Trying to configure IPMA on CCM 4.1(3).
Configured IPMA through Configuration Wizard. Added phones, manager, assistant etc and subscribed service on the manager phone. When trying to access the IPMA service from manager phone (7960) an error message stating that "A system Failure occured" appearing and not able to proceed further.
Anybody can help.....

Hi,
Thanks for that input...restarted the Tomcat service and and "system failure" error went off. Now "IPMA service is not supported on this device" error is coming when trying to access the service. The phone is 7960.

  • IPMA service: http error 404

    Hello,
    I configured IPMA service on a CCM5.
When I launch this service on an IP Phone, on the screen: http error.
I restart Tomcat, and still the same.
I checked the URL (http://@CCM:8080/ma/servlet/MAService?cmd=doPhoneService&Name=#DEVICENAME#) of the service and try it on a web browser: http status 404.
    Thanks for your help

    Useful info
The Fast Dials and Personal Address Book are now moved under the
Personal Directory Section. So on the phone go to Directories > Personal
Directory > Login using the UserID and PIN and you should see the Fast
    Dials and PAB.
This is a design change on CallManager 5.x. Till CCM Versions 4.2, PAB
and Fast Dials are composed of a set of Web pages, an IP Phone Web
Service, an ActiveX object, and a library.
5.0, the IP Phone Web Service is converted from
Active Server Pages to JavaServer Pages.
In the previous release, PD is a subscribed IP Phone Service. That is,
an administrator must provision the PD IP Phone Service prior to a user
subscribing to it. After the IP Phone Service is provisioned correctly,
a user must subscribe to the service.
+ For Seadragon, PD is not a subscription service. This eliminates the
administrator from having to provision the service. PD is a directory
that appears when the Directories icon is pressed.

  • IPMA Assistant Console: “System Error: Please contact Administrator”

    Version of CCM used 4.1(3)sr2
I have setup a 2:1 (manager (lukes & hans) : assistant(leiao)) IPMA shared line config for the first time (successfully setup 1:1 shared line configs before) and once the assistant loads IPMA Assistant Console (IPMA AC) on PC1, enters her IPMA AC credentials, click OK the assistant gets the following error message “System Error: Please contact Administrator”. I can confirm that IPMA AC works on PC1 (XP Pro SP2 Windows FW disabled) as other 1:1 assistants can log into IPMA AC successfully. leiao also gets the same message when she logs into PC2 (XP Pro SP2 Windows FW disabled) and PC3 (XP Pro SP2 Windows FW disabled ) that have IPMA AC installed. From a telephony point of view all IPMA setups (1:1 & 2:1) work as expected its just IPMA AC doesn't work for 2:1 IPMA shared line setups.
I have deleted lukes, hans and leiao device user profile and user profile, restarted the Tomcat IPMA service and re-created the profiles and still the same problem. In desperation I have even rebooted the CCM Pub & Sub and still leiao gets the message above.

I have noticed looking at the IPMA Service trace logs on CCM that CCM recognises leiao user as a ProxyLineAssistant instead of a SharedLineAssistant like all other 1:1 assistants?? I setup the managers and assistants in the 2:1 config the same as 1:1 shared line config but CCM appears to think that leiao is a ProxyLineAssistant??
Does anyone have any hints or tips on how to solve this, any further info required please let me know :-)
    Thanks for your assistance :-)
    Kind regards
    Anthony.

delete the old assistant (DWAssist). Remove it from the manager's IPMA configuration and substitute it with a new assistant (DWAssist1). After reconfiguring IPMA accordingly, restart tomcat services

Can you share a screenshot of the error?
You can try the following things getting into packet captures and traces.
    1) Remove the IPMA config from one 7970 and reconfigure it. It includes unsubscribing the ipma service and resubscribing it.
    2) Restart of IPMA and CTI services

  • IPMA error on CUCM v9.1

    Dear all,
I tried to set up a IPMA on a CUCM v9.1 but I get errors.
    I has 1 publisher and subscriber 2.
I activated IPMA just on the subscriber 1, but on the phone I can not access the service. all phones has registered on subscriber1.
In a browser I enter the following url: https://IP_CUCM_SUB1:8443/ma/servlet/MAService?cmd=doPhoneService&Name=SEPMACADDRESS
    I have the following error:

On my phone I can not start the IPMA Service. (but I see the IPMA service in the list of Service)
I have not the IPMA banner on the phone screen.

