IPod 5G to iPod Touch

I had a couple of questions regarding upgrading/switching rather from a iPod 5th Gen (30Gb) to the iPod Touch 32Gb.
1) Is there a way to clone my current 30Gb iPod 5G that i could copy the playlists; songs; videos; etc over to the classic?
The 5G is currently Mac Formatted but wanted to keep the iPod Touch Windows formatted for use betweeneither OS.
2) any difference in video or audio quality playback with headphones or hooked up to a stereo via AUX?
3)and apparently no Disk Mode? like the 5G iPod Video?
any tips/recommendations regarding switching to the ipod touch from a 5G?
no "supposid" upgrades linger in the near future for the ipod touch?

1. ) I don't know of any apps to copy the iPod. Yoplait's link would be good, if your iPod were in Windows format.
I don't know of any copying apps for mac iPods.
1.5 ) To my knowledge, the touch requires mac format. Though this is pretty much invisible to the average user, because the
touch works in both Windows and OS X for video and music playback.
You can also add music and video with Windows or OS X.
2. ) I haven't noticed a difference for sound, but then again I don't exactly have highest quality stuff on my iPod.
Couldn't tell you for video.
3. ) No disk mode for us. I'm sure in June some one will program an app that'll allow you to use it like a disk. Though I wouldn't count on it.

I have the new version of Itunes and have upgraded from 1st gen. Ipod to 4th gen. Ipod touch, I am unable to sync all my music from my old Itunes to my new Ipod, also when I try to play the music on the computer through Itunes it says it needs to be authorized but keeps using my Old email account (which I don't have anymore) for me to authorize, is there a way to fix/ change this so I don't have to buy that music over again?

Does iTunes see the iPod?
Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
If so have you done anything like update iTunes on the computer since it last successfully synced?
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Does any media now sync to the iPod?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?

The music from the older iPod needs to be stored in your iTunes library first before it can be transferred to your iPod Touch.

Last week I purchased Star Wars the Clone Wars: Season 5 off of the iTunes store. I have purchased all previous seasons over the years and they have been able to play on my iPod. But when I purchased this new season, whenever I try to add the episodes to my device, an error comes up saying: "(Episode) was not copied to the iPod "(Name)'s iPod Touch" because it cannot be played on this iPod. This has never happened to me before, and I am very confused, and a bit frustrated. Does anyone know what this means and if there is a fix to it?

I understand that while trying to sync a video from iTunes to your iPod touch, you receive an alert that the video cannot be played on your iPod. This can happen when you attempt to sync a HD video to your device. Please refer to the attached article for more information.

When you try to sync a purchased HD video that isn't optimized for your device, you may see a message like this one:
HD videos purchased from the iTunes Store are offered in 720p or 1080p1 and are compatible with iPhone 4 or later, iPad, iPod touch (4th generation or later), Apple TV, and computers. You may need to download your purchased video from iTunes in the Cloud in a lower resolution for your device.

Can't load my ipod nano from itunes on a mac; that is, I can't drag and drop an mp3 file (of a speech) from iTunes to my iPod--though the iPod shows up on iTunes. My nano is the brand new touch screen.

I received the new iPod Nano with the touch screen for Christmas. I have a MacBook Pro running OS 10.5.8. I have iTunes 10 on my system. I cannot drag and drop MP3 files from iTunes to my iPod--though it appears that iTunes recognizes my iPod--it shows up on the Devices menu on the left side of iTunes. My wife--a long-time Mac user--kidded me that I didn't know what I was doing, Then she tried to load my iPod and failed as well. Any suggestions?

I am contemplating replacing my old Ipod with a 8gb touch which supposedly holds up to 1760 songs. In my ITunes library the average size of a 12 song album is 300mb which means I can get 27 albums x 12 songs is 324 songs. Where am I going wrong here?

There is about 6.9 GBs of free space on an 8 GB Touch for data storage. That translates to roughly 23 of your average albums.
Holds up to 1760 songs is based on the size of an average track which is about 3 to 4 MBs, whereas your albums have tracks averaging more like 25 MBs per track. I sort of doubt your average album holds what would be about 5 hours.

Does this mean that the iPod works fine but when you connect the iPod to your computer iTunes does not see - your iPod?
- Have you tried:
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Device not recognized in iTunes for Mac OS X
- If you really have OSX 10.6.x (not 10.5.8 as stated) try:
Mac OS X v10.6 or later: iOS device not recognized in iTunes after restart
- Have you tried another cable and USB port?
- If the iPod is not working then there are other things to try.

Solved. Not sure what I finally clicked on on Apple.com but found iTunes 10.6.3 and was able to download that for free and now my iPod can sync.

I get this error message when I try and synch my iPOD Touch with iTunes 10.5.3. I have OSX 10.6.8 on my iMAC.

Deleting the iPod Photo Cache folder(s) usually resolve your error. There can bemore than one folder. For it location:

JVC KSPD100 problems will not charge and no ipod control with ipod touch 2G

I just got a new ipod touch 2G and when I connect it to my JVC car stereo KD-HDR1 through a KSPD100 ipod adapter the ipod shows charging is not supported on this device and I can not control the ipod through the radio. Also I can only setup the radio for EXT in and not Ipod.

try hold home and power button till apple logo shows up
or try to put it into recovery mode, turn it off hold home button till itunes logo shows up that will cause the comp to recognize it if it still doesnt try resetting the apple mobile device support on the comp http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1567
