IPOD 20GB SYNCED ERROR

I got this error message after downloading Itunes 7.2 to my computer. Can not be synced. An unknown error occured
{-50}. Can anybody help me.

Lately I've been getting errors saying iPod cannot sync, error -48. However, it seems to sync fine. What's going on?

I have started to get these errors as well?
First time I used Restore which seemed to fix it until the next time I tried to sync having added several CD's worth of music when I got the -48 error. This time I also got an error reporting it was unable to sync as another programme was using the iPod?
Anyway this time I zapped the iPod with Disc Utility and restored it again, so far so good. But I expect it will need an iPod software update to fix it for good in the end. Lets hope Apple post one out soon.

I agree with Ingo2711. Here are the steps to fix the issue:
The steps are kinda long but they work.
This is for windows computers with iPod nano that get the error 13019 during or after a sync with iTunes.
-Open itunes
--click, edit, click preferences
--select advanced
---make a note of the iTunes media folder location on a notepad.
---put a check in organize files
---take the check out of copy files
---click ok
--Click file, at the top of iTunes
--move mouse over library, select organize, and consolidate files. ( This ensures all music in you iTunes will be in the iTunes media folder later.)
At this point, if you have playlists you want to save:
-Create a folder on your desktop, call it, playlists
--Hover you mouse over your playlist in iTunes, should be at the bottom of the blue/grey column on the left.
--right click the playlist, select export playlist
--Navigate to your desktop and open the playlist folder and save.
---Do this for each playlist you want to save
-Close itunes
-Click your start button, and open computer or my computer
--Using what you wrote down on your note pad, follow the path to the "iTunes folder", NOT the iTunes media folder
--Open the iTunes folder.
--Stop here
-You will see icons that look like folders and you will see icons that look like files-
-You will KEEP the FOLDERS
-You will DELETE the FILES
--If it makes you more comfortable you can cut the files out and paste on your desktop, but as of now we do not need the files any longer as we have the playlists backed up. Remember-Keep the folders.
--That was the magic--
-Disconnect your iPod if connected.
-When you open your iTunes, it will be empty, that is OK. We are recreating the library. Everything will come back in a few seconds.
-Click file at the top
--Select, add FOLDER to library, not to be confused with add file.
--In the window that pops up, locate and click on computer or my computer
--From here follow the path to the iTunes media folder on your note pad, but do not open the iTunes media folder.
--Click the iTunes music/media folder one time so it highlights.
--On the bottom right you will have option to select folder, or choose folder or OK. Hit that button.
All you music will start to import back into iTunes.
-Plug in iPod after completed
--a message pops up about being synced with a different library.
--Click erase and sync
--Watch all your songs go on your iPod with no error message.
From here you may sync your iPod the way you want with out worrying about the persnickety error 13019!!!!!

--move your mouse over library, selecte import playlist
--on the new screen that pops up, navigate to your desktop

I have a 2nd gen IPod nano 4 GB. I had Itunes 7.1 installed on my PC when I last synced. A week later my disk crashed and in the new disk I installed Itunes 7.2. When I tried to sync, I get a error message which says " disk is write protected. Please remove write protect and sync again "

No, you can use a third party program like Yamipod, or XPlay2, etc. But I would advise you to download iTunes anyhow, even if you have to go to another computer and then burn it to a CD or something.

Ipod Video Sync Error "Disk not found"

I tried to sync my old ipod video to with my new itunes library so I could put add additional 20G on. But when I went to sync it, I got a red error message reading "The ipod could not be synced because the disk could not be found." Does anyone know what this means or how to fix it?

Have you tried putting your iPod into Disk Mode? For more information on how to do this see the link below. Also, it may be a good idea to restore the iPod, unless you don't have your music backed up somewhere. Hope this helps.

Ipod touch sync error 9

help just brought a new Ipod Touch and wanted to use it with my old itunes account the the many dollars worth of songs etc that I had. But every time I go to sync it tells me that my ipod is in restore mode, goes to restore and fails at the last second and gives me an error 9 message. This is very frustrating and does not seem to be easily solved. RB

I have the same problem with the same configuration of ipod and itunes . i have read all the posts about voice memos etc but these don't apply to me. I have recently reset the ipod in an attemptt to fix the problem - so no music at all on it. Even now with no other apps set to sync it will not sync even 1 song without throwing up the same error message. So i am at a complete loss as to what to do next.

How to fix ipod calendar sync error?

I'm having the strange experience of seeing time and date shifts of my ical data when viewing them on my ipod. iCal seems to work fine. It shows up dates and events as expected. When syncing this to my ipod I get Monday events on Sunday and such. I've tried completely erasing my ipod, reformatting and reinstalling everything but the same errors get repeated in the syncing process. I've reset isync history in isync preferences. I've removed com.apple.isync.plist and restarted. I've backed up iCal data and restored it to iCal. I've deleted some events. Synced iCal to my ipod and then reentered the events before resyncing again. Nothing I can think of seems to matter. Music plays fine and is all there. Contacts are syncing just fine. Pictures store ok. It's just ical data that's weird. What should I try next? Oh yes, I've repaired permissions on my mac and I have restarted the computer a number of times.

