Ipod 30 GB and Canon SD450 - No Card Inserted

I have a 30 GB Color ipod and recently purchased the photo connector. My Canon SD450 digital camera is listed as one of the compatible cameras, but when I connect the camera via the cable/connected, I get this message "No Card Inserted" message and the photos don't get imported. Has anyone run into this?

Hi,
There doesn't appear to be any way to cancel a post but you can delete all the content by editing it within 15 minutes.
You should see an icon to the left of the usual ones (Replay & Email) after you have posted which you click to go to edit mode.

IPod Camera Connector and Canon Powershot Pro1 - No card inserted

Good evening everyone - I'm hoping that somebody can help me out.
I received a 5G - iPod Video 60 GB for Christmas. I had hoped to use it as a digital camera storage solution as I am an avid amateur photographer.
I quickly ran out to the Apple store and purchased a camera connector, as the Canon Pro1 was on the list of approved hardware.
Every time I connect the two devices, I get a message on the iPod screen saying "connecting..." for about 5 seconds, and then the message on the screen changes to "no card inserted".
I have been doing some reading on this forum, and have taken the advise of many and have updated my iPod to version 1.1, and am still having no luck.
I am using the cable that came with the camera. When I plug the camera into the iPod, it turns the camera on, as if I were connecting it to my computer - so it is sensing that it is connected to something - but that's it - noting else happens.
I am quite frustrated. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. I would greatly appreciate any feedback anyone can share with me.

Updated to 10.8.4 and can't read cards inserted in Sonnet Dio USB 3.0 Pro Media Reader now

I got the following message on my screen when I insert a card in the reader. I had no trouble reading cards before I upgraded. I looked on the Sonnet site for a fix, but could not find any.
Anyone aware of a fix?

Instead of pointing the finger at OS X why aren't you looking towards the developer of the device to see if it's compatibalble with 10.8.4? 10.8.4 is extremely stable, so I doubt its the OS. I suspect there is something in the device that may make it incompatible with 10.8.4. However you can try some fundamentals such a Repairing Disk Permissions in Disk Utiltity or doing 2-3 SMC resets.

IPod and Canon 350d

I'm going to get an iPod Video (30 Gb) to be used as download tool of my camera using the iPod camera connector.
I have a Canon 350d: on the apple site, this model is not in the list of compatible model: any experiences using canon 350d with iPod via apple connector?
Moreover: when I download picture into iPod, Do the iPod save them using the original format (i.e. size) or is going to manipulate them?

Took it out of box, plugged it in and it worked with prompts, downloaded sample of 11 (off) 3 to 4 Mb JPEG photos straight to the iPod and surprise, surprise, I could even view the photos which I was not expecting until next connected iPod to laptop from Appple product information. A good buy and cheaper than extra memory cards for my camera. "

see what has happend is i bought my daughter a new ipod and we used the old apple id to set it up witch is my wifes email address.we also bought her itunes gift cards witch she reedemed.but the problem we are having is because its my wifes email when i send her a message its going to my daughters ipod as well.so is it possible to change the email address on my daughters ipod so she has her own account.and then transfer the balance of the gift card.

Make sure that you can access the Internet on your computer or device.
Make sure that your computer meets the iTunes minimum system requirements.

When I called Apple (after wating 42 min. for a live person) I was told to run the APPLE Software Update and turn off location services then restart my computer. There were no available updates. The iPod touch I got on Christmas day. The iTunes app was downloaded the same day. Since day 1 I have not been able to connect. After restarting my computer:
From the iTunes app I click on the 'iTunes Store'
A new window opens and I get the following message:

Please review your account information
So I click on 'Review' and am taken to a crude screen that says

To begin creating your Apple ID, click Continue.
So I click on 'Continue'
A pop up window says:
We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error occurred (-1202).
There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later.
And the only option I am left with is to click 'OK'
After every fix this same scenerio just loops and loops and loops

Welcome to Apple Support Communities
When you erase an iPod touch, your information, apps and settings are deleted and iOS is back to factory settings. If she wanted an iPod touch with camera, she should return it after erasing it. Note that the iPod touch doesn't store her credit card information

Is there a way to find out the ipod that bought and download music from my acct? My credit card was charged over $150.00 and my kids didn't do it

Is there a way to identifiy who bought and downloaded music from iTunes from my account. I looked at my kids touches and they don't have the music downloaded. Over $150.00 have been charged to my credit card.

First things first is you absolutely NEED to change your iTunes password, and possibly even your email password as well for that account.
Secondly, you can get help with fraudulent purchases through the iTunes support site. http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/
Click iTunes Store Account and Billing and there's a section about Billing Inquiries.
After purchases, they should be emailing you invoices within a few days of the purchase. You can use that as reference to what was purchased, so that will help you determine if it was legitimate or not. Simply look at the kid's iPod/iPad/iPhone and see if it is on their device. Since you're all sharing the same account, you won't be able to tell which device purchased it.
You're welcome to disregard the above statements if you'd like, since I reread your question and notice that you did already look at your kid's devices.
Please change your email and itunes password immediately!

Downloading Movies from Canon SD450

I just got a new iMac and so far I have had good luck. I use a little point and shoot camera from time to time, which also takes video (Canon SD450). It does not show up as a device, which is no big deal because aperture sees it and I am able to import my photos.
The problem is, how do I download the .AVI's the camera records? Canon does not have an app for OS X, is there a native app in OS X that can download the video? if so, how?
This camera is on apples supported device list. I also have a Canon 20D that does not show as a device either, except in aperture.
I am a former windows user, so dumb it down for me :P

Sorry... I should have read Canon's site further:
"Also, movie files shot with PowerShot cameras cannot be downloaded in OS X via Image Capture or iPhoto. We suggest the use of ImageBrowser or an external card reader."
I guess I will purchase a more robust card reader.

My ipod told me that i had to put in a credit card and because of that i put in my moms wit her permission. but the thing is i do not want to use the money on her credit card. i hav a 10 dollar itunes gift card in it already and none of it is used up. i want to use that money

Open iTunes on your computer. In the iTunes Store log into your iTunes Store account and view your account. Select Edit Payment Information. In the credit card choices I would choose None. That will remove your Mom's CC info. Next under iTunes Gift Cards and Certificates click the little arrow to redeem your Gift Card. Then follow the instrction to redeem your GC.
You can also do this on your iPod, but it is more complicated to describe how to do it and to actually do it. It is easier to do in the iTunes on your computer.
