IPod 60Go 1.1.1 - Video Menu - impossible to see the "TV Series" category

In iTunes 6.0.4, Preference menu, iPod window, I have 6 categories : "Music", "Podcasts", Photos", "Music Videos", "Contacts" and "Calendars".
How come I don't have the entire "Videos" category and only the "Music Videos" sub-category ?
When I look at the website support, I see 5 sub-categories in "Videos" : "Recently Added", "Mixed Playlist", "Movies", "Music videos" and "TV Shows".
How do I get these other sub-categories ?
When I save TV Series episodes on the iPod, they don't appear since I don't have the "TV Series" sub-category.
Another weird thing : every video that appear on the iPod is put into the "Movies" sub-category, no matter what I put in the "Genre".
Another point : In the "Music videos" window, I have no access, everything is disabled. Why ?

I also have this same problem, sort of. I have a videos category, but inside of it I have all menus exept for the "TV Shows" menu. could someone help. And as for one of your problems, Marc, to put videos in other categories other than "Movies" you don't edit in the "genre" field. Instead, click Get Info, then click on the options tab, and you can change it in the drop down menu "Video Kind"

My 2nd generation iPod nano screen is showing lines and I cannot see the whole menu. How can I fix this problem?

I believe that my wife disconnected the iPod nano (2nd Gen.) improperly and now the screen has a whole bunch of lines. I can see the screens moving when I move to the next screen. But it's just lines. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

well unfortunatley your warranty is over so the device is not covered, BUT sounds like you have interupting signals being sent from a stuck home button constantly being pressed and maybe even a digitizer problem (the touch screen). You can try to restore your ipod to your computer to see if it might be some kind of software related issue. Just restore to the last sync you have on iTunes. But FIRST...I would try to Reset your ipod.
Go to Settings>General>Reset> Reset all settings.

How to turn on video on ipad to see the show on tv using av cable

I purchased the iPad AV composite cable. The sound is coming through but there is no picture. The instruction manual says to make sure that video is turned on on the iPad so that the video will come through. However, it does not say where to find the video settings.

If you have setup home sharing on the Mac and you are sure that you did it correctly - on the iPad go to Settings>Music>Home Sharing and sign into your Apple ID. Then go to the Music app (iPod app was in earlier iOS) and tap the More button at the bottom and you should see "Shared" and an option. Tap that to share the iTunes library on the Mac.
You setup home sharing for videos the same way. Settings>Videos>Home SharingA>Apple ID.
iTunes must be running on the Mac if you want to home share.

On multiperson video chats, I cannot see the video chat invitation. When it's one other person, I can. What should I do?

I am having the same problem. I have reinstalled iTunes and I have also deleted it and reinstalled it. Same problem. You are right, it will play, although I can't see to pick something, it just plays what ever it is on.

Impossible to see the lyrics on my iPad1. Will it be solved quickly?

All the lyrics I need are in iTunes.
I see them perfectly well on my Macintosh in iTunes and on my iPhone!
Why is it now impossible to see them comfotably as before on the iPad?
It was much nicer to work with it but it is now impossible.

The Music app on iOS 5 on the iPad doesn't currently support lyrics - you can try leaving feedback for Apple and maybe it'll be re-instated in an update : http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html
In the meantime you could also see if there are any third-party music apps that support lyrics.

In the newest firefox - when on youtube watching videos, I no longer see the streaming bar (lighter red) indicating the video has been downloaded. Any ideas why?

I have just upgraded to the latest firefox.
I have a problem streaming videos on youtube. Typically, when you stream a video on youtube, you can see on the "timebar", that the video is being downloaded shown in a lighter red, with the solid red the indicating which of the video you're already at.
However, in the latest version firefox, I longer see the streaming (lighter red) on the timebar, so I have no idea how much it has downloaded/streamed. I have updated my flash etc...but doesn't solve the problem. Can anybody help? Thanks!

There has been a change in where Firefox searches for plugins and the plugins folder in the Firefox program folder is no longer scanned for plugins, so Firefox won't find them anymore if they are installed in the plugins folder instead of the "browser\plugins" folder that Firefox now scans.
You can set the plugins.load_appdir_plugins pref to true on the about:config page to make Firefox scan the "<install>/plugins/" directory for plugins like the WMP plugin (np-mswmp.dll).

