Ipod 4. Camera OK, but when i use Instagram the shutter speed is slow,

so my Ipod Touch is still under warranty until the end of November. over the last few months Instagram has been slow to take pictures, it takes several seconds like 6-7 for the camera to actually take the picture.  But I also can't click on "next" within IG after taking the picture to send it. I have to click the small thumbnail of what I just took on the bottom left of the IG screen, it takes me to Camera Roll and I have to reselect the pic, and then I can "crop" and pick a filter, etc. before it will let me click on Next to send thru to IG.  occasionally it also says "error launching camera, please try again".
I have uninstalled the IG app, reinstalled it and made sure it is up to date with the App Center.  My regular camera on the Ipod (altho the cam resolution has never been great,) takes pics fine and without delay, but has anyone else had this problem.
If it is still under warranty should I send it in for a replacement while I can, i can see these few errors now could possibly be fixed by sending it in and getting a replacement unit, I just know the day after the warranty is over, the entire thing will probably break.
Any suggestions?  Just didnt know if anyone else had had this problem too with their camera and the IG app.
