Ipod 7th gen compatability probs with polar wearlink heart monitor

My new ipod nano seems to link with my polar wearlink heart monitor, but does not dispay the heart rate. Can anyone help?

Thanks for responding.  The HR monitor is new and does link to the Nano properly.  With further fiddling I have now worked out how to operate - I didn't realise that you need to commence a workout to get the HR reading displayed - I assumed it would do that automatically once recognised and linked.  All OK now, thanks again.

    - See:

    - Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use.
    - Try another charging source
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

    Hi Becki ..
You need to "authorize" the Mac.
Launch iTunes on the Mac then from the iTunes menu bar top of your screen click Store > Authorize This Computer.
Now, using the same Apple ID as you used to purchased iTunes media originally, you should be able to sync all your content.

  • TS1591 iPod 7th gen not showing up in iTunes (Macbook Pro) on first try

hi guys. i have an ipod 7th gen and just recently bought a macbook pro. what i noticed right away was that whenever i try to plug in and update my ipod, the icon shows up on the desktop but the iPod itself does not show up in iTunes. i have to unplug then re-plug in my iPod and that usually does the trick. a trick which is annoying to do because im sure most people with iPods dont have this problem. help please

    Hey there Miles,
It sounds like your iPod isn't showing in iTunes when you connect it to your Mac. I would start with this bit from the following article:
    iPod not appearing in iTunes
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3716
First, try the steps in the iPod Troubleshooting Assistant which applies to your iPod.
If you still cannot get the device to appear in iTunes, use the following link to help troubleshoot it:

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

  • My new  iPod 7th gen is syncing but no sound

I have just received my iPod 7th gen. It is fully charged and set up.  I have synced my music files to it. When i play a song no sound comes through but on the iPod it shows as playing.  Is this a fault with the ipod?  The earphones work fine as i have tested them on my ipad. I have also restored the ipod to factory settings and resynced but am still having the same problem. Any help would be appreciated

  • My iPod 7th gen has no sound

My new iPod nano 7th gen will not give out any sounds,

    Hi guys,
I have just received my second iPod nano from Amazon.  I had to return the first one as I had no sound coming out and the Apple Support guy - after resetting and restoring the original factory settings, said that it was probably defect and that I should send it back - which I did.
Just received the replacement and surprise, surprise, there is no sound coming out of this one either!!
I've reset this one with the Power and Home buttons, made sure that the Volume Limiter in the Settings is set to OFF, and turned the volume up to the max, but still no sound.
If I have to send this one back, it's the last device I buy from Apple.  There is of course the possibility that I am completely stupid and I'm doing something fundamentally wrong, in which case shine a light guys, shine a light!
Other than that I have been all over the Internet before I landed here and there really does seem to be a problem with iPod nanos.
    Yours, in deep frustration,
    Lyra

  • Ipod 7th Gen battery icon

Why do Apple have micorscopic sub-icons (lightning bolt and plug) on the battery charge indicator of 7th Gen IPod Nano? I cannot see them without a magnifying glass!! Whay don't they have the moving fillup indicator that most things have?

That's not normal or expected. I've gone 2 weeks and probably 20 hours of play time without giving the battery in mine a second thought, and it still shows 25-33% charge. In November, I drove 8 hours from Ohio to Maryland, and it made it the whole way using Bluetooth to play audio through my car stereo. It was pretty well drained by the trip, though. I doubt it would have made it 10 hours with BT. I've never watched video on it, so I have no idea what to expect if it has to power the screen constantly.
I'd charge it overnight, and then start a timer while starting it playing music. When it was almost dead, and with the timer still running, I'd walk it into my local Apple store. (I hope you have one.) Bonus points if you document the experiment on video.

  • When will apple allow apps on ipod 7th gen?

I wish apple put games compatability on the next ipod nano 7th gen update. i loved the games on the 4th gen and miss them.

  • Something weird is going on iPod 7th gen

Okay, so i have an iPod nano 7th generation, and i think it's infected with some kind of virus, i've had this iPod for 2 months and everything was working well both iTunes and the iPod, yesterday something weird happened with my PC, when i turn it on it just goes to Startup Repair everytime, i download a lot of programs on that PC (Windows 7), so i thought it may be an infected downloaded program. I took my other PC (Windows Vista) and downloaded some songs, i connected the iPod and synced with iTunes, suddenly, the PC turned off, i turned it back on and it was happening the exact same thing that happened with the other PC.
I don't know whats going on...

You may have a bad cable. You do not have a virus.

  • IPod 3rd gen not working with universal dock

My old iPod 3rd gen (15GB, touch wheel, dock connector) worked great with the old dock, until the latter started scratching noises when outputting audio to my stereo. Still charges the iPod though.
So, I tried old iPod with the universal dock I got for my Touch and found the following problems:
    1. iPod is not being charged through new dock plugged to wall adapter
    2. touch wheel menu control is not working as long as iPod sits in universal dock plugged to the wall adapter - the sound of clicks is all I get, but no control of menu or any other function. In order to select playlist or use any other function through touch wheel or any of 4 buttons I need to unplug power from the dock (it is not charging anyway)
    3. remote is not working at all
    Otherwise playback is OK.
Any ideas what may be the culprit here? Apple states that Universal dock is compatible with 3rd generation of iPod and up.

    Hello Andrew,
What a coincidence as I too have had to find a new dock for my 3rd gen ipod. This week I purchased an Apple AV Connection kit - but found that it would not charge the ipod or respond to the remote. I also bought and tried a Belkin AC adapter with cable to power up the ipod but it too would not charge the ipod.
To see if these units were working I connected them to a friend's brand new ipod classic and both the Belkin and Apple AV Connection Kit worked fine - so there is something different about the 3rd gen ipod.
I'm not sure if this helps you - but at least you know it's not just your ipod that is not working with the new dock.

  • The best Nano 7th Gen wireless headphone with controls

    Hello,
I was really disappointed when I found out that the earpods I got with my nano did not come with the track controls. So, I need to buy some new headphones, what are the best bluetooth wireless headphones for the 7th Gen Nano that have the track controls??!?!?
    thanks

Here is a review: http://www.amazon.com/review/R2XY28TOZZ61KZ/ref=cm_cr_pr_viewpnt#R2XY28TOZZ61KZ there are more available in that same thread.
Just to point out you asked for the "best", you did not list a price limit.

  • Why doesn't my ipod 7th gen connect to bluetooth in my new car

I have a 2014 Hyundai Elantra GT.  I was told that I could play my Ipod nano 7th Gen via Bluetooth.  the car picked up my IPod and the IPod detected the car.  Seemed pretty simple.  But when I tap connect on my Ipod, I get an error on the car display "connection failed".  I tried deleting the Ipod and starting over, but still won't connect.
The folks at the Hyundai are blaming it on Apple saying they are restricting the connection due to the last software upgrade.  No one seems to be able to give a concrete answer.  If someone spends over $25,000 on a new car they should be able to connect a simple Ipod nano.
I hope someone from Apple reads this and provides a solution so I can enjoy my tunes in my new car.

Nobody from Apple will read this.
    Go here: https://www.apple.com/feedback/ipodnano.html
    Or call AppleCare.
There hasn't been a firmware upgrade on the Nano for over a year, which software upgrade is your Hyundai dealer referring to? Also, have you connected the car to any other device?
