Iphotos won't publish on facebook?

I have previously been able to post/publish photos from iphoto straight to facebook. Now when I go to Share - Facebbook it comes up with Do you want to set up iphoto to publish to Facebook? Cancel or Set Up. When I choose set up it open a small Facebook window, a blue bar moves (looks like it is loading the photos) and then finishes but only give me an option to Close. When I do, nothing happens, I assume the set up has happened and try to re: share them but asks me the same thing. Pls help?? There are no updates needed on my computer so unsure why this has stopped working for me?
Tks

Once I downloaded Yosemite the iphoto does not work anymore. So I went ahead and trash the app and attempted to reinstall.
Did you check, if iPhoto is really gone from the Applications folder? You should not be seeing an "Update", if you do not have iPhoto installed any longer. Make sure, it has been deleted from "Applications".
Then go to the main page of the App Store ("Featured") and search for iPhoto. If iPhoto is now showing as "Free", buy it for free to install it again.

  • IPhoto won't upload to Facebook

Over the past two days, I've been trying to upload two separate groups of photos to Facebook using the iPhoto app for the new iPad. iPhoto repeatedly fails to upload more than half of the photos, taking sometimes up to an hour to upload just 10 photos. When I try to upload the remaining photos, some will post, but again, more than half will fail. Additionally, they upload out of order.
I haven't had this issue before.

I ran across this post by Paul Griffin today:

Re: My iPhoto will not longer let me hit the Facebook icon and immediately post to Facebook.  Now it says, "Do you want to set up iPhoto to publish to Facebook?"  which you still can't do.  What gives?

Just solved it here after an hour+ of experimenting.
    Try this:
    • When you get prompted "Do you want to set up iPhoto of post to Facebook?" confirm and it will bring up your regular Facebook home page in asmall viewer window.
    • Go up to the upper right corner of the Facebook page and log out, then hit the "Close" button at the bottom of the small viewer window.
    • You'll probably get the same "Do you want to set up iPhoto to publish to Facebook?" prompt again. This time hit Cancel
    • Now try to share your pictures to Facebook again.  You'll get the "Do you want to set up iPhoto to publish to Facebook?" message again. Do it and this time hopefully you should get a prompt to login to your Facebook account. Enter your Facebook name and password. This should reset your connection.
    • If successful you should get a prompt from Facebook that you can close the page. Close it and fingers crossed, all should work again. That's what worked for me.
If that fails the workaround is to export the photos to the Desktop from iPhoto and use your browser to upload.

  • IPhoto is Not Publishing to Facebook

Is anyone else having this problem? I am trying to upload an album to FB. I have setup my account like it asks. Is says that it is publishing the thumbnails but when I check my FB account, the photos aren't there. I checked the other discussion threads but those solutions posted aren't working for me. I published one other album without a problem and now this. Any suggestions?

Thank you! Thank you! I actually had to change the name of the album I was using as a source. Renaming the album I had already attempted to publish did not work.
    1. Delete the album you originally attempted (and failed) to publish (under the Facebook tab).
    2. Go to the original album/event and rename it avoiding the &, *, or % characters.
    3. Follow the usual steps to publish to Facebook.
    4. Voila!

  • Won`t publish to Facebook Timeline

Hi, I am trying to publish an album to Facebook from Lightroom 5, however its not happening for me. Initially I was able to ghet the images on FB, but they did not appear on my timeline, nor did they appear as an album, just in my photos and no-one was able to view them. I deleted the images on FB, and also deleted the collection in LIghtroom. Now if I try to re-publish, i just get an empty album on Facebook.
I suspect there is something wrong with the lightroom publishing manager, which is now set as `IOS photos` and will not allow me to change it as its greyed out.
If anyone has any suggestions, i would be grateful, thank you

    I found the solution!
On facebook, go to your privacy settings. On the lower left, click on the edit option for "Apps and Websites". The first option is "Apps you use", click on edit settings. And then I'll bet you have the iPhoto Exporter on that list. Click the little "x" to remove it, click ok, and then you're done! Now you can go back to Aperture and successfully add a facebook account.
    Hope this helps.
(also, in my limited testing the http vs https thing doesn't make a difference).

  • Aperture won't publish to facebook.

whenever i try to upload content to facebook from aperture 3.1.1, i get a dialog box that asks me to log in. i provide my log in information and get the same error message every time:
"an unknown error occurred. please try again later."
this feature has never worked for me.
    any suggestions?

  • Lightroom 5, won't publish to facebook, error received is "An internal error has occurred: can't parse JSON at char 1 of..."

Plugin manager is showing that the FB plugin is "Installed, may not work", last diagnostic message was "This plug-in's post-processing task did not finish successfully".  I've tried reloading it, as well as starting a new catalog.

