I've got a similar problem 120gb Classic - composite cable (30 pin) has worked in the past but not anymore. It isn't a cable problem as it works on a 30 gb with no problem.
Exactly the same problem for me too: 30GB ipod classic (model MA444FB) shows video on TV fine, 80GB (model MB147) displays the 'please connect video accessory' message and doesn't show video. Also ipod touch (model MB 531BT) doesn't display video on TV. All 3 ipods play audio without problems. All have uptodate software. The AV cable is the one that plugs into the earphone jack on the ipod, part number is M9765G/B.
I notice noone's responded to the previous posts on this thread yet - be nice to get some expert advice before I go out and spend £35 on a new composite cable.

  • "TV Out Enabled: Please Connect Video Accessory"

I tried connecting my iPod Classic 80Gb v1.1.1 to a Philips DCP750/37 but after setting all the required configuration a message that says, "TV Out Enabled: Please Connect Video Accessory" appeared on my iPod. I think it is an incompatibility problem. Any work around on this issue?

Unfortunately this is one of the downfalls of the Classic. It only works with select apple "branded" video out accessories. This is the 5th gen forum too btw.

  • What does "TV Out Enabled Please Connect Video Accessory" mean?

I just loaded some video podcasts on my new (apple refurbished) 80gig classic ipod and when I go to play the video podcast on my ipod I get the error message "TV out Enabled please connect video accessory". I don't want to watch on a TV, just on my ipod. thanks so much for help!

I found the answer by searching "tv out enabled" - thanks to the person that answered this. Have to go into videos - settings - and then turn tv out to off.

  • "Please Connect Video Accessory"  help??

    Hello!
So I bought a Sonic Impact Video 55 player, after carefully researching to ensure that it would be compatible with my 3rd gen nano. I did everything that I was supposed to do, and I still can't get my nano to recognize it.
It'll play music just fine. But when I try to get it to play a video, it tells me to "please connect a video accessory". It may be worth pointing out, that I get the same reaction when I try to hook my ipod up to the tv.
    Any clues at all? Thanks!

Did your careful research happen to include the official site (http://www.si5.com/support_newnano.php)?
It says it won't work, which isn't that surprising, considering the V55 is older than the nano.

  • Will my Ipod info be wiped out? Please help.

    Hello,
Due to some unfortunate event, i had to use my boot disk on my laptop( this wasn't due to itunes or anything, just my lappy being difficult ), and reinstall my Ipod and itune ( along with all my other programs ).
Now, i tried importing my old Itune library ( When my lappy was really screwed up i saved it before booting the disk ), but when i import it, the old Playlists show up but not the songs. It says something along the lines of " Certain songs could not be found" or something...
Now, this worries me. I'm afraid that if i plug in my laptop, it will update ( as it dos automaticly) and the songs in my playlist will be gone.
Will it happen if i plug in my ipod? Or is there a way around this? It is more then 1/2 full, i really don't feel like having to make all those playlist again and place all that music and video back in there.
    Please help!!! >_<<br>

Maybe you have the accessibility VoiceOver feature turned on.
Triple click the home button and try going to Settings>General>Accessibility and turn VoiceOver off. You may have to use three fingers to scroll the screen to get there. If problems see the following for how to turn off via iTunes:
iPhone: Configuring accessibility features (including VoiceOver and Zoom)
    Otherwise:
    iOS: Troubleshooting Siri
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings  if you can
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Nano 5th g "TV Out enabled"

I have a Nano 5G that is several years old that I  use with my Honda Fit integrated cable, an Apple Brand composite RCA cable to watch videos on my TV and the video output on the treadmills at my gym (I cannot verify that those are apple brand or not )
I recently switched PCs from XP to Windows 7.  I deauthorized on xp machine first .  After synching with the Windows 7 machine, with the latest version of Itunes, my accessories will no longer work.
The Nano will charge in the Honda, but not play through integrated cable (can still use headphone in aux port) .
When I try and play a video on the TV I get "TV OUT ENABLED, PLEASE CONNECT VIDEO ACCESSORY"
    video settings as follows:
    TV out enabled = yes
    TV Signal = PAL
    TV screen = standard
Again, the variable is the windows 7 itunes - the accessories worked prior to that, and the RCA is the composite cable with the apple brand connector on one side, with three cables branching out with 3 RCA plugs.
    Firmware version = 1.0.2
    Itunes 10.6.3.25 on windows 7

