure you are using the latest version of Adobe Flash Player
    Check Flash Version
Adobe strongly recommends that you first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-mac-os.html#main_1 0_4
Follow the instructions closely, such as quitting ALL applications first before installing.  Repair permissions and restart your computer after the installation is completed.

Since I cannot read German, I was wondering if there was some sort of "Help" listing at the bottom of the website you linked?  If so, there should be a section or a FAQ section that should tell you what you need and/or the system requirements to watch their streams & videos.

  • HT1553 I restored my hard drive from time machine. Why is iPhoto not displaying images properly?

I restored my hard drive from time machine after power blinks corrupted the file system so badly that disk utility could not repair it. Since then, iPhoto has not displayed images correctly. Events are there, and blank squares are shown, but that's all. I rebuilt small and all thumbnails and permissions -- I think the top three or four options in the iPhoto rebuild utility, which took five hours to do but which seems not to have changed anything. The iPhoto library is still more than 100GB, so the photos are there. I didn't choose rebuild from backed up --- whatever the final option on the rebuild menu offers -- because that seems to be appropriate only when a backup is interrupted. Could certainly do it, though. How do I get iphoto behaving again? I have full time machine backups saved automatically and another fairly recent copy on a separate hard drive stored remotely. Thanks for whatever help anyone can provide. I've looked at existing questions and solutions without success so far.

What version of iPhoto and system are your running?  Since you've tried rebuilding with iPhoto give this a try:
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.
If you have an external HD you might want to have the rebuilt copy created on it unless you have well more than 100 GB available on your boot drive.

  • IPhoto not displaying photos

First off, I am no expert (thats why I am here) but I have been using Macs and iPhoto for some time.  I am on an iMac i5 / OSX 10.7.2 / iPhoto 11
After upgrading to Lion, my iPhoto doesn't display all of my photos. In fact, it only displays a small portion of them.  Let me break down my observations and what I have tried:
    - Many months worth of pics not displayed in the open application
-Pics ARE present in the "contents" of the iPhoto package. They are organized of course in the crazy folder system but eventually I was able to track them down. But iPhoto doesn't display them when open. Many events missing.
-All albums show up empty now because the likely contained photos from the missing events
-I figure something is corrupted so I did a rebuild with apple/option and openning iPhoto. This took forever and in the end it was the same. I believe I clicked all the options when doing so.
-I have searched high and low for the iPhoto plist.  I know it sounds crazy but I can't find it anywhere (not in user/library/preference/... lots of other plists there but not for iPhoto).  Supposedly it has to exist if I have ever openned iphoto, but I don't know where else to look.
My end goal is to display all the pics and keep them in their appropriate events.  Not overly concerned about albums or titles or other info.
I am even willing to just start from scratch with a totally new iPhoto library if that will fix my problem and if things will be put into the current events by date. But I am not sure what the best way to do that would be.
I have read the forums carefully and can't seem to find the solution.  Any and all sugestions welcome.
    Thanks.
    Nick

I will get that for you soon... I am currently importing photos into a brand new iPhoto since I wasn't having luck with the rebuild.  Only 12k more to go... It won't let me recreate the error while importing in iPhoto.
As I mentioned above, I created one new library, but didn't like that it put everything into just two events.  I deleted the whole thing in hopes that I could get something else to work.  In the end I am back to creating a new library and then plan to ask iPhoto to split the events (didn't see that option the first time around).  A lot of extra work.
I would like to know what you think about the error it was giving me. As I mentioned at the beginning, I have been unable to find the iPhoto plist anywhere. I looked everywhere it is supposed to be and have had zero luck.  I understand that that seems almost impossible, but its true.  This might have something to do with the plist error I recieved.
Also, when using iLM, the option to create a new library gives me a sort of skeleton of my other, corrupted library. It lists all the albums and even has the events labeled and dated but there is no content anywhere, not even thumbnails, just the default gray palm tree of an empty event.  Not sure what to make of that.
I'll post the error when I can if it doesn't get to late.  ( I live in Spain so I'm at least 6 hours ahead of the states!)

  • Emoticons Will not display with new version

Downloaded the new version, and now the (finger) and (wtf) emoticons will not display. Every single other one does display. Why is this happening? I have tried restarting my computer,  and redownloading Skype itself. Is there any way to fix this? I know I have the emoticons display on because every one BUT those ones work.

These hidden emoticons indeed got removed with 6.14 because of them or their shortcodes having the potential to offend some users. Here's some feedback from users wanting it back, so feel free to show your support there if you are passioante about them: http://community.skype.com/t5/Windows-desktop-client-Ideas/Restore-6-13-set-of-emotes/idi-p/2958795

  • Group conversation pictures not displaying on new ...

