IPod 30 GB Video rattles when shaked.

Hi..
When i shake my IPod a little something inside it rattels...not much just a little bit...is that normal or a fault ?

Hold it flat, facing up, turn it over. If, when it reaches the mid point and produces a slight, single click when you begin to rotate it face down, this is normal.
Othewise, it is not normal, and also, stop shaking your iPod!

I originally owned a first generation iPhone (Love it!) but still couldn't resist and got a "3G S" unfortunately I encountered plenty of anomalies with three different ones. If anyone is going through the following, please help acknowledge this to Apple:
first iPhone 3G S - Calls dropped constantly, GPS was "lost" (will give the incorrect location) most of the time.
Second iPhone 3G S (as first replacement) - calls would fail even when the signal showed full service, silence button rattled (loose).
third iPhone 3G S (as second replacement) - I currently have it as of (7/13/09) No signal what-so-ever and when it does the phone doesn't know what the 3G network is because is always on Edge in San Francisco Area (Pacific Heights) to be exact. now I cannot even access "Visual Voice Mail" I get this Welcome to AT&T recording, maps won't work, even safari doesn't load.
I Love Apple and the iPhone's new features but it has disappointed me way beyond that I can handle, today a few minutes later after I got my second replacement I called the store to notify that i had gotten another bad unit and I was told to come back and the geniuses would help me (AGAIN) when I went back I was told to go home, restore the phone and if that didn't work then I could make another appointment [What happened to the products one would take out of the box and be ready to use?] I will return the iPhone tomorrow and I'll get another one when the issues have been resolved.
BTW I would pay those $600 plus the nasty CA tax if Apple would make the iPhones 3G S like the first generation does EVERYBODY like the plastic back?

ok, got it figured out. Consistently I can do this on my 3g, my daughters 3gs and my 3gs. If you hold the phone at the bottom in your right hand and the palm of your hand is touching the right side bottom of the phone (the battery indicator side lower right), the signal will drop in anywhere from 10 to 60 seconds. If you remove your hand from that side it will come back. I went to AT&T and did it to an employees phone too. Some covers will also cause havoc even though it is made of plastic. I have a silver back case cover made by Ultra in hong kong. My daughter has a plastic case that is chrome plated on the back made by MORE. It blocks the signal when it is on. She had 3g when she walked into her work but when she gets to her desk... it searches, eventually no signal. The chrome plating apparently has an affect on the antenna. I had her remove the cover, 3g came back at her desk location at work. Put my cover on hers and still easily with 3g. So, apparently the hand , some cases or body parts touching that side of the phone will affect your signal. Here is a youtube video I've posted to show you. IPod Classic video stops when plugged into external speakers

Whenever I'm playing video and plug my iPod Classic into external speakers (doesn't matter the speakers, it happens with all of them), the video stops playing and the screen behaves as if I'd pressed the "Menu" button. Extremely annoying when playing video playlists.

Yep, it's through the dock. I don't get why Apple keeps "updating" and taking away features. It happened when at first you could shuffle "songs" and "videos", and the videos would play as such. Now they play as "songs", only audio without video.

Firewire supposed to work on 30GB ipod w/video?

I finally got a firewire to dock cable for my old 40GB iPod and it went kablooey...bought a new 30GB iPod w/video and when I plugged it into the firewire on my iMac I got an error message saying firewire wasn't supported!!

This news is akin to the raid on Pearl Harbor in terms of freshness. Your iPod comes with a USB cable and the FW can still be used to charge it (handy to charge on a computer not synced to the iPod), so why fret?

Ipod nano(video) help

I just purchased a new Ipod nano video 4g
and i synced some songs onto it
and when i look on my ipod there are no songs
but it says in settings ive used like 800mb and it says its all in "other"
and i cant delete it or find it and dont know what to do
i just want some music on my ipod..

ok i have my ipod back to factory
there is nothing on it
so now im really mad cause i tried again to put songs on it but it just doesnt work
like i sync all the songs onto my ipod nano video
and when i look around theres no songs they just go into the ipod somwhere and are shown as "other" when i look into settings

ITunes keeps saying that my 60GB iPod with Video is corrupted when it's not

I have an 60GB iPod with Video that iTunes keeps saying is corrupted when I connect it to my MacBook Pro. Although it seems to only happen after using it for more than a short amount of time before syncing it. I just watched a 5 minute video after I ejected my iPod and when I synced it after that, iTunes did not say it was corrupted. Although when I used it for over 3 hours earlier today and synced it, iTunes said it was corrupted. When iTunes says it is corrupted, I eject the iPod and resync it, and it's always fine the second time. This issue has been ongoing for a month or two now and it's starting to get annoying. I bought the iPod last June.

