The iPod on my iPhone 4 won't stop shuffling songs. Can anyone help?
Thank you in advance for any replies.

I do not know if this has any chance of working.
Hold down the menu button on the iPhone until you get a speaking thing.... Then say, "Stop shuffle(ing)"
I have no idea if this would work.

  • My ipod touch 4th gen stops shuffling at song 12 repeat and shuffle bars are blue - what could be wrong

my ipod touch 4th gen stops shuffling at song 12, and the music stops all together, does not go to next song - I am playing my ipod on my Bose system  -  the repeat and shuffle bars remain blue - it only occurs on this particular playlist -Note:  I created this playlist on my ipad - the first ipad out - with icloud it is on my ipod as well -  I am totally baffled - and have checked settings, etc - do you think i need to connect to computer to sync?  Please help

While playing any song on your iPod, tap the artwork to bring up the scrubber bar and additional controls. On the left hand side is a option for repeat. You want to make sure this icon is white (meaning it is set to Off). If it isn't tap it either one or two times to change its current setting.
    Any luck there?

  • Updating iPod Software--Won't Stop 'Updating'

I've recently upgraded to iTunes 7.0. After upgrade, iTunes won't recognize my iPod at all. So I restarted the computer, and simultaneously restarted the iPod. At this point, it recognized the iPod, but said that new software was available for my iPod and that I needed to update. I did, and now a pop up is on my computer reading "Updating 'Ben'". (Ben is the name of my iPod). I've done this 3 times now with the same result.
How can I ensure that iTunes recognizes my iPod each and every time?
IBM T60   Windows XP Pro   30GB iPod Video

Incidently, I too have tried switching from the USB 2.0 hubs in the front to the rear USB's and nothing is happening. I have followed the iPod for Windows software instructions to:
"connect iPod to see if it needs formatting"
when I connect the iPod shuffle the software notices that the "iPod is connected, please wait while the system recognizes the device" and I have even let the program run "waiting for iPod" for HOURS............ and nothing is happening!!

  • IPod software won't recognize shuffle, why?

Note: This topic was moved from 'Safari.'
When I try to format my ipod shuffle with the iPod shuffle and I plug in the shuffle as requested, my software won't recognize the device!!!! Can anyone tell me what to do?

    Karen,
You have asked your question in the discussion forum for the Macintosh Safari browser. You should go to the iPod Shuffle/Windows forum and ask your question there and you will probably get a faster answer then here.

  • Won't stop shuffle

I cannot get shuffle to stop. I am a premium member. I have gone onto the song page and deselected the shuffle icon. I have clicked the first song in the album to start playing.
Incidentally when I do choose to use shuffle on a large playlist it only ever plays a small selection of songs, it never randomises the whole playlist.

I have the same question as well. It was my understanding that if I purchased the premium membership I would be able to play my songs as I wanted. I've reset all of my devices and it's still only allowing me to play on shuffle mode. Very frustrating!

  • ITunes Won't Stop Shuffling!

I have the latest desktop version of iTunes (11.1.3 (8) ) and I'm running Mac OS X 10.8.5.  For the last couple of months (I can't remember which update), iTunes has been shuffling within albums any time I play music.  It's very frustrating.  I have shuffle turned off.  If I turn it on, I can shuffle within Artist, Playlist, etc. - as it is supposed to do.  However, I can't turn it off!  Does anyone have any suggestions?
(In the "Control" menu, it's off - it Reads "Turn On Shuffle")
(The little shuffle icon is grey, not blue)

I'm not sure regarding OSX 10.8 + as I still run production machines on 10.6.8 but, I still have the same itunes version apperantly as you do through updates.
I noticed the same problems with shuffle not turning off but, after some thought I realized I had my mobile phone plugged in recharging on the computer. I also had shuffle turnrd off in iTunes and songs continued to shuffle! SMH
I did some quick testing and found:
1: When I ahut down iTunes, unpluged the mobile phone (running IOS btw), restarted iTunes there was no shuffle of songs! Yea!
2: I then looked at the iphone and where they used to have turn shuffle on or off of course wasnt there any more, only thing was that they had shake to shuffle in the music settings. I flipped the switch, plugged the iphone back in and restarted iTunes. Guess what???? No songs shuffled within iTunes! Hurray!
So apperantly it seems iTunes may be over ridden by device settings if their plugged in at the same time while trying to play ones iTunes..... smh
Check to see if this might be your scenario or not. I think I had even tried to go into the iTunes preferences or plist a while back and turn the code from true to off but that was a while ago also and it did not work anyway when I have a mobile device plugged in for recharging while iTunes was open.

  • Ipod restarting, won't stop

When i disconnected my ipod from my computer, it froze on the ejecting - ok to disconnect. So i rebooted my ipod but it only stays on the apple logo and restarts itself in about 40 seconds. It is also no longer recognized by my computer/itunes. Is there anyway to turn it off without leaving it to run out the batteries? and i still have 10 months of warranty left, but i dont have my receipt, will they still fix it for free?

I had a similar problem after accepting an ipod software update on 1/4/08. The ipod had to restart to complete the update. Mine began the restart, with a progress bar appearing on the screen. After the progress bar was complete my ipod began restarting itself over and over again. White apple logo, then a restart after 20-30 seconds. Wasn't recognized in itunes or by Windows. The ipod kept doing this when I disconnected from the PC, tried connecting to another pc, reconnected to the original pc, and tried plugging in to an electrical outlet. I finally got it to start by following the "put into disk mode" instructions (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93651). I had the ipod connected to my computer when I did this, and I did have to press the "select" and "play" buttons immediately once the logo appeared after I pressed the "menu" and "select" buttons. Once in disk mode itunes recognized the ipod. I reset it via itunes and it synched & is working fine now. Hope this helps.

  • IPod Nano won't stop turning on and off

OK so I tried to sync my iPod to my computer and it told me it was currpt and needed to be restored. It has done this for the last 4 times I have sync'd it and haven't had a problem with it restoring. This time it told me that it could not restore it and since my iPod shows the screen with the Apple on it and shuts on and off on it's own. It will not allow me to sync it anymore nor plug it into the wall socket and charge it. I have no idea what happened or what to do to fix it. Has this happened to you and if so what fixed it?
I just got this iPod a couple months ago and hav barely used it so I don't want to send it in for repairs and get a different one that is used and ****** looking.

    All,
I had the same issue on my new Ipod Nano. It works now! I did the following:
    1) Called Apple. Apple told me the next steps.
    2) Toggle the Hold switch 6 to 8 times. I did 10
    3) Press the center button and the PLAY button! Hold for ten seconds
    4) A check mark appears!
    5) Connect to computer and restore your Ipod!
    6) Thank me later!

  • New iPod Shuffle won't stop blinking orange

My new iPod Shuffle has only 3 songs to sync with iTunes but it won't stop blinking orange.

What do you mean you can't set it up?  Are you trying to connect to iTunes for the first time to set it up and start syncing content over to it?
