  • My ipod touch will not turn on at all.

For some reason, my ipod touch will not turn on at all. It has no water damage, and for whatever reason, iTunes does not recognize it at all, and it will not turn on. I have even tried resetting it by holding the sleep button and home screen. How can I fix this?

  • How do I Sync All 5,000 of my songs onto my iPod 5th Generation without no problems at all, Most of my songs have the Album Artworks, some are ACC converted but after the "Changes Are Applied", it will say - Songs were not synced. File wasn't convert

I Am having a problem with syncing 5,000+ songs onto my IPod 5th Generation. Everytime I sync, some songs will either go away or ALL of them will come off my iPod. I have iTunes 12 for Windows, and it has a slow syncing process and it will take days for songs to get on the iPod. It will even say that any of the songs "we're not synced to my iPod because the file wasn't converted..
I Need help please, I would appreciate it.

    Hey Bryce,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like some songs aren’t being synced to your iPod touch because they aren’t in a compatible format. Can you play those tracks in iTunes? Try selecting the tracks that won’t sync and creating a new version of them with iTunes as shown in the article below.

my ipod 5th generation won't turn on or charge and i can't hold in both the button to charge it because the hoe button is broken, what can i do to fix it?

You are going to have to take it to the Apple Store to see if they can do anything for you. The Home button is critical for using your device. You need to get it fixed.

  • IPod touch 5th generation not turning on

Hello, my iPod Touch 5th gen will not turn on. When I woke up, it would not switch on from pressing the home button or holding down the top button. Last night, it was working when I put it on the charger. The only change that I had made to the iPod was that I put the newer model of headphones in and left them there overnight, but I don't think that would have caused any problems.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Ipod 5th generation not recognised by windows 7

    HIIII,
Purchased an ipod touch 5th generation on 5th december 2013, couple of months ago the home button stopped working. completely!
I switched to assertive touch and so far its been pretty good.
but with the recent update of the software 8.1 i think my windows 7 laptop wasn't recognising the device and nor was it syncing or being recognised by itunes.
I tried resetting the ipod and my laptop but none of it works.
    would appreciate your help.
    Thanking you.

    See
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    - I would start with
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
    or
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
    - Then do the other actions of:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
paying special attention to item #5
    - New cable and different USB port
    - Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause

we got this ipod 5th gen about 2 years ago. it worked perfectly up until now. you turn it on and the apple symbol shows up, then the ipod goes dead again. i also saw some other posts just like this one. wondering if its a bug??

If not successful then try the remaining items of:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

  • My ipod touch will not turn on at all screen completly black

my ipod touch screen is completly black and will not power on at all i moved recently and it has been in a box in storage i have been charging it sor two days now and nothing happens. When i connected it to my laptop it is not being identified in itunes or my laptop. Has this happened to anyone else? What can i do to fix it

    Try here:
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
I thing the only thingyou have not tried was a reset:
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
And then see if iTunes eses the iPod.

  • IPod 5th generation not charging

So i downloaded iOS8 and now my iPod will not charge. I've tried different outlets and even computer won't charge. I've soft reset it and I even restored it to see if it helps and it doesn't help. on iOS 7.1.2 it could charge in an hour or less and now if I ca get to charge it takes about 5 hours and it's still not 100%. It's not a hardware problem because it started the same evening I downloaded iOS 8. But I relally need to fix this since it's only a 2 month old iPod and I AM NOT willing to pay to have it fixed so soon after purchase! please help! Btw it shows as connected but it doesn't charge.

I suspect it may be a problem/bug in the iOS 8.  With iOS 7 it seems that the iPod indicated it was fully changed too fast and maybe Apple fixed that in iOS 8.
You can wait for iOS update or:
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • IPod 5th Generation not showing up

I have an old iPod 80Gb, 5th gen. which has problems connecting to iTunes.
If iTunes is on, and I connect the iPod via USB, the screen says "Do not disconnect" but the iPod does not show in iTunes.
If I reset the iPod, it will show up.
It will also sometimes show up, if iTunes is off and I connect the iPod, resulting in iTunes starting up.
    But it's very erratic.
I have done a full factory restore of the iPod but problem remains the same.
In the iTunes Preferences, my iPod is also not listed (iPhones and iPads are listed)
Is this a bug with iTunes? or...?

Good to hear you found the solution.