I have 404 error but it's normal, because IPMA service is just on SUB1.
I restarted the CTI and IPMA services on my subscriber and it doesn't work.
I tried to activate the IPMA service throughout the cluster, but the problem is the same.
You can find traces in attachment.
I test IPMA on CUCM v8.6 and all are working fine. I make the same config.
    Best regard.

Can you also check the LRO settings?   Although it's not required in your scenerio to disable LRO the documentation does mention you could disable it if you are experiencing tpc traffic problems..

  • Use Publisher as primary IPMA Server

    Dear Expert,
I would like to khnow if the fact of using my publisher (on a cluster of three nodes) as a primary IPMA server is a deviation of the best practice of Cisco or it can implémented without any issue. Thank you in advance.
    Nizar Houichi

    Hi Nizar,
The "best practice" as outlined in the attached link and excerpt from the SRND
recommends using a Primary-standby "pair" of Subscriber servers to support
the IPMA service in a redundant fashion.
As shown in Figure 19-9 Unified CM Assistant functionality is primarily dependent on the Cisco IP Manager Assistant service and the Cisco CTIManager service. In both cases, redundancy is automatically built-in using a primary and backup mechanism. Up to three pairs of active and backup Unified CM Assistant servers (nodes running the Cisco IP Manager service) can be defined, for a total of six Unified CM Assistant servers within a single cluster. Active and backup Unified CM Assistant server pairs are configured using the Cisco IPMA Server IP Address, Pool 2 Cisco IPMA Server IP Address, and Pool 3 Cisco IPMA Server IP Address service parameters. With the configuration of these parameters, the required Cisco IP Manager service is made redundant. Given a failure of any of the primary Unified CM Assistant servers, the backup or standby Unified CM Assistant servers are able to handle Unified CM Assistant service requests. For each pair of Unified CM Assistant servers, only one Unified CM Assistant server can be active and handling request at a given time, while the other Unified CM Assistant server will be in a standby state and will not handle requests unless the active server fails.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/srnd/8x/cmapps.html#wp1043843
That being said, you can include the Publisher here (perhaps as a standby)
as second choice so that the Pub can be left primarily for call processing tasks
    Cheers!

  • 4.1(3) IPMA Config Information

    Hi Guys,
I am messing around with 4.1(3) trying to get the config info out of it for IPMA.
So far I've looked at the following sources..
IPMAUser table in SQL (Still trying to work out exactly what this means and how it works)
TelecasterSubscribedService table in SQL - I can query for devices subscribed to the IPMA manager service
CTI RP details - I havent looked this up yet.. assume its in SQL device table - I will check the IPMA RP here and get the line configs
Device tables again - can determine assistants by their softkey templates..
Will get some info out of the line info also, like matching CTI RP DN's to Manager DN's (obviously in different partitions)
What I am still having trouble with is mapping managers to assistants.. this is configured in the user pages.. so maybe some of it is in DC Directory.. and maybe the rest of the config is actually in the IPMA service itself somewhere..
Going to dig around some more.. but has anyone got any good tips here?
I can also use AXL to pull user info etc.. but I dont think it contains IPMA config info in the response..
Or does anyone know any other sources or ways to get this info out?
    Cheers,
    Tim