I also have the same problem with the latest update 11.3.1.2x64.  I followed all of the suggestions, cleared every last trace of itunes and apple of my windows 7 pc, no luck.  I then downloaded previous versions from www.oldapps.com/itunes.php going back about 3 - 11.3x64,  11.1.5, 11.1.2 etc, same problem.
Did a system restore to before the uninstall, then itunes was back but wouldn't start because of missing files.
Uninstalled everything again!  Same old same old.    Tried Fixit as suggested, no joy.
Then I tried the suggestion of extracting and trying to install each individually, and all except AppleSoftwareUpdate.msi worked.  Yay!!  Thank you akessa!

  • Cannot publish to Facebook and Keychain Error

I want to publish photos from iPhoto 09 to Facebook but I've got some sort of endless loop error. See the screens at the link or read my description.
    http://www.flickr.com/photos/stanomatic/4113756464/in/set-72157622701757225/
I press the Facebook icon in the lower right and I get the drop down dialog which asks "Do you want to set up iPhoto to publish to Facebook?" I click the Setup button. Then I get the iPhoto Uploader button and I put in my Email and Password. Then I get this "iPhoto wants to use the "loginrenamed2" keychain." Please enter password. So I enter the same password. I didn't make this keychain. I never use keychain and don't understand how it works or anything else about it. Then it takes me back to the original screen, "Do you want to set up iPhoto to publish to Facebook?" So the loop starts all over again.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

Keychain is what stores your passwords. Try use Keychain Access to repair them. It's in your Applications / Utilities folder.

  • IPhoto crashing when syncing with Facebook

    Software Version:
    iPhoto 9.1.3
    Problem:
The sync between iPhoto and Facebook stalls indenfinetly and iPhoto will not 'Stop and Quit" the sync when quiting iPhoto, this leaves no other option then to force quit iPhoto.
    Details:
The four albums created for Facebook in iPhoto sync fine, a number of other albums originally created on Facebook that iPhoto is now trying to sync all report as pending (indefinetly). As the Facebook sync starts whenever iPhoto is launched, the sync reduces iPhoto performance and cannont be stopped with force quitting iPhoto, the problem is making iPhoto unusable. As advertised with iPhoto it syncs with Facebook, so I cannot just delete the albums in iPhoto as they will be deleted off Facebook.
    Things not responisble:
I have checked that these albums still exist on Facebook and (obviously) that my internet connection is active.
    Possible solutions:
I do realise that I could remove Facebook from the Accounts in iPhoto, however this isn't really a solution as all does is reduces functionality.
Has anyone else had the same problem or know of a fix?
    Thanks

Aperture is suddenly, repeatedly crashing on me whenever I try to sync to Facebook.
Has anything changed, directly before these crashes started? Could you ever sync to Facebook before, running Aperture 3.4.3, or have you just upgraded to AP 3.4.3?
If you could sync to FB before, using the current Aperture version, can you still upload to FB and view your albums using the web interface, or can you not reach Facebook at all?
Your crash report shows, that the crash happens, when Aperture tries to connect to Facebook to update the photos:
    3   com.apple.Foundation                    0x00007fff96d9e538 +[NSURLConnection sendSynchronousRequest:returningResponse:error:] + 60
    4   com.apple.iPhoto.FacebookPublisher          0x0000000118003047 -[ILFacebookAPIRequest send] + 61
    5   com.apple.iPhoto.FacebookPublisher          0x0000000117ffb227 -[IPHFacebookPlugin updateDistantPropertiesFromLocalPhoto:] + 318
But I cannot tell from the information you provided, if this error is due to corrupted images in your library, a problem with your Aperture Library, or a problem with your FB account settings.
It would help, if you could make a few tests to narrow the problem down:
Can you publish to Facebook, if you import new images into your library and try to publish a  different set of images?
Can you upload to Facebook, if you create a new Aperture Library for testing
(In Aperture: File > Switch to Library > Other/New) and import a few images. Can you publish to Facebook from this library?
If another library works well, you need to repair your current library. Please read this page in the Aperture User Manual: Repairing and Rebuilding Your Aperture Library: Aperture 3 User Manual
Post back after these test - hopefully we will know more then.
    Regards
    Léonie
There was an earlier thread on locating a specific file type and deleting it but I was not able to correctly find the file to be deleted.

  • Photoshop Elements 12:  Unable to publish to Facebook

I just installed PE12 and tried publishing to Facebook.  This worked flawlessly in PE9.  PE asks me to authorize Facebook and I log in and receive a message saying that I am logged in.  I then return to PE and "complete authorization".  I was able to create an Album in Facebook from PE12, but the 9 pictures that appeared to successfully upload do not appear in Facebook.
    Any suggestions?
Using Windows 7 Ultimate and recently upgraded from PE9 to PE12.

Did they copy over your programs and settings to the new disk? You can't do that with PSE (unless you do a total system clone).
If that's the situation, you need to download and run this:
Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
And then go around and manually remove all the bits you can find from applications, hard drive>library>application support>adobe, and your username>library preferences and then reinstall from scratch. Note that spotlight won't help you with this, you have to do it yourself since spotlight is programmed to skip the files you want to find.
