IPod 6th gen time on wake - not working?

Hello, I am trying to use the "time on wake" function of the nano, but it does not go to the clock but rather to "Now Playing" when I wake it from sleep.
Under Settings, General, Date & Time, I have enabled "Time on Wake"
If I then get out of Settings and put the nano into sleep, when I push the wake button it comes back up to the "Now Playing"
Am I doing something wrong - this seems pretty straight foward.
Thanks.

This feature is somewhat buggy and as seen by many posts of this same type the clock has a tendency to default to now playing with the music or podcast you last listened to in pause mode.
This has become a very annoying bug that even after setting the Time on wake feature does not fix it.
I have found an equally annoying work around that I hope Apple will fix in the very near future.
Once the "Time on wake" feature stops working due to listening to your favorite podcast or song you must connect up your nano to your computer and sync it with iTunes then it works until you listen to another song or podcast. My nano is brand spanking new 12/28/2011 and came with this bug....I guess Apple didn't count on the watch feature becoming so popular ? ?
My software version is 1.2 using iTunes 10.5.2.11
Let me preface this by saying this is how a nano on Windows responds, if you are using your nano on a mac you may have an entirely different experience where the nano just works the way it should or some other variation of this problem.

  • IPod touch gen 2 touch screen not working

My iPod was missing for 10 days, in the back of a couch. I recharged it, used for ~ 1 hour. Then the screen would not respond to touch. I could turn it on, but the screen doesn't function. Any suggestions?

if the touch screen does not word hold the power button for 5 seconds and let go.
it now should say slide to power off. now let the battary power go down(dont charge it what so ever). after all the battary is drained it will go into recovery mode(you can tell becuz it shows a black screen and an apple logo in the middle). now charge the device. it should now turn on and the touch screen should work. i know becuz this happened to me twice and i fixed it the same way each time

  • Ipod 6th gen not working

Hi there, I bought an ipod 6th gen just over a year ago, while using it, I noticed the screen get grainy just before my battery went low.  Now the screen is black and wont charge.  I am wondering if it is the battery or the ipod itself.  I never dropped the ipod or abused it anyway, I dont really want to buy another one, if this is going to happen, has anyone else had this happen, or know what the problem is?

I tried updating my iPod, and ever since it has not worked at all. If I hold in the lock & home button, it will tell me to plug it into iTunes. Once I do that, it says it will restore but every time, restoring it fails. My iPod is not working at all, and I really have no idea what to do. It is just a black screen, and occasionally the white apple will appear as if it were turning on, but it won't turn on. I just need some suggestions on what to do!

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Ipod 6th gen not showing any music after successful sync

    Hi all,
My ipod 6th gen has just started doing something odd.
When I plugged it in it said it couldnt be read and I had to restore it.
I did this, but now when I sync'd all my music back to the ipod, it seems to work, but when I unplug the nano and try to play some music there is nothing available to play.
    Any ideas?
I have the latest version of itunes, and the ios on the iPod is up to date.
The Sync seems to work, and in itunes you can see that there is music on the ipod. But the ipod itself shows nothing available to be played.
    Pls help!!!!!

2nd Gen Time Capsule - will not power up - just stopped working all of a sudden - I have tried other power outlets - I have tried pressing the reset button - no light

The power supply is shot. But that it lasted even this long is the wonder.. not that it died.
    The TC runs too hot..
Look on ebay for "Time Capsule power supply"
You can get a replacement and fix it although the economics are not so good.. it is probably time for a new TC.
If you can DIY it is really only a few dollars worth of capacitors that go bad.

You can do an out-of-warranty replacement at an Apple Store for a fee, get a 3rd party site to repair it, sell it for parts, or get a new one.

  • Audio stuttering in podcast app, IPod 6th gen.

Audio stuttering in podcast app, IPod 6th gen. I don't know what triggers it, other audio is fine- only podcasts. Set on 1x speed. Affects all podcasts (not a media problem).
I can't see any setting that could be affecting it.

Just tried that and did not work. Also I do understand and have made podcast lists in the app. The problem for me is that when done with the podcasts I can't just reach down and get my Ipod unless my truck is not moving. Think safety of everyone on the roads.

  • My ipod 6th gen just died- for no reason.

So I woke up this morning and tried to turn on my new ipod 6th gen, and it didn't react at all. I was pretty unsatisfied with the battery anyways, and noticed it draining over night since you cant turn it off completely, but the battery couldn't be the problem since i just charged it yesterday night. So i hooked it up to my mac and its still not responding at all. I'm pretty ******, I always handled it with care, it wasn't in the sun, near water, or anything else. The sleep button has been unresponsive before. The only thing i could think of is that i disconnected it without ejecting it yesterday, but it didn't die then, since it told me just that- that i disconnected it and shouldn't do so in the future. HELP PLEASE

Today I returned my Nano 6th Gen. to Best Buy for the second time.
Both units just Died within 30 days of usage.
First problem the **** battery seems to just keep running even when on stand by.
Why is there no power off button??
Second even after charging the battery life was short.
Third, the both iPods just shut off and then when I tried to recharge they overheated
Immediately. Dead as can be. Two units behaving identically.
This is no accident. I am highly disappointed in Apple for releasing such Crap.
I am a Super loyal Apple guy. And this *****!
Now what? I don't have a gym tunes now.
    Totally ******.

  • My ipod touch go of and will not work untill i plug it back in to a ac power

my ipod touch go of and will not work untill i plug it back in to a ac power

You likely have a hardware problem like a dead battery.  To rule out a software problem try the following in order:
    - Reset:
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore the iPod from backup via iTunes
    - Restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • Hiya, my ipod touch 4th generation cameras are not working.

Hiya, my ipod touch 4th generation cameras are not working. I had the screen replaced about a month ago and it was working fine.  I woke up the other day and went on my camera and it had stopped working, it won't let me change from the front to back camera so i don't know what the problem  is: now all it shows when i go on the camera app is the shutter or a black screen. I have tried the advice people have said but it hasn't seemed to work. Any help would be appreciated!

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
However, it other than Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider did the previous screen replacement , Apple will not help.
For the future, saying that you tried the advice people have said, provides us with zero information as to what yu tried.

  • My 6th gen nano screen will not rotate, stuck perpendicular to buttons

All of a sudden, my 6th gen nano screen will not rotate. I have it on a watch band and it is perpendicular to the buttons (and my view of it).

planb77, you have truly taught me a lesson, and after all these years, I finally see that it is very helpful to READ THE MANUAL.  I was having this issue, and it was spell out for me all this time.  I never liked to look at the manual to resolve my technical issues, but I will always go there first to see if I can resolve any issues.

  • Issues with syncing 2 IPOD 6th Gen Nano's to one computer

we have 2 new IPOD 6th Gen.  I can sync mine in ITunes, but when I plug in the 2nd one (which has a different owners name) to sync, the device comes up, but when I hit the sync button nothing is happening.  Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks

Do you have any better luck with that if you update to iTunes 10.6.1.7?
From the notes for the release:
iTunes 10.6.1 provides a number of improvements, including:
    • Fixes several issues that may cause iTunes to unexpectedly quit while playing videos, changing artwork size in Grid view and syncing photos to devices.
    • Addresses an issue where some iTunes interface elements are incorrectly described by VoiceOver and WindowEyes.
    • Fixes a problem where iTunes may become unresponsive while syncing iPod nano or iPod shuffle.
    • Resolves an ordering problem while browsing TV episodes in your iTunes library on Apple TV.
