IPod 5th gen is disabled - connect to iTunes. Have tried ALL listed solutions

But nothing is working. Have tried holding down the home and on/off buttons together until it restarts. Have tried turning off then connecting to iTunes whilst holding down home button until the iTunes icon appears, I selected restore in iTunes and eventually the message came up again "iTunes cannot connect to the iPod touch because it is locked with a pass code. You must enter your pass code on the iPod before it can be used with iTunes". So it tries to restore but still comes up with same message.  iPod is only a few months old - was about to toss it in the garbage then thought this site may help. Have tried all support suggestions on this site many times, very carefully following instructions... Any help is much appreciated by me and my 8yr old son!!

Recovery mode is sometimes hard to enter. Only if iTunes says "iPod in recovery mode detected" your device is in recovery mode and can be restored. During this process you should be able to set up a new passcode.

Try DFU mode to restore, if recovery mode does not work, explained in this thread by paulcb

    I would start with              
    Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
    or              
    Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
    Before you reinstall the Apple software, also remove iCloud vi Control Panel Remove programs. The reinstall the Apple programs
    New cable and different USB port?
    Runs this and see if the results help with determine the cause

    Sounds like you need a new battery.  Take the iPod Nano to an Apple store or an AASP.  Whichever is more convenient for you.

    Are you running the latest version of iTunes (10.7)?  Maybe try resetting the iPod with it still plugged into your Mac. To do this, press and hold both the Select/Center and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
    It might even help to do a low level reformat of the iPod's Hard Drive using Disk Utility.  See this article for instructions.

  • TS1398 I have never had a problem with Apple. After the 7.02 update, my Wifi grayed out and would not turn on. Now my Wifi turns on but it will not connect. I even typed in the name and it still won't connect.  I have tried all of apple's solutions.

    I have tried all the solutions apple has offered online. I will not reset my phone to factory settings unless it is a last resort. What is Apple doing to fix this? I had my last Iphone last for more than 2 years and I hve had this one less than a year. My Wifi was greyed out and now it's on but won't connect or locate any networks (but if I keep switching it on and off it will freeze on me again). Does Apple have plans to fix this problem because I refuse to purchase a new phone?
    Are there any other new solutions to try in fixing the Wifi that doesn't require freezing or heating up the phone or switching to airplane mode and resetting the network settings as well making sure it's up todate or changing the apostrophe in the phone's name? My phone has never been dropped or damaged. Everyone around the world seems to be having this problem and Apple does not seem to be making a move to fix it?     The same story. No 3G after updating to 6.1.  Told my daughter temporarily not to do an update on her iPad with 6.01. We've exchanged SIMs. I inserted her SIM in my iPad - 3G appeared immediately. And my SIM in her iPad with ios 6.01 also WORKS FINE. We use the same provider - Megafon Moscow. After attempting to revert SIMs to original configuration, 3G disappeared on my iPad again. Don't know what's going on with SIM during the update to 6.1

    So I've had my iPod 5th gen with iOS 7.1.2 for a little over a year now, and recently I noticed it wouldn't connect to any chargers I had. I went online and bought a brand new lightning cable to find that that would not work either. Then I read about cleaning my charger port to get dust out, and I did that getting large amounts of debris out of there with a toothpick, but it still will not charge properly. The only way I can get my iPod to charge is to bend the cable (even the brand new one) in a certain direction. Can anyone help me?