I don't know if there's an option I'm not seeing but since I updated to the new skype preview, I cannot see group conversation pictures for any of the skype groups I'm in.
Clicking on the conversation topic loads up the profile for the group, and I can change the picture in there, but it will not display for me (even in the profile window I get the default 'no picture' picture).
    Attachments:
    skypenoconvopic.png ‏13 KB

Can we please have the conversation picture visible to all participats of group conversations back?
And while you're at it, can we have (fubar) and (finger) and (hollest) back too?
One more thing - can we please have back the ability to adjust the size of the typing box?  There is only one little line there now and one would like to be able to see at least 4 or 5 lines of the message you are typing.
When you update, the update should improve, not remove.
Thank you very much for this great app.

  • Links will not display in new window

I have just install the new version of Thunderbird 31.4.0 and now find when I click on a Link it does not display in a new window. To display the link I have to click on the Explorer tab near the start button. I would like the link to open immediately as it did previously. Thank you very much

This is not actually a Thunderbird question, but a browser issue, so you should really be asking this in the Firefox forum (assuming you use firefox) as it is the browser not taking the focus.
However, here is some help if you use Firefox.
    If you use Firefox:
type : about:config into the Firefox address bar and hit enter. you will get a warning to be careful :)
In the Search bar, type : diverted look for this line: "browser.tabs.loadDivertedInBackground"
By default, the value of this entry should be false. This would give you focus on the browser after opening the link.
So check to see if you may have this set as 'True'.
To change it, double click on that line and it will toggle the value from 'True to 'False'.
    Restart Firefox .

  • Iphoto not displaying front cover photos in my book project

After installing iphoto 11 the front cover page in my book project will not display the photos or the text, how ever the text will display if clicked on and then only 1 line at a time.  The photos on the  other hand will not.  When the photo boxes are clicked on, the border will highlight and the photo in the thumbnail list will be outline and the word "COVER" will appear when the curser is over the photo.  The back cover is fine.
When the book is previewed the front cover is blank just as it appears in the working process.
Is there a fix for this?  If the book is ordered will the photos magically in the hard copy?
    Bob

Be sure to preview the book as described in this Apple document before ordering: iPhoto, Aperture: Previewing an order in iPhoto or Aperture. If the PDF file is has no errors continue and order. Save the PDF file that is created for comparing to the printed copy when it arrives.

  • HT2638 iPhoto not displaying images at 100%

I am trying to build a book of wedding photographs for my niece and finding iPhoto 11 crops some of the images - they are not displayed in full in the frames. Is there any way to force the app to show the images at 100%? You can enlarge the image by dragging the slider across, but not decrease the size to show the full image.

Wow, that easy! I feel such a dork ... Thanks Terence, don't know why I did not think of that!

  • I have changed my Apple ID so that it would reflect my new email address. My Apple devices and icloud info do not display my new ID, even though I use the new one to log into iTunes, etc.  How can I get this problem resolved so that I might feel confident

After changing my Apple ID I do not seem to be able to recognize it as my proper ID. It does work properly for an iTunes login and password, but, it is not displayed that way on my device when I look at my iCloud settings and other "system level" settings.
How do I correct this to be confident that I can use a feature, such as "Find My iPhone" and know that the functions and contact info is correct?

To change the iCloud ID on your device you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password to turn off Find My iPhone when prompted, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.

  • Iphoto not displaying some pictures

For some reason, and this is recent, if I try to display a picture within iphoto, it just shows a doted square with an "!" in the middle. Preview brings the files up just fine. What gives?

    Here's your problem then:
One additional item I need to add that may give you more information is that my wife and I use the same iphoto library with different user accounts in the imac. I have the library located on the users\shared folder and her user and mine have read/write access to it.
This form of Sharing is deprecated in 10.5 unless you're using iPhoto 09 (specifically v8.0.2) What you're having is a permissions issue caused by the ACL's used in Leopard. iPhoto cannot access the version of the Folder it needs.
    You need to either:
    1. Upgrade to iPhoto 09 (v8.0.2)
    or
    2. Change the system of Sharing you use:
    What you mean by 'share'.
If you want the other user to be able to see the pics, but not add to, change or alter your library, then enable Sharing in your iPhoto (Preferences -> Sharing), leave iPhoto running and use Fast User Switching to open the other account. In that account, enable 'Look For Shared Libraries'. Your Library will appear in the other source pane.
Any user can drag a pic from the Shared Library to their own in the iPhoto Window.
Remember iPhoto must be running in both accounts for this to work.
If you want the other user to have the same access to the library as you: to be able to add, edit, organise, keyword etc. The problem here is that OS X works very hard to keep your data safe and secure from the other users. You're trying to beat what's built in to the system. So, to beat the system
    Quit iPhoto in both accounts
Move the iPhoto Library Folder to an external HD set to ignore permissions. You could also use a Disk Image or even partition your Hard Disk.
In each account in turn: Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting dialogue, select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new library location. From that point on, this will be the default library location. Both accounts will have full access to the library, in fact, both accounts will 'own' it.
However, there is a catch with this system and it is a significant one. iPhoto is not a multi-user app., it does not have the code to negotiate two users simultaneously writing to the database, and trying will cause db corruption. So only one user at a time, and back up, back up back up.
Lastly: This method seems a little clunky at first, but works very well. Most importantly, it uses the System to do the job for you.
Create a new Account on your Mac, call it Media. Create an iPhoto Library there. (BTW: This will work for iTunes too.)
Enable Sharing on the Library:(Preferences -> Sharing), leave iPhoto running and use Fast User Switching to open the other accounts. In those accounts, enable 'Look For Shared Libraries'. The Library will appear in the other source pane.
This means that both users will be able to see the pics. If you want to use a pic then simply drag it from the shared Library to your own in the iPhoto Window. This means that each user can have their own edits.
If you want to add photos to the Library: Log into the Media account for that purpose.
To make it all seamless: Set your Mac to log into the Media Account automatically. Set iPhoto to launch on log-in. Then switch to your own account using Fast User Switching.
Net result: a Library that's permanently available to all users but also protected. Each user can have their own versions of the pics if they want.
No partitioning, no permissions issues. Uses no extra disk space. What's not to like?

