Ipod 6th gen nano issue

I have done the step by step procedure to try and have my computer recognize my new nano and it just wont work. As soon as I start up my itunes my computer no longer recognizes the nano as a disk drive. I dont know if its because it is 64 bit or what can anyone provide some help please.

After I read this post I took a look at my nano (with which I am having volume level issues). I had it set to 'Rock'.
Having now taken it off that EQ setting - i.e. changing it back to 'none' - the volume has been restored to a more acceptable level! AND, when I adjust the volume up or down on the nano using the buttons, it makes a beep - it wasn't doing that before...
I think a firmware update is required!

Ipod 6th gen. nano attach to itunes generated error and it is in switch off when update its software with itunes.

I have ipod 6th generation. when i update software in itunes it is switch off and do not response in itunes. It is not switch on and when i attach to computer itunes shows this error "An Ipod has been detected, but it could not be identified properly. Please disconnect and reconnect the ipod. then try again. An unknon error occurred (2005)". Please help me on this probleam.

are you sure, that your iPod is 3rd generation? http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1353
For a second generation iPod, 4.2.1 is the latest possible version.

Windows 7 does not recognize ipod 6th gen nano

Windows 7 does not recognize my device so I can't sync to iTunes. I tried running MSCONFIG, reinstalling iTunes and various different cables, usb ports. Any other suggestions?

Does the iPod appear in Device Manager when it is connected?
To access device manager, click Start and then right->click on Computer and choose Manage.
It might be listed as unknown or under the USB host controllers section.

I was moving some music on to it, decided to update itunes, and the moment it updated my ipod stopped being recognized. I've uninstalled and reinstalled itunes, restarted the ipod, and restarted the computer- all, multiple times. Thoroughly unimpressed and not sure how to get this working. Please help?

Ipod 6th gen not working

Hi there, I bought an ipod 6th gen just over a year ago, while using it, I noticed the screen get grainy just before my battery went low. Now the screen is black and wont charge. I am wondering if it is the battery or the ipod itself. I never dropped the ipod or abused it anyway, I dont really want to buy another one, if this is going to happen, has anyone else had this happen, or know what the problem is?

IPod nano 6th gen digitizer issues

Hi,
I recently replaced the battery in my oow ipod nano 6th gen. After replacing everything, it booted up fine, but now the touch screen capabilties are not working. I took apart another oow 6th gen nano and I get the same result.
I went to the diagnostics menu and whenever I press "Sensor Test" it says Please Wait and will flash back to previous menu. The same happens with "IC version" and when I check for errors, it says No IC error reported. It's a bit confusing.
Does anyone have any ideas?

HOW do I get the "watch" to stay on and not shut off on my 6th GEN NANO?

After purchasing a $70 cool watchband for my new 6th GEN NANO, I'm very disapointed that I can't get the "watch" function to stay on more than 15 seconds. AppleCare says that it isn't meant to stay on, it would run down the battery. Then why put on 16 watch faces, and show it as a "watch" on everything you publish? Doesn't make sense you can watch TV shows and movies, but doesn't have enough battery to run a watch face. BAD design, and shame on APPLE for selling a dozen different watchbands in their stores. Now don't you think the store salesman would say "are you thinking of wearing this as a watch, or to hold your NANO while you are at the gym"? 15 seconds is often not enought time to get setup and take someone's blood pressure. I don't think I need to offer an explanation of WHY a watch should work more than 15 seconds without pushing a button, do I?

This is getting silly, but I'm not too young to remember the early digital watches. The difference is that we knew what we were buying . jThey were upfont about the FACT that the watches didn't stay on. And how well did they sell as watches? Hmmm I don't think any of us said that Apple was pushing Nano primarily as a watch. That said, this is not a third party "app" either .... 18 clock faces come with the Nano as a "feature" of the product. It's not a "digital time read out"... it's made to look and act like a watch. Apples own website touts that you can change its face "to match your mood or your outfit".... The bands they sell range from $20 bucks to like $150 bucks.... This is a HUGE money maker for them. It is THESE KINDS OF FEATURES that brings people back buying new ipods, because like I said, without them, I have plenty of devices that already "record music", or "store pictures". And your other points have zero merit. Go to the Apple website to the Nano 6 page where Apple touts all of its merits. This is where Apple explains the features of their product. If a restore of the Nano in iTunes to factory settings does not resolve the issue, it's likely hardware related, meaning you should take or send your iPod in for service.

Trying to restore 6th gen nano which has been formatted on mac but need ot use it on windows xp. iTunes shows 30 hrs for update then times out. Is there anything I can do?
