Ipod 4, screen isn't clear

My son just got an ipod 4th generatoin for Christmas.  The screen is already acting up though.  At times, the text on is hard to read.  You can see the apps and pictures are just fine, it's only text.  Anyone have any ideas what we can do to fix this???

Maybe this:
iPhone and iPod touch: Home screen icons are magnified or large
Otherwise:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • IPod touch screen isn't responding plus warranty question

My brother just got a brand new 8gb iPod Tocuh for Christmas and today, all of a sudden, the screen (or touchscreen) has stopped responding. I connected to iTunes, backed it up, restored the iPod itself and then loaded the backup onto the iPod again and it still wouldn't work. I can only see myself taking it to the Apple Store as the possible solution. Any advice before taking it back to Apple?
The other problem is, the iPod was bought in the US and we live in Croatia. Being that the iPod is only a couple of weeks old, I'm sure the 1 year warranty is still valid but will they accept the warranty here at the local Apple store?
    Thanks

Sounds like it does need to be exchanged under warranty. I did notice you restoreed it using a backup. You may want to try restoring as a new ipod. Doubt it will fix it, but maybe. As for the warranty, it doesn't matter where purchased, the warranty is valid in any apple store. Good luck!

    If covered by warranty. See:
Apple - Support - Check Your Service and Support Coverage
Then if the iPod is within warranty, not abused Apple will exchange it at no cost. You can do it at an Apple store

  • When I put in my earphones to listen to music the sound isn't clear and I have to push and hold them in it in order for it to be. It's not the earphones because I use them in my laptop and they work fine. Is there a way to fix this problem?

Whenever I put my earphones into my iPod Touch 2g the music isn't clear and I have to push and hold them in order to hear the song normally. It isn't the earphones because I tried another pair, that worked fine, and there was still no difference. I also use the same pair of earphones in my laptop and it sounds great. Is there a way to fix this problem without having to buy a brand new iPod touch? Do I need to clean it or something? And if so, how would I go about doing that? Thanks!

    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.
If still problem that indicates you have a bad headphone jack.
Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours. Likely not worth it for your old 2G iPod

  • My iPod touch screen went fuzzy with pink and white stripes

Hello! I really appreciate if anyone would tell me what's wrong with my iPod touch.
I have been using my iPod touch for less than a year, and honestly, I have quite a bad habit: I always use it for playing games. And sometimes, I even use it while it is charging. Usually it's fine, nothing went wrong, so I keep doing the same thing sometimes.
one day, I'm visiting my relative and tried to charge my iPod. Since my iPod doesn't have an adaptor, I usually charge it using my laptop (the seller told me to charge it in a laptop/computer). One day, I borrowed my cousin's laptop to charge my iPod, but she only gave me an adaptor (not made for iPod or any apple products, but it fits so I thought it's okay). But the next day, I found out that my iPod went off by itself and I know that my battery isn't low.
I Tried to charge it using my laptop at home, but it still went off! Also, it went normal in my laptop (the iTunes appeared automatically, as a sign that my iPod is charging). So, I tried to restore it and I worked (at least I thought so), until I saw my screen went fuzzy (pink and white stripes). So, almost everyday I turn off my iPod, turn it on again, wait for a while, then use it normally. Usually it lasts 'normal' for hours, but it will still be error as usual.
    So, my question is:
What makes my iPod touch screen went fuzzy?
Is it because I used it while charging?
Is it because I charged it with an adaptor that is not made for Apple products?
please help me, I don't know what else to do! I have restored it, I didn't download many applications like I used to before, and I left it alone when I was charging (I didn't play it while it's charging any more), and I even didn't turn on the Wi-Fi if I'm not using it (I almost NEVER turn off the Wi-Fi before my iPod touch went error)
    Thank you for answering..

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • IPod main screen shows "No Music" even though...

My ipod main screen shows "No Music", "No Videos" "No Pictures" etc... and when I click on music, for example, it shows no bands, no nothing. BUT when I go to settings it shows I have 67.6 GB free space. meaning I have around 53 GB of files on my ipod (It's a classic 120G ipod). I've tried restarting it, and it didn't help. I think if I restore default settings I'd lose all the files. Has anyone experienced this? Can anyone help? I'm desperate! They're in there somewhere.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync (from your description it is not clear you did that)
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

Bring your phone and $199 to the Apple store for an out of warranty exchange of your phone.  You clearly broke it when you dropped it.

  • Can i set up an iphone 3GS when my left bottom of my screen isn't responding? (Can't click on '123' button)

So I got an old iPhone 3GS from a friend.
He said he would reset it for me. He also said that sometimes the bottom of the screen isn't responding (only when you use the keyboard).
Now I'm home and I want to set-up the iphone with my icloud and such.
But I can't type my password when I'm in the first time setup on the phone.
Is it possible to do this trough iTunes?
'Cause you can't flip the keyboard on screen 90 degrees.

  • My iPod touch screen is dark, brightness setting all the way up. how do I get it back to normal?

My iPod touch screen is dark, brightness is completely up and can barely see it. Started all of a sudden.

I am experiencing the same problem.  There are lots of discussion threads on this topic.  Several people have had short term luck restoring their touch or wiping it clean and starting as a new ipod again. Not a great option, but better that losing the darn thing completely.  What has worked for me several times is to power the unit down and leave it for a day or two then it seems to work again. It seems clear to me that this is not a hardware issue, as when it first powers up the screen is fine and sometimes it lasts and other times only for 5 seonds. Also since resetting the software address it, there is no problem with the hardware.  SO where is tech support in addressing this.  My gen 2 ipod no loger has any sofware updates, thanks apple!
Anybody found a long term fix for this???????

  • When I put my earphone in the sound isn't clear

When I put my earphones in the sound isn't clear.
There's a new head jack in as well.

    Hi Mr.Acevedo329!
I have an article here for you that can help you troubleshoot the issues you are experiencing. That article can be found right here:
iPod troubleshooting basics and service FAQ
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1382
Specifically, you will want to take note of this section:
    The headphones don't work
If your iPod's headphones don't work or have static or garbled audio, try connecting them to any other 3.5 mm stereo headphone jack, like the one on your computer. If the issue with the headphones persists, replace them. For an iPod under warranty, you can order a replacement online. Otherwise, check out the cool headphones at the Apple Online Store. If the issue appears to be with the iPod, try resetting it. If that doesn't work, then restore iPod with the latest iPod software using iTunes 7 or later.
Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. Have a good one!

  • IPod Touch screen. Replace of stick?

Here's the thing. My iPod Touch's screen isn't as impressive as i'd like it, sure it's not as bad as some of the examples of bad screens i've seen, but it's still not what I expected for my £200. Videos are a bit weird, some of the blacks appear slightly greyish, not as bad as i've seen on blogs but still annoying.
Also, it's got a dead pixel in the corner, but not so far into the corner that it doesn't get on my nerves. It's still not as bad as the 10-15 dead pixel reports i'm hearing, but it's still a £200 quid device.
I'm wondering wether I should swap/return it, or just make do. What's your opinion on this matter? Out of the two I would probably swap it and hope for a good one, because as far as the software goes it's pretty fantastic, i'm just REALLY annoyed with apple for messing up on the hardware so badly here.

Sorry, but i wouldn't accept ANY dead/stuck pixels. Every LCD screen having them is NOT the case today. The manufacture process for LCD screens is significantly better today. I would return it. I have a week 38 from Costco that has two stuck pixels; one near the center and one toward the left side although both are not very obvious. I plan to return it, but I have 90 days to return a Costco electronic product, so I will wait a little while until a newer batch comes in, hopefully with the screen issues resolved.
