Ipod 4th slows pc and is not recognized by pc

hi,
when I have my ipod not connected with my pc, the ipod tells me, that there are 13gb filled but there is no music on my ipod.
When I try to connect the ipod with my windows pc, it takes some minutes and then Itunes pops up with a message, that my ipod is probably damaged. When I try to restore, the normal restore process is running but nothing changes at the end.
Is the ipod simply damaged or has anybody perhaps a solution for me? I tried everything, what I could find on the internet but nothings helps. The whole thing started in that moment, when I tried to delete some music from my ipod with Itunes. ITunes frozen and leaves me quit desparate:{
regards,
Foppa

I had a similar thing happen to me, yes the iPod hard drive is damaged, you can send it in for free replacement if it is within one year of the purchase date.

  • My daughters ipod touch is disabled because of a wrong passcode.  I have tried many times to log onto to Itunes and it will not help without a passcode and is not recognizing the itouch as a device, but the USB is functional.  Do I need Itunes to fix this

My daughters ipod touch has been disabled because of a wrong passcode.  After 2 days of trying to get into Itunes, it will not help without a passcode and is not recognizing it as a device even though the computer is recognizing the USB.  I know I have to do a complete recovery, but can I do this without Itunes (or Icloud)?

You cannot do this without itunes on your computer

2nd gen iPod touch only displays start-up apple icon, and is not recognized by iTunes - what to do?

Thanks, but I've checked those articles out already. I drained the battery and finally got the needs charge (battery w/red line + arrow pointing to a charging bolt), I plugged the USB into the laptop and held down the start key +home key until I saw the apple logo. However, it still was not recognized by itunes. It's been plugged in for over an hour now and the screen is cycling apple logo/low battery (battery w/red line)/and black screen.

  • I updated to the new version of Itunes and now I can't sync my ipod or iphone.  It's not recognizing either in Itunes, but both are charging

I updated to the new version of Itunes and now I can't sync my ipod or iphone.  It's not recognizing either in Itunes, but both are charging.  How can I get Itunes to recognize my devices (that have always been recognized until this latest software update)?

  • "Device connected to USB port has malfunctioned and is not recognized"

When I hooked my nano up to my computer today, the screen went black with a silver apple icon on it...it's still all lite up and on...but it won't change from that screen.
And my computer says, "Device connected to USB port has malfunctioned and is not recognized", so it won't show up in iTunes.
    What do I do?? Thanks.

2nd Gen iPad Mini stopped working yesterday.  Won't startup under and configuration and is not recognized by my iMac.  I believe it upgraded itself to iOS 8 (????)

    Hey Kenneth,
So it sounds as if your iPad is not responding at all when you try to turn it on, is that correct? If so, I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article -
If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch doesn't respond or doesn't turn on - Apple Support
If you get it to start up and it is still not recognized by iTunes on your Mac, use the steps in this article to troubleshoot that issue -

  • My shuffle will not connect and is not recognized anywhere

I have had my shuffle for quite awhile... just after they came out with them. Everything has been going fine with it until about a week ago I connected to update it and a window popped up that said "Your iPod may be corrupt...". Since then I have not been able to connect my shuffle to my computer, it will not charge, and is not recognized by any computer. If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it, if not I guess its time to get a new iPod. Thanks!

    A good news/bad news post...
I had the same problem, with my shuffle (original
512k). I couldn't run the reset utility because the
computer (imac) wouldn't even recognize that it was
connected. I pretty much gave up on it, but last
night I plugged it into the USB port to try it one
last time - nothing happened. But I forgot to pull
it out when I shut down and this morning while I was
working suddenly the shuffle was recognized by the
computer (actually a box came up saying the device
needs to be initialized or something). I quickly ran
the reset utility, the shuffle was recognized, itunes
launched and I was able to add music. I was so
excited I decided to share the news with the forum,
but while typing this very message the shuffle
disappeared from the desktop and I got a message
saying the device was removed improperly. Now the
bad news... if I plug in the shuffle it is once again
unrecognized by the computer. But at least I got
some tunes back on it, until I buy a replacement! And
    it did charge...

  • TA44551 My 1-year ipod nano locked up and would not start overnight. The on/off button will not work and stopped holding charge. No water damage, no fall, nothing unusual. I restored it (twice) but it will still not hold charge and on/off does not work.

My 1-year ipod nano locked up and would not start overnight. The on/off button will not work and stopped holding charge. No water damage, no fall, nothing unusual. I restored it (twice) but it will still not hold charge and on/off does not work. I tried to restore it again and charged it in three different locations with different cables. etc but nothing. Suggestions?

    - After charging for 1/2 hour or so, does iTunes see the iPod?  If yes, restore the iPod from backup.
    - If no, se if placing the iPod in recovery mode will make it visible so you can restore the iPod.  For recovery mode see:

  • My 30-pin dock is connected to my lightning to 30-pin connector which is connected to my iPod touch 5g. But my iPod will only charge, and will not play music through my dock.

My 30-pin dock is connected to my lightning to 30-pin connector which is connected to my iPod touch 5g. But my iPod will only charge, and will not play music through my dock, only through the iPod's internal speaker. Help please!

Have you tried resetting both the iPod and dock? To reset the iPod, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
To reset the dock, unplug it and plug it back in.
