Ipod 5th generation sync's on other computer but not mine

My Ipod wont sync and is not recognised by windows but I can select it to be safely disconnected, so something is recognising it. Other Ipod's are recognissed on my computer and other computers will recognise my Ipod. I have reinstalled the Ipod and the newest Itunes. Any ideas, Ipod is completely blank now.

uploaded a performance video on actors access, but cant view it on my account. I get the audio, but the screen is green. It does come up on other computers, but not mine. Is it my quicktime's not downloaded or upgraded?

Open your QuickTime control panel (either via the Control panels, or by going "Edit > Preferences > QuickTime Preferences" in the Quicktime Player). In the Advanced tab, uncheck Enable Direct3D video acceleration:
... and click OK. Quit and restart the QuickTime Player prior to checking to see if the settings change has had any effect.

  • My ipod is showing as corrupt on one computer but not corrupt on another computer

My ipod (5th gen classic) was working fine. I connected it to my desktop where i store my library but it showed as corrupt. I restored it as per suggestion but it still says it is corrupt. When I connect the same ipod to my laptop itunes recognizes the ipod and asks me to go through the new ipod set up steps. Why is one computer saying ipod is corrupt and the other computer is not?
I have tried bypassing the usb hub on my desktop and connecting directly to the usb card, but that did not work. I also went through the 5 R's twice but still does not work.
I also tried changing the drive letter for the ipod as per another article I found on line but that also does not work.
I could use my laptop if I could import my music from my media server to the itunes library on my laptop but itunes does not recognize the media server as a disk location. My music appears under Shared...but cant sync shared to my ipod (at least I don't think i can).
If anyone can help that would be great.
    Thanks.

So you are plugging your iPod into a high powered USB 2.0 port that is directly located on your PC's motherboard?
My suspicison is that is somesort of driver or software conflicts with iTunes your iPod that is causing iTunes to not properly recognize the device.  Have you tried removing and re-installing all Apple related software?  Use the instructions in this article to walk you through the process.

There is a link in that same article in case you have Windows Vista or 7.
It wouldn't hurt to also check and make sure all the BIOS, firmware, drivers, and chipsets are up do date on your system.

  • Ipod Touch 5th Generation has songs on it that are not mine

When my "Show All Music" setting is toggled to ON, my Ipod Touch 5th Generation will have several songs I don't own or recognize that is mixed in with my music. These songs are not downloaded to my device, but somehow the Cloud thinks that I own them and has them stored for me. I have checked my ITunes library on my computer but it doesn't show these songs there either. Where did these come from and how can I get them removed?

Are they the free U2 songs that Apple pushed to your for free?
    If so, to remove them
    Remove U2 Album
    Otherwise:
    - Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Manage Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:

  • Auto sync from phone to computer but not computer to phone.

how do I auto sync music from iphone to computer, but keep from auto syncing from my computer to the phone?  There is not enough memory on my phone to handle everthing on my computer and want to back up purchases made from my phone without having to remember what I bought and manually syncing.  Thanks

Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically.
Connect device, right-click on it in the side bar and use transfer purchases.
Edit your sync settings so that a reasonable subset of your library is scheduled to sync to it rather than everything.

  • Shuffle works on room mate's computer, but not mine

My iPod Shuffle seems to work fine, except that it will not connect to my computer at all. When I try to connect it to my room mate's computer, everything works just fine. But my computer will not recognize it at all. I've tried the 5 R's to no avail. When I plug the iPod into one of my USB slots, the green light flashes. iPod Updater doesn't recognize it at all, and neither does iTunes. Windows Explorer doesn't recognize any new devices when I plug it in, either. I've installed the latest version of iTunes and iPod Updater, but nothing is working. I've tried it on the USB slots on both my motherboard and a separate USB card that plugs into a PCI slot, and still my computer won't recognize the Shuffle.
I have Service Pack 2 for Windows XP. I've tried everything I can think of. I wish I could get the Shuffle to work on my computer so I don't have to sneak into my room mate's room and steal his computer (and he leaves his door locked most of the time, so usually I can't put new songs on my Shuffle when I want to - I've had to deal with the same songs for months now).

Is there anything that can be done?

  • I can only see album pictures on Facebook in thumbnail size, when I open the picture it will not load. I can open these pictures on other computers but not mine.

I cant open album pictures on facebook on my computer, but i can on others. I can see pictures thumbnail size, so I can still see pictures, but when I go to open them to see them full size it will not load or show up.

Check the image exceptions: Tools > Options > Content: Load Images: Exceptions - See [[Options window - Content panel]]
A way to see which images are blocked is to click the favicon (<i>Site Identification</i> icon) on the left side of the location bar.<br \>
A click on the "More Information" button will open the Security tab of the "Page Info" window (also accessible via "Tools > Page Info").<br \>
Open the <i>Media</i> tab of the "Page Info" window.<br \>
Select the first image and scroll down though the list with the Down arrow key.<br \>

  • My charger will charge another hp computer but not mine?