it can be some corrupted files or bad sectors on the HD of your iPod, see doing the following helps
For Mac computer
1. Open the disk utility, hope your iPod appears there (left hand side), highlight it
2. Go to Tab “Partition”, click either “Delete” or “Partition”, if fails, skip this step and go to 3
3. Go to Tab “Erase” , choose Volume Format as “MAC OS Extended (Journaled), and click Erase, again if fails, skip it and go to 4
4. Same as step 3, but open the “Security Options....” and choose “Zero Out Data” before click Erase. It will take 1 to 2 hours to complete.
5. Eject your iPod and do a Reset
6. Open the iTunes 7 and click “Restore”

My iPod Video hangs when changing track

Just now, my iPod Video hung when changing to another track... So I had to reset it (something I don't want to do). Does anyone have the same problem?
By the way, I didn't charge my iPod till it says it's full. How much would it affect the battery capacity? (It only last for about 5 to 6 hours...)

Drive not Valid error when syncing iPod 80Gb Video

As a relative iPod newbie I am still feeling my way around the system, but I have run out of ideas with my new iPod.
I have the latest versions of all the software and the XP SP2 WMC updates. Adding music is no problem to iTunes but when you come to sync the iPod, all goes well until it finishes the sync process when the PC shows an error message "Drive no longer valid" followed by the options to CONTINUE, RETRY or CANCEL. Only CANCEL gets rid of the message but the iPod shows DO NOT DISCONNECT even though it is up to date. The only way to get the iPod to resume normal service is to use the iPod diagnostics to check the iPod at which point when it says all is well it returns the system to a stable state. I have tried both syncing by inserting the iPod into its dock as well as by using the FILE menu from iTunes. Nothing seems to work and it does not do it every time.
Any ideas before this thing is consigned to the bin?

I purchased a movie, i selected it to sync, i watched itunes copy to my ipod, it shows up in itunes under "on this ipod", but does not appear on ipod under videos app.

to recap:
i purhased a movie (SD version of Harry Potter & the Sorcerer's Stone) through the itunes store.
in itunes, under my ipod, i checked next to movie to indicate that i wanted it to sync
in itunes, when i checked the movie, the amount of space for video grew, as expected
i sync'ed my ipod,
i watched the progress bar as itunes told me it was copying the movie
no errors were reported
in itunes, under the "On this iPod" the movie says it's there
in itunes
on my ipod, under video, i do not see the movie
when i search my ipod for "harry" nothing come up
kinda feeling like i just threw $9.99 in the trash.

Itunes/Ipod Touch Video Playback Problem

Hi all!
I am asking all you Ipod guru's for some help and insights, as I am getting slightly frustrated...
Background:
For a project at work I am trying to set up a video podcast feed with video's we have created for our customer.
The idea is that everyone at upcoming management conference will receive a Ipod Touch, with some easy explanation on how to -through a feed- download all our video's for them.
For that purpose I have set up a testfeed (checked and doublechecked) to get the videos into Itunes.
The feed works, the channels and videos show up under Podcasts and the videos are playable in Itunes (latest update) with no problems.
Now the problems start:
When I connect an Ipod Touch, check manual syncing (I don't want to touch what is already on there), and drag the videos to the Ipod, the videos only show up under the 'recently added' category. The channel does not even show, and even though they are videos.
I can play the videos from there in Itunes, and they work fine.
When I eject the Ipod, and then want to watch the videos, I have to really search for them: they are under Music (!!), under 'recently added', and only play the sound, not the video (although the first frame of the video is shown).
To try and circumvent the problem I directly imported the video into Itunes, instead of through the feed (although that totally negates the whole idea to begin with), the videos nicely show up under the Video category in Itunes.
When dragged from there to the Ipod, all works. As I then want to see those newly added videos on the Ipod, they NOW promptly show up in the video category, and play perfectly, with image and sound, and fullscreen.
So, the problem is not with the video itself. What am I doing wrong?
(nothing has changed in the videos at all from the beginning of the process, the videos were already Ipod-ready)
Any thoughts, where do the problems originate? Can I do something in the feed already, or...?
Any ideas will be most welcome!

P.S. it's also impossible to delete the uploaded video's that ended in the 'recently added' category

Since I've read similar threads on this, I have to think it's a bug.
What if you create a playlist in iTunes with the Podcast's name on it?
I can't really think of any other way around this until it gets fixed.
Oh, and send Apple feedback on this issue - it will help bring it to their attention.