So i have an Ipod Classic 6th Gen, 80gb. It will start sync then slow right down to snail speed then eventually come up with
Attempting to copy to dick "Nickys Ipod" failed. Unknown error occurred (-69)
Also followed with
The Ipod "Nickys Ipod" cannot be synced. A duplicate filename was specified.
It will then just stop the sync after only about 200 odd songs. Ive restored the ipod and have also reinstalled itunes as it was previously just freezing itunes everytime the ipod was connected. Im also running Windows vista if this helps. PLEASE HELP!!

Cannot delete mail from ipod touch & "syncing error"

I get this error message "unable to move message" and "the message could not be moved to the mailbox trash". When I tap on settings and mail,contacts,calendars I get "accounts are currently syncing. Please help.

Not possible, that would defeat the convenience of webmail/touch syncing. If your concern is security (ie, someone finds or steals your touch), set the touch to Autolock in Settings. With this feature enabled, someone would need to enter a password to see your email (or do anything else with your touch).

IPod Classic Syncing Error

I have an iPod Classic 80GB from a few years ago. and everything works well besides i cannot sync it or see my music that was on it before it started to have issues. I can still scroll throught the menus, so it is not the OS, but i cannot see my music in the menus, and it says it is there if i go under info and look at the memory used. Also when i try to sync it to itunes, it either crashes it(this happens 90% of the time), or it asks to reformat, then after a while says it cannot be reformatted.
And i tried reformating it on my friend's mac and it would not work either. I have windows 7
Any ideas? It is well past it's warranty.

I have an appointment with an "Apple genius" at the apple store on wednesday so will let you know how get on.
On the phone to apple support the other day they suggested it could be my pc...however have just stnced my library sucessfully to my wifes nano - she doesnt like music though! so to me that means that it cannot be the PC?
GLNHP - thanks for you post, I have tried restore so many times I have lost count so it cannot be that. Also, thought about a sonng being corrupt so I exclude the song where it stopped for the next sync and it still stops, just on another song, again at the 2GB stage.
Any more suggestions will be well received and will post to say what has happended at the apple store.

Ipod Video Sync error -54

Have anyone else had a problem when there updating there ipod to there new macbook?
Every time I try to update my ipod, a notice comes up and says it can´t because of error -54.
It has updated about 6GB but stops all the time with the same notice,I have the most recent updateed Itunes.
Any out there whom can help me?

Ipod sync errors out with "unknown error -69"

The problem I'm having has been happening ever since I upgraded to iTunes v7.x and I cannot backup to v6.x on any of my computers. This problem is only happening on my XP Pro SP2 computers with most up to date patches. The hardware is from two different manufacturers, error is the same.
My iPod is a 20GB with a dock (four buttons above the wheel). It has firmware v2.3 and is formatted for Windows.
The problem does NOT occur on either of my Mac OSX 10.3.9 iBook computers.
In all 4 cases I have used the same exact music files and first tests I created library files just prior to synchronizing. As noted, the XP computers fail partway through the synchronizing. It can fail at 3 files, or 500, but it fails. I can restart the sync and have it go a little further then fail.
I've copied the Mac library files to the XP computers and still the XP computers fail to sync properly. I've copied the XP library files to the Mac computers and they continue to work properly.
I've swapped firewire cables with a friend and had it fail. He's tried his iPod and it has failed (he syncs against his Mac with success). I've used a USB cable and had it fail. I've tried unplugging everything and using every single firewire and usb port on my computer one at a time and every time it's failed.
I found a link on here to remove a registry setting for high filter and low filter for the USB but could not remove the settings...being that I primarily use firewire, I gave up on that idea.
I've tried the 5 R's so many times on my poor iPod it doesn't know what it's up to.
In a nut shell I've tried EVERYTHING I can find on here that's the least bit relevant and nothing fixes the problem. I took it to an Apple store and their solution was for me to pay more to have the unit replaced than it would cost to replace it with a 30GB video iPod....sounds pretty dumb to me to pay more for less.

I went to another Apple store today and again brought up the issue of my iPod not syncing. As I mentioned before I've attempted to sync using two XP Pro computers with identical music files, different hardware but fully up to date XP Pro, including iTunes. Both failed. Identical music files on two iBooks running OSX (10.3.9) with up to date iTunes synced every time.
Add to this that I went to two different friends with very different music libraries and had problems on their machines as well (both XP machines, one home, one Pro)...neither person had problems with syncing their newer iPods.
At the store the guy did a restore of the iPod (something I've done many times) and he tested some 300 music files with no problem. He restored it again and gave it back to me.
I brought the iPod home and successfully synced 3853 music files with ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEMS! I don't have any clue what was different when he did the restores, but it worked.
Of note, before anyone asks, everytime I've ever tried a sync on all of my computers or my friends computers, I've always triggered a restore to try to fix the iPod.