Impossible to See the log after executing a logic

Most of the time I develop on a VM. On this system i have acces to a execution log once i have launch a Logic though a SSIS package ( BPC 5.1 ). But on the production system i don't have acces to the execution log. Is there a parameter i can change to have acces to this information ?

To have access to log of logic you need to have access to follow patch:
fileserver\C$\BPC\Data\Webfolder\YourAppset\YourApplication\Private Publication\Your User\
So you can check if you already have access there and in case if you don't have then you have to ask your IT to share Webfolder with only right access for your user or for everyone if more users would like to have this kind of access.
Any way usually if you run a DM package to run the logic you should be able to see the log directly into Log of the package.(you have there a section view script logic log).

ICal almost impossible to see the text. How I can make it more clear?

My iCal application comes with text and design so faint that it is almost impossble to read dates.

Have same problem, new to mac, all happy with moving away from outlook for email and iCal fine in all respects except if a i cant see the numbers the whole excercise has been a waste of time and i am on the verge of moving back to outlook.
I really prefer iCal's simplicity but why oh why ! can i not just darken the font !!!!!

I can't get my cursor to completely leave the screen, so when I'm watching videos on some services the video control menu stays at the bottom of the screen. How do I make it disappear so I don't have to see the progress bar and stop/start buttons?

When I watch certain video services like amazon or Netflix and enter full screen, when I move the cursor a video menu pops up on the bottom of the screen and won't disappear until the cursor goes offscreen. But my cursor won't go fully off screen. Just the tip remains visible so the video menu doesn't leave.

What happens if you simply click the trackpad in the movie area before the cursor disappears? Does that cause the video menu to disappear?

Dock + Remote apple in the ipod 3g reset while viewing videos

I have the following problem is my ipod nano 3g 1.1.3 connected to the dock of apple and driving with the remote apple.
The problem is that the iPod is reset when you press forward or play / pause while playing videos, I have tested with the podcast "Apple Special Event, October 2008", the reset is random.

This rather depends on whether it broke because it was faulty - in which case it would be covered - or it broke because it was damaged - in which case it most likely wouldn't be.
In any event the best thing would be to deal with Apple directly. Please see this page:

hope u guys can helpme out. Just bought ipod recently but having problems importing music videos/ movies from itunes. Called apple but they said that the movies is not the right format as my ipod. How do i reformat or import movies into my ipod? pls help. thanks

There is two ways of playing back music videos. They are displayed in your "songs" as well as in "Videos" > Music Videos. When you are playing back a music video from "Songs" then you can only see a small, non-moving screenshot and can only hear sound. However if you play it back from "videos" > "Music Videos" than you can see the video and sound.

Need some guidance, advice on AS for a video menu im designing

I consider myself a well versed professional in terms of design layout in Photoshop, to Iillustrator, and InDesign. I have just begun to pick up Flash cs3 and have had no problem laying out elements and so on. I understand the timeline, since I do allot of video editingfrom FinalCut to AfterEffects. However what is new and alien to me is ActionScripting I don't know what is best 2.0 or 3.0. I have tried some tutorials in drop menus and so on. yet I'm having issues across the board as to what process to build this video menu page. (see photo below)
The function of this menu is that you roll over a green title and a menu drops along side of it, then you roll your mouse courser over the sub menu and click on a sub menu title and a video starts. I believe the functions to be easy and straight forward. yet action script puzzles me. is there a site for beginners or tutorials in just menus like this i could copy and use while i pick up action script whatever. or if anyone has simple code ideas to put or drop in said Key Frames or Layers (see photo below)
any help guidance would be soooo appreciated.

there are lots of flash tutorials. use google to search.
however, if you're not, at least aquainted with some oop language, you're in for a steep learning curve trying to create a dropdown menu using actionscript.
if you don't need any of the as3 features, use as2. it's easier to learn. although, if you plan to do more flash, you might want to skip as2 and learn as3.
