IPod (5G) and iPod (Classic) Not Working

I bought the iPod 5G 2-3years back ago. It was working all fine. Few months back I accidentally dropped the iPod. After this, the iPod was not working at all. None of the buttons works. But i am still able to put in on HOLD or even restart/put to disk mode. I am using it as a 80gb External Hard Drive.
*iPod Classic (120GB):*
I bought this iPod from Bangkok in December 2008. Later, in March, used to restart by itself and freeze suddenly when a track is being played. I had some tracks on it then. Whenever i try to play any track it showed the time 00:00 and started to play that particular track after this 'click' sort of sound from the inside, possibly from the hard drive. It even freezes during the RESTART process. So I had to bring it to a stable condition by restarting it during it is being restarted. My computer is not able to identify it. I have tried to restore it a couple of times now. Sometimes, I am able to get through the RESTORE process but most of the time my mac/ipod freeze together and wont come back to normal until and unless the usb wire is pulled out forcefully. Well, whenever iTunes recognizes it, I try to sync music. I have about 200 tracks in this one playlist. Whenever i try to sync it, the ipod freezes together with my mac. The sync process stops without copying all the tracks to my ipod. After that the screen goes black and then comes back with a dull APPLE logo displayed.

My dad is going to Bangkok tomorrow. I asked him to get me a Shuffle. The new one that talks. I use the ipod mainly in my car (using the aux). There are no buttons on the Shuffle as everything in situated in cable of the ear phones. How am i going to use the controls if my connect the AUX (from my car's stereo) to my iPod? I wont be able to change tracks, pause or even shut down the ipod. Another thing is that whenever the ear phone plug is disconnected from the ipod, while it is playing a track, the track gets automatically paused.
This is very long, consumed a lot of time for you to read/for me to write. I guess making it longer would help me to kill time as I am running a ZERO OUT format on the 2nd ipod I own. :P

The classic bought in December 2008 would still be covered by warranty. Have you arranged for service for it?

IPod Touch and iTunes Will Not Work Together.

I just received a new iPod Touch 32GB yesterday and have had nothing but troubles trying to get it to play nicely with iTunes. The Touch is currently version 1.1.5/4B1 (I believe updated to this sometime yesterday).
I am running iTunes v. 7.7.1 (11). When I connect the Touch to my iMac with iTunes running (even though I have it checked, just plugging the Touch in does not open iTunes) nothing happens for a long time and then I get a spinning beach ball which I have let go on for more than 20 minutes at one time.
The Touch and iTunes work fine independently. The last two times after force quitting iTunes, I have received the following error: iTunes could not connect to the iPhone (??) "" because an unknown error occurred (OxE8000035).
Does anyone know what this error is, & how do I resolve these issues?

At least atm -
I have re-installed iTunes after restarting the iMac and then restarted again, the Touch connected and showed right away after that and I am happily, currently syncing.
If it goes bottoms up again, I'll be back!

Without knowing what happened when you tryed to restore:
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I Think the ipod has water damage because I lost it outside for one year and one month. The phone is stuck in recovery mode but it has no power button and it's to old for iTunes to work with oh and I just remembered the phone is a plain 3

IPod Touch and Wi-Fi not working?

So I've got my house's Wi-Fi siganl found, connected to it, got the correct password for it, says everything is fine in my settings. Yet when I try to connect to anything involving the internet on my iPod it says I have no internet access? I just got it today for xmas and it was v2.1 I've downloaded v2.2 and still the same problem.
Please helped I've worked for hours trying to fix it and looked through all kinds of topics etc!

Please check:
That the router is serving you a good IP address (Settings > WiFi > {your SSID} > i.e. 192.168.x.x. or 10.x.x.x)
That MAC address filtering is off or that you have added the iPod's MAC address to the router.
That you are using WPA or WPA2 encryption if possible. If you must use WEP use a password of the correct length (5 ASCII chars (10 hex) for 40bit, 13 ASCII chars (26 hex) for 128bit WEP)
Restart/reboot the router.

IPod Sync and iTunes update not working

I plugged my iPod (Touch 3g) into my laptop to sync with my iTunes library and was confronted with the following error message:
"iTunes was unable to load data class information from Sync Services. Reconnect or try later"
I thought I'd update my software to eliminate that as a source of the problem, but Apple Software Update gives me the following error message:
"The Apple Software Update server could not be found. Check your Internet settings and try again."
I've tried restarting my laptop, but both messages remain. I'm guessing the two messages are related to the same issue. Anyone else getting the same and/or have a possible solution?

I just updated my ipod touch, and it will not work now.

I just updated my ipod touch... i think its 3g... to the newest thing, and now i reset my ipod and it just goes to a bluish green screen and won't turn off, or do anything but reset. when i reset it it goes to the apple logo and then right back to the blue screen. What can i do?! also, it won't connect to my computer.

You can not update an iPod Touch 3rd Generation to iOS 6.
Only iPod Touch 4th generation can update to iOS 6.
iPod Touch 5th Generation will come with iOS 6 already installed.

You will have to place your device into recovery mode and set up as new.

IPod home and lock button not working and tried assesive touch

All of a sudden I clicked my home button and nothing happened so I tried again and nothing happened, then I pressed the lock button and nothing happened either. Yet it was still letting me touch the screen. I've tried assesive touch or whatever it's called but that won't let me do anything either! Help! Bit please don't tell me to get it repaired.

Try:

Ipod nano and itunes update not working

I bought a new ipod nano, says I need to update version of itunes, each time I do, it restarts my computer but nothing has updated??

Perhaps check to see if you're accidentally running two different versions of iTunes. There's some information on troubleshooting that in the Opening iTunes section of the following document:

My Ipod touch recently fell into water, but once dried, it worked with seemingly little to no problems. Today, after working for at least an hour, the screen froze and is now not working, but the sounds are still functioning.

I accidentally dropped my Ipod into the lake, at the beach yesterday, but i caught it early and it wasn't too soaked... i wiped it off for the most part, and most of the buttons and the screen worked fine! i was shocked, and there were a few glitches with the camera and the slide button on the lock screen, but otherwise it was greatly intact! so i gave it a rest, put it in my purse, and picked it up fifteen minutes later, and it was working 100% normally again! when i got home a few hours later, i put it in rice for a few hours, taking it out every once and a while to check my notifications... it still seemed to be working perfectly, so i just set it down out of the rice, assuming the moisture was gone. this morning, again, everything was working normally, no glitches, UNTIL, i opened my instagram app, and the screen froze, and it seemed like it had two separate screens, and i held the Sleep button down until the screen went black... then i tried turning it back on, etc. and it still didn't work, and so i plugged it into the computer, holding down the sleep and home buttons, and itunes identified it as in recovery mode, and started updating. i tried again to press the sleep and home butttons, maybe pressing only the home button, because I heard the Siri noise, as well as the charging sound, but the screen was still black.... i checked my iTunes, and lo and behold, it had identified my iPod, and synced it to the computer, as if it were normally functioning. However, the screen is still not working, and Siri is not working either. The sounds may be the only thing that's functioning. Should i send it in?

If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

it might be a malfunction in your device. you might ave to send it to repairation

Try this:
Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 n above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

Look to the app developer to provide that information when browsing the iTunes Store.
The iPod Touch still works, so what's your problem with it? It still works with older apps, it still does what it's intended to do.
If you aren't happy then sell it and buy a new one.
