IPod 5th Generation won't connect to home wifi?

I've had this iPod since this summer and suddenly it disconnected from my home wifi and hasn't connected for two days now. Yes, it will connect to wifi everywhere else such as school. Although, when I come home it fails to connect to our wifi.
I know it isn't a problem with our wifi since all the computers are still connected (along with other Apple products such as Macs and iPhones).
It's only my iPod that won't connect.
Every time I try to connect it says that I have failed with the password and that it's unable to connect. I have tried resetting all settings and also tried resetting my network settings...
Any other ideas? My iPod is version 8.1

Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tends to indicate a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

iPod 5th generation won't connect to the tv after doing an software update. Get an error message (this accessory is Not Supported by iPod touch) please help me with this

First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

  • My iPod 5th generation won't turn on and my middle button doesn't work

My ipod 5th generation won't turn on and my middle button doesn't work! What will I do? It all starmed when I updated iOS 8. It would be fine but would shut down at random, now it won't turn on at all!!! when I press the lock button to turn it on the Apple sign would come up for about 5/10 minutes!! so what will I do???

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
Ignore the reset and when it says place the iPod in recovery mode
Place the iPod in recovery mode using one of these programs:

    or
    http://joshuabailey1997.wordpress.com/2010/09/02/recboot-v1-3/
    If necessary:
    Download QTMLClient.dll & iTunesMobileDevice.dll for RecBoot
    and
    RecBoot tip
RecBoot may have problems on 64X windows, then try:
Tenorshare ReiBoot – Enter & Exit iPhone, iPad, iPod Recovery Mode with a Single Click
    For MAC or PC
    The Firmware Umbrella - TinyUmbrella
    Installs blootware on PC too
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My ipod 5th generation charges when connected to my PC but not recognised in itunes with windows 8.1

Why is my ipod 5th generation not recognised in itunes in windows 8.1?Connection to my PC only charges the battery.

Did this iPod previously work with this computer (running Windows 8.1), and does not now for some reason?  Or is this the first time (or the first time with Windows 8.1)?
The fact that only the battery charging symbol appears on the iPod screen seems to indicate that the iPod does not recognize a data connection.  It's like you are connecting the iPod to USB (wall) power adapter.  It is likely that the Windows system also does not see the iPod as a connected device; you should confirm by looking at Device Manager.
You should rule out a faulty USB docking cable.  The dock connector has separate connection points for power and data, so it is possible for it to connect to charge the battery but not connect for data.  So, if possible, try another docking cable, or try the cable you have with another Apple device.
You should rule out a problem on the USB port.  If you connect something else to the same port, does it work properly?  Preferably, you should use something similar, like a USB flash drive or port-powered external drive, and try copying over some large files.
If the USB port and docking cable are OK, the cause is more likely to be on the iPod (such as a dock connector that is worn out from use).

  • IPod 5th Generation won't turn on, charge, nor connect to PC.

I have no idea how this iPod came to be this way. It belongs to my 6 year old sister who came to me today asking me to fix it. It's a 5th Generation Product RED iPod Touch.
The problem now is the screen is not displaying anything. Reset doesn't work. DFU doesn't work. When connected to PC both iPod and PC show no response (tried on multiple USB ports on multiple PCs all running Windows 7 64-bit). When plugged in to an iPhone charger, the iPod displays the Apple logo for a few seconds, goes dark for a few seconds and shows the Apple logo again, and the process repeats. I tried to fix it as a reboot loop but to no avail. While Connected to charger, I manage to put it in DFU mode but when plugged out to be plugged in to the PC it dies and doesn't turn on when connected to PC.
Preferrably, I would like to have a solution to this which doesn't wipe the iPod as the iPod was never connected to a PC for backup. Thus, all data on the iPod will ultimately be lost.

See if you missed anything here:
    Try:

  • IPod 5th Gen Won't Connect to Chargers

So I've had my iPod 5th gen with iOS 7.1.2 for a little over a year now, and recently I noticed it wouldn't connect to any chargers I had. I went online and bought a brand new lightning cable to find that that would not work either. Then I read about cleaning my charger port to get dust out, and I did that getting large amounts of debris out of there with a toothpick, but it still will not charge properly. The only way I can get my iPod to charge is to bend the cable (even the brand new one) in a certain direction. Can anyone help me?

  • Ipod touch 5g will not connect to home wifi

Hello there! I have this problem where my ipod touch wil not let me connect to my home wifi. When I try to join, a message will pop up saying "incorrect password". I know for sure that the password is 100% right. My ipod touch had no problems connecting to the internet a few months ago, but lately many of the apps that required internet would not load even with 3 bars of signal. Therefore, this is when I decided to rest the network settings. Biggest mistake. Now it won't even let me connect to the internet. I have tried everything. Holding the home button and power button together until apple logo pops up. Updating the software to ios 6.1.3, physically turning my ipod on and off, even the modem and reseting the network settings on ipod.
Will restoring my ipod back to factory settings work?
Thank you! It will be appreciated.

  • New ipod touch 4th gen wont connect to home wifi livebox?

Hi I bought a new ipod touch yesterday 4th generation iOS5, I haven't been able to connect it to my home wifi at all. My brother's old Ipod touch connects perfectly fine, I know I'm not typing in an incorrect WEP key, but it just says "unable to join network" I have an orange (wanadoo) livebox. Any help would be much appreciated. I've tried resetting network settings/restarting it/restoring it etc etc but nothing works.

  • MacBook and husband's iPhone won't connect to home Wifi, but my iPhone and iPad will.

As of this week, our home Wifi won't connect our MacBook (2008) or my husband's iPhone 4 to our home Internet.  Our iPad 2 and my iPhone 4 still connect no problem.  We appear to get the signal, but get error messages about not connecting to the Internet with browsers.
We've tried turning things off and on, forgetting and re-adding networks, and copying info from my phone to his, but have all been unsuccessful.
We share our Internet with our neighbor and nothing has changed with that.  We asked her to turn off/on the router and/or modem with no change.
The ONLY difference I can think of is my husband started his last semester at school this week and he uses both devices on campus.  He has to use his campus ID and password to get on campus Wifi so he doesn't change any settings, but I feel like its all leading back to that.
Any help would be much appreciated!  Thank you!!!

Forgetting the Network didn't work.  It's dong the same thing.
So if it's a router problem, what can we do?
Two devices work, and two don't...I just don't understand why.
Could it be that too many people have logged into our wireless and now it's out of IP's? Could we ask people who have previously logged into our internet to delete it completely? I don't know if that would free anything up?

How do I configure my husband's new iPod Touch (4th Gen.) for Safari? We have WiFi at home but when I choose our network nothing happens and there seem to be loads more things to fill in none of which I know the answer to! Help!

To connect to a WiFi network you need only enter the password for the network. If DHCP is configured in your router (it normally is) it will fill in all the relevant fields.