  • Mac mini minidvi to hdmi does not display correctly new Panasonic TC-L37D2

    Hi,
I have the 2009 mac mini (2.2GHz cor 2 duo nvidia 9400 256mb) and I recently purchased the Panasonic TC-L37D2 LED LCD tv. I use the mini dvi to dvi adapter with a belkin dvi to hdmi cable I purchased at the apple store to connect the mac mini to the tv. I cant seem to get the display to correctly fill the screen. When I select 1080P the top menu bar is out of view. Basically the desktop is larger than what is displayed on the screen making navigation difficult. I tried overscan but my screen then has black bars framing the entire desktop. Are there any updated display drivers I can try to fix this. I tried the third party software switchresx but I was only able to correct the vertical issue and not the horizontal issue (so the apple pulldown in the upper left corner is off of the screen). Why is it such a hassle to get this working? My buddy has a 42 inch Panasonic plasma and does not have any problems. Anyone know the correct switch resX settings at least? I see that Apple has added an hdmi port to the new mac minis but that just means I should have waited to buy mine. :/

Read my post in Mac Mini to HDTV. A 3rd party utility called DisplayConfigX will allow you to create a custom resolution that will resize the Mac DVI/HDMI output to fit.
It is annoying when that top menu bar is off the screen huh?

  • IPhoto Not Displaying images in full-size, only thumbnails

I have iPhoto 11.9.4.2 installed in iMac 27" running Mac OS 10.7.5.
Up until last night iPhoto has been great. Last night I added about 100 images to my library which is a pretty typical update for me. The pics all transferred fine. All my exisiting and new images are visible in thumbnail mode, however when I 'click' on any one of my new or existing images so that I can view only that image in iPhoto, the image flashes up for 1 second then disappears. If I use my mouse or arrow keys I can go to the next image which again flashes up temporarily then disappears.
When I adjst the 'zoom' on the lower left portion of the iPhoto window, I can see a very small version of the image I would like to see with a box/rectangle over the area that I assume would be visibile if I zoomed in what would normally be a full-sized image.
    Any ideas?

    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • Iphoto not displaying imported photos

hello i would appreciate it if someone could give me an idea of what is happening with my iphoto programme.i transfer photo from the camera via usb iphoto displays the photos in abumn format but as soon as i click on it to make it viewable as a large photo i get what looks like a picture of a keyhole and my original picture wont display is this a data transfer problem or an iphoto problem and hints would be greatly appreciated thankyou

    Sharron
Are you running a Managed or a Referenced Library?
If you're running a Managed library, then it's the default setting, and iPhoto copies files into the iPhoto Library when Importing
If you're running a Referenced Library, then you made a change at iPhoto -> Preferences -> Advanced and iPhoto is NOT copying the files into the iPhoto Library when importing.
    Download BatchMod from
    http://macchampion.com/arbysoft/
And apply it to the iPhoto Library Folder using the settings found here:

  • IPhoto not displaying all imported photos

    Hi!
I am having trouble viewing all of my photos in iPhoto. They are all in my iCloud, and they appear in that photo stream. However, after I have imported *ALL* of my photos from my iPhone, iPhoto is only displaying some of them. It seems like there is an algorithm that is picking only one photo to display from a series of similar photos, (note: I am not talking about burst photos). I do a lot of shooting with my iPhone for my business, and I hate that I'm not able to access all of them in iPhoto. I also want to make sure that I am actually getting them all archived on my computer before I delete them from my phone. I have used the "Rebuild Thumbnail" function that you can access by holding down command and control when starting iPhoto. This seemed to help some, but it certainly did not restore all of the thumbnails.
I'm running a mid-2011 Macbook Air with OSX 10.10.2 and iPhoto 9.6. My iPhone is up to date also with iOS 8.1.3. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for replying Larry. I am importing via direct USB connection and importing through iPhoto app, not just syncing with iTunes. My photo library is located on my Time Capsule. But I had this problem before I relocated the library to the time capsule actually.
