  • IPod (5th Gen Nano) shuts down during shuffle playback

I've only noticed this during "shuffle" mode, but it has become a regular occurrence. When switching songs the new tune will play for maybe two seconds and then the iPod will reset. The apple icon appears in the center of the screen as if the unit has been restarted. Then the menu appears. When I start the music the volume has been turned back to neutral level and it will begin playing 1 of 2900 songs as if the previous shuffle songs session never happened. It appears to be a complete reboot for no apparent reason. It does this whether it is in my pocket being jostled or sitting perfectly still hooked into my stereo. Any ideas?

It seems a shame to erase and reload 3,000 songs for a minor problem. I wish all I had time to do was mess with my mp3 player, but that's not the case. However, it is irritating if I have to stop everything and restart the device for no reason other than it is persnickety. I was hoping Apple had addressed it for someone else and I could find a quick patch to fix it. Thanks for the advice.

  • Ipod completely blank and wont respond to anything. what should i do? whats wrong?

My iPod fell in water a few months ago and I decided to take it to the authorised dealer in my city, Nairobi. They told me they couldnt fix it. Today, I connected it into my laptop and it said 'Charging, Please Wait...' so i did until the apple logo appeared with the light behind. Later on, it went off and my laptop has really tried to restart it, but it gives me these random errors (a different one each time) I really need it back. Please help!

I tried that as well but the screen just went blank again. Then randomly, it says connect to power and even so, it still says connect to power. Its barely a year old.

  • My ipod 5th gen keeps shutting down but today is turned off but it wont turn back on

my ipod 5th gen keeps shutting down but today is turned off but it wont turn back on

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My iPod touch 5th gen does not respond properly when charging?

Having real issues with my iPod touch 5th gen touchscreen not responding when it's on charge. Parts of the screen go dead or need several taps etc. Tried removing case etc. made sure I'm using included charger and directly to the mains not on an extension. Is it faulty?

Some other users have reported same problem. I have not heard of a resolution. You can try:
    - Using another cable
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

I have the iPod 5th gen. and my iPod wont connect to my wifi. I've tried everything. i rest my wifi networks and it still wont work. What do I do??

Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tend to indicate a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
    Any error messages?
    Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • HELP... iPod 5th gen wont play on docking station

We have 2 iPod 4th gen nano's and both play perfectly well on the docking stations, one being great quality one. The 5th gen nano plays but only with internal speakers even tho connected to docking station....Help.

Did you ever get it to work or does anyone know a reasonably priced docking station that is compatible? I got an Ipod Nano 5G for Christmas. Followed all the instructions and trouble shooting with the same problem. Plays great on the ear buds, but only get scratchy internal speaker when placed on a docking station. I ended up exchanging the ipod. The new one does the same thing. I bought an iHome H10 that is supposed to be compatible, so I assumed it was the Ipod. Im really disappointed in this. The benefit of Apple is the easy transition and compatibility. You shouldn't have to test a hundred docking stations to get one to play an ipod.