This morning when I turned on my laptop the charger said: plugged in, not charging. However if I plug another hp charger into my computer it starts to charge, same thing with my charger if I plug it into another hp computer it will charge it but the second I plug it into my computer it doesn't want to charge. Both the computer and charger came together when i bought it, the computer is out of warranty but it's not old less then 2 years.

It switches from not charging to charging so im not sure whats up, but if it's not charging if i wiggle it a tiny bit it'll start charging or if I unplug it and plug it back in sometimes it'll start to charge. Next to the plug on the notebook there is a light that turns orange when it's charging and white when it's just plugged in and not charging, so thats helpful I guess. I study computer engineering so I've tried installing the drivers again running a hardware scan and other thing and they all say that my computer has so problems.
Sounds like a bad charging port or circuit. Try to run the laptop without the battery with the adapter plugged in and does it work or not?

  • Ipod will work on two other computers, but not mine...

Ok, I have a Dell Optiplex GX 260 with Windows XP Pro, I have had iTunes on my computer for a while to be subscribed to a podcast, and I got an ipod! Woo Hoo! So I plug it in and the computer recognizes new hardware then I leave it to charge. It's finished and the computer won't restore or sync or anything. Error 1418 pops up, and before you point me to that page, I've done that. It went away. The other error that now pops up is 'cannot find required file' Except, we hook the ipod up to my sisters computer and it works just fine with hers. We hook it up to my motehrs computer and it works just fine. I'm not sure what to do, do you have any suggestions?

Oh and my old ipod still works fine with my comp

  • My iPod classic 80GB is recognised by my computer, but not by itunes.

I cant sync my iPod so cant update the music on it and dont know what to do. I've tried all the troubleshooting suggestions and nothing has worked. I miss my iPod and dont really want to have to buy a new one. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank so much!

Your "music list" in iTunes is in your iTunes library, not your iPod, so I don't understand what you are describing.
In iTunes, select Music under LIBRARY in the iTunes sidebar.
NOTE:  If the iTunes sidebar (along left side of window) is not visible, from the iTunes menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.
That is your list of songs in iTunes, and it is there whether your iPod is connected or not.
When you connect the iPod, it should appear under DEVICES in the sidebar.  Click the small triangle to the left of the iPod name, to drop down the iPod's content list (indented below the iPod).  Click on Music there.  To the right, the list of songs on the iPod is shown.  That list is separate from your iTunes library music list.
Can you describe the problem in your problem in more detail?

  • My firefox was sluggish and froze up now and then. I uninstalled it and then had great difficulty reinstalling it. It works on my wife's side of the computer but not mine. any experiences like this?

My side comes up with a inch and a half box which cannot be expanded or worked with in any way. If I change users it works fine. I cannot access my favorites.

You are correct.  Syncing should transfer any purchased media, including videos, from your device to your iTunes library provided your computer is authorized for the Apple ID used to make these purchases.  You mentioned that you have uninstalled iTunes before, but if you didn't follow this guide exactly, uninstalling iTunes and all of its components in the order specified, it may not have been successful so you should try again:  Windows XP or Windows Vista/7.

  • Boot drive causes screen errors on other Macs - but not mine...?

Due to a recent accident, my MBP's 160 gig hard drive was damaged and is now unusable. (I was backed up, that's not the issue.) I've since been using a 100 gig, 2.5 inch external drive (which I erased and formatted for use with Intel Macs) as a boot drive but it's close to full, and now that I don't have any major projects at hand, I'd like to send the MBP in for repair. The problem is, when using the external drive to boot other Macs (my Mini at work, my girlfriend's MacBook) the display is all mixed up - some parts are visible, others aren't. I can recognize certain icons from my desktop and Dock, for example - but everything's scattered all over the screen, and any kind of motion - dragging, hiding and showing the dock, opening windows - causes "ghosting" and "trails". There seems to be no way I can use the drive on other computers while I wait for my laptop to be repaired. Why does it only work on my MBP, is it something in the way I formatted it? (GUID partition scheme, SMART status, etc.)
    :/

I'm surprised by this just because I booted another Mac from an external drive with a clone of my system for a couple of weeks under similar circumstances and the Macs were not especially similar. G4 PowerBook which came with Tiger pre-installed and the machine-specific disks vs. G3 eMac which had come with Panther. I would have thought that MBP vs. MB would be, if anything, much less problematic than PB vs. eMac. I wonder how common such problems are.
I assume you've played with Display preferences etc.? Presumably, you use an external monitor with the mini. Do you know if drivers are available for that which you might be able to install. (I don't expect this is the problem but you might want to check just in case.)