  • IPMA installation

    Couple of quetions,
    1. Is there any function difference to install IPMA between Wizard and Manual?
    2. To install manually, can I skip the IPMA service parameter(CCM > Service)?
    3. IPMA server setting in the IPMA console. what should I put? I only able to put SUB@ which my call processing server and I have a error message "Unable to connect server" when put the PUB@.
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi,
To re-run the IPMA wizard...from jason post:
Using SQL Enterprise Manager, open up your CCM03XX database. Go into Tables, and find the table named 'Scratch'. Right-click on it, pick Open Table, and pick Return All Rows. There are a lot of lines in this table. The ones you're looking for have 'IPMA-WIZARD-RUN-STATUS' and 'IPMA-STATUS' in the Name column. Delete these rows. There could be multiple instances of them - there is on my database, but I'm pretty sure that's due to me hacking around. At any rate, be sure you kill all instances of those lines.
This will delete all the information that the IPMA Wizard stores on whether or not it's been run and what it was run with.
When you go to Service|Service Parameters|Cisco IP Manager Assistant. The SUB should be the primary.
If you are getting an error when using PUB but connects using SUB, its completitley normal, since IPMA service will be active only in one server at a time.
    http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/voice/c_callmg/4_1/sys_ad/4_
    1_3/ccmfeat/fsipma.htm#wp1071218
    Check this part:
"The Cisco IPMA service gets installed on all Cisco CallManager servers in a cluster. When
started, the IPMA service checks to see whether it is one of the IPMA servers that are
configured in the clusterwide service parameter, Primary IPMA Server (Primary) IP Address.
If it is, the IPMA service attempts to become the active Cisco IPMA service. Currently, a
Cisco CallManager cluster supports only one active Cisco IPMA service"
Cisco IPMA provides support for redundancy. To achieve redundancy, you must configure a
second Cisco IPMA service in the same cluster.
[...] IPMA implements redundancy by using an active/standby server model. At any time,
only one IPMA server remains active and servicing all desktop applications and phones. The
other server stays in a standby mode and will detect failures on the active server. When
it detects a failure, the backup server takes over and becomes the active server. All
connections that were active get restored on the new server, and service continues
    uninterrupted to the users

  • Error message UCM subscriber

Getting error on UCM SUB every minute
And the thread count on the tomcat service is over 2000
The IPMA service is running, I've restarted the tomcat and IPMA service but still seeing error
This is only happening on 1 of the SUB in cluster, the PUB and other SUB are fine.  The only recent change is we are testing CUPS and have recently activated a handful of CSF devices for users using Jabber, but that seems to be ok.

Looks like it might be this issue:

Unable to connect to IPMA service with the http 503 error
You are unable to connect to IPMA service from assistant console and       the http 503 error appears. The HTTP 503 error       indicates a web issue that is related to tomcat service.
When you attempt to restart the Tomcat service, this       error message appears that indicated an issue with CTI Manager:

This issue occurs because the CTIManager is not configured on the IPMA       service parameter. Choose Cisco Unified Serviceability > Tools >       Control Center - Feature Services on CUCM and restart the       Cisco CTIManager in order to resolve this issue.

I have the same problem, did you resolve it ?
Our Customer have about 50 IPMA and there are work. The problem is only with 4 IPMA Assistance (always the same). Sometimes (few times in week) lost  Assistance  icon Managers, and Managers doesn’t see shared lines, Intercom, services IPMA on phone doesn’t work. But sometimes Assistant icon is showing but Manager don’t see active connection and can’t call via Intercom.
Assistance have 7962 Phone with load cmterm-7942_7962-sccp.9-2-3.cop.sgn
Managers have 7965 Phone with load cmterm-7945_7965-sccp.9-2-3.cop.sgn
    CUCM (PUB/SUB) is 8.6.2.20000-2
I opened a TAC case already but the problem is not resolved.

What does "run sql select * from ipmauser" show?
Did you do the Manager Configuration and Assistant Configuration on the 2 end users in CUCM?

  • IPMA CUCM 9.1

    Hi all,
Can the manager via his phone do something so all the calls go directly to him without go first to the Assistant?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
There is no such option on the manager IP phone to divert the calls to the manager from the assistant phone. The working of IPMA shared line and proxy line mode is explained in the Features and services guide
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/admin/9_1_1/ccmfeat/CUCM_BK_C3E0EFA0_00_cucm-features-services-guide-91/CUCM_BK_C3E0EFA0_00_cucm-features-services-guide-91_chapter_01110.html

  • Error while invoking a WS-Security secured web service from Oracle BPEL..

    Hi ,
We are facing some error while invoking a WS-Security secured web service from our BPEL Process on the windows platform(SOA 10.1.3.3.0).
For the BPEL process we are following the same steps as given in an AMIS blog : - [http://technology.amis.nl/blog/1607/how-to-call-a-ws-security-secured-web-service-from-oracle-bpel]
but sttill, after deploying it and passing values in it,we are getting the following error on the console :-
“Header [http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2004/08/addressing:Action] for ultimate recipient is required but not present in the message”
Any pointers in this regard will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Saurabh

    Hi James,
    Thanks for the quick reply.
We've tried to call that web service from an HTML designed in Visual Studios with the same username and password and its working fine.
But on the BPEL console, we are getting the error as mentioned.
Also if you can tell me how to set the user name and password in the header of the parter link.I could not find how to do it.
    Thanks,
    Saurabh