    I got the same message.
    Turn on your nano.
    Go to Videos
In Videos, scroll down to Settings
At the top of the list you will see TV Out
To the right of TV out it will say either on or off
If it is on, click on the wheel at 9 o'clock (pointing left) to turn it off
That should do it, no problem
Once I turn it off my movies play perfectly

  • Ipod Classic 120gb TV out problem

    Hi all,
I've been searching the web for quite some time now and the problem I have has gotten me fairly fustrated. I have searched the apple site, forums and support as well as other ipod-related sites, to no avail.
    This is my problem.
After a fair amount of researching (more than I ought should be necessary) I found the right cable for my ipod's TV out fucntion.
After having purchased my cable (http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB129LL/B) several initial problems arose.
First of all, the ipod states that the cable is not connected. I hook up the cable though the iPod connecting port at the bottom, plug in the red, white and yellow tulips in the TV and the USB either in the charger or computer. In either case the cable will not be recognised.
From there on I have started my search for a solution. Several ways have been offered on the internet, none of them worked. One, however, lead to some progress.
When I reset my device (through holding select+menu) and enabled my TV out signal in the video playback settings menu, the signal works, but for a mere 30 seconds max. After that, the video out signal stops, my ipod goes back to the video selection menu and when I try to reinitiate the video it goes back to saying something in the likes of "TV out enables, please connect a video assesory", where problem I first encountered.
This means it is NOT the cable, as it cleary works after a reset. Something in my iPods soft- or hardware is blocking the signal after 30 seconds, and by now I really, REALLY want to know why.
So please, if there is anybody who can tell me why this is happening, it would be GREATLY appreciated, as this is starting to drive me mildly insane.
    Thanks in advance,
    Kind regards,
    John

Yes, I bought the dock so I could hook it up to my tv. Then I had to buy the cable, I didn't get the cable from Apple. at the time the cable was $50, I went to ebay & found the same cable for about $20. Just like you, I could not find an answer about why the dumb thing wouldn't work, so I just had do my own experiments. Good luck getting Apple to do anything. They don't seem to want to give anything away or replace merchandise.
    Take care!!

  • TV out enabled

I have now managed to convince my iPod to allow me to download a podcast. This was not an easy negotiation.
But the problem is that my iPod has decided that I may not look at these podcasts, or any other videos on the iPod itself. They play just fine out of iTunes, but the iPod feels that I should output them to a TV. It says "TV Out enabled. Please Connect Video Accessory". I feel that my IPod is just not being reasonable. I should be allowed to view videos on the iPod itself without it giving me a really bad attitude. Any suggestions?

Last night, the little bugger decided to go into a weird hibernation mode where it did nothing and no enticement could get it to respond to any input.
I figured I could reboot the crap out of it with the hold-toggle-menu-centre trick. This worked, and got me back inot viewing the videos just fine.
Two questions remain: 1. Why did the the precious little thing decide to change its video settings in the first place? 2. Why is it that Apple cannot provide a help file that is actually helpful?

  • "Please connect iPhone to a computer running a 32-bit version of Windows XP

Anyone! Please, anyone! I just got an iPhone and plugged it in to my existing iTunes and it required for me to update to a new version of iTunes in which I did, which is now 7.4.3.1. When I plug the iPhone in, an error message displays and it says "Please connect iPhone to a conputer running a 32-bit version of Windows XP (SP2) or Windows Vista. I have a Windows Vista and re-checked compatability it everything is fine. I've even re-installed iTunes, and restarted my computer but no success! I still keep getting the same error message. Oh, by the way, I've tried all USB ports as well. =(

It isn't compatible with the 64 bit version of vista. If you search the threads you might find some workarounds that might work. I believe the installer doesn't put the files in the correct directory.
    Good luck...

  • Is there ANY way to track an IPod that is offline, out of battery, and/or not connected to the internet?

On the week of October 21 2014, I lost my IPod. I searched in all the places I remembered it to be last, but despite my best efforts, I still have not found it. I even used the "Find My IPhone" app, but it yielded no results so far. If you know anyone who has the means to locate an IPod that is offline, out of battery or not connected to the internet, please as soon as you can!

No, to show up in iCloud it must have Find My turned on in Settings > iCloud and be powered up and be connected to the internet.
There is no other way an iOS device can be located.
