IPOD A/V Connection Kit

So the iPod A/V Connection Kit caught my eye. This is mostly because I'd like to be able to control my iPod from across the room and see what I'm doing, but I'm wondering, since there is no video output on my iPod, will I still see the interface on my television set?

Unfortunately no. Actually you can not see the iPod interface on the TV with the Apple iPod dock at all, even with the 5G iPod. You will only see videos while they are playing. Menus and selection are not visible.
The only dock that does give you a visible menu is from Griffin called the TuneCentre.

This is an excellent product that should be capable of what you are asking.

  • IPhone 4 with Toyota Avensis TNS510 and iPod/iPhone USB Connectivity kit

I bought a Toyota Avensis Sedan with navigation TNS510 and an iPod/iPhone USB connector kit (Toyota Original accessory)
Im experiencing problems when i connect my phone to the cable, it says that the accessory is not compatible with the phone and the phone starts to charge and when i go into the iPod Application it says Accessory connected.
There it all stops, the car says please check that your iPod unit is connected.
Any one else experiencing same problem?

Hello. Does this mean that the USB connector on the front of the GPS can not be used to plug in my Iphone 4, so I can hear the music.
Nor do I think that the USB connector can be used to charge my Iphone.
USB connector can be used, if I connect a normal USB memory stick.

  • Is there some way to make the iPad Camera Connection Kit work on the iPod touch?

I bought the Camera Connection Kit because a tech said it would work with my iPod Touch, but I get the message that the iPod does not support that connection. I would really like itt to work because I have used an older iPod to back up photos while on vacation. I would simply connect the camera up to the iPod and it would download all the photos from the camera. It was an excellent way not to have to buy lots of SD cards. This kit has a slot for an SD card and I could copy directly from that. So if anyone out there knows how I could make it work, I'd appreciate your input.

Is your MacBook Pro new?  Did it come with Lion preinstalled?  If not do you have the iDVD application in the Applications folder?
If not I suggest you purchase a copy of the iLife 11 disk from Amazon.com or eBay.com or other 3rd party supplier.  Apple does not sell iDVD any more and those items are getting harder to get.
Once you obtain iDVD go to iPhoto and bring up the slideshow.  Then use the Share ➙ iDVD menu option. That will send the slideshow to iDVD from which you can burn a video DVD disk.
I suggest you follow this workflow while working in iDVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the  File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option.  This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image and launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding was good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.

  • Does iPod nano work with Stereo Connection Kit?

Does anyone know if the iPod nano will work with the Stereo Connection Kit w/ monster cables? Someone bought both for me but the connection kit doesn't say it works with the nano anywhere on the box or in the instructions. Thanks for your help

The dock should work if you line it up right but everything else will work just fine. Realise you need USB to sync with a computer but Firewire is fine for charging.

  • Can I use the Camera Connection Kit to transfer files from my Mob/PS3/iPod?

Can I use the Camera Connection Kit to transfer files from my mobile/iPod or Playstation 3 to iPad using a USB cable?
    I have an *iPod nano 16GB 5g* & my mobile is a *Samsung G800* and *Playstation 3 80GB*.
    _Thanks for reading_

The CCK will find/ask to download (if iPad supported formate )picture and video files if the device is formated in FAT 16 or 32 and the supported files are placed in a "DCIM" folder in the root directory. I have transfered such files from SD card and USB drives. However, not USB drive work. I had an old 2GB (very large) and when i connected it it said it drew too much power.
I also downloaded pictures and video files from a compact flash card and smart media card via a SanDisk USB card reader.

No. The CCK is only designed to allow you to import photos from a digital camera via USB or an SD card. You cannot import any data via this kit and no other files will work as it's designed for only the functionality it does. The kit looks for a folder with the label "DSC####### the same structure as most digital cameras, and will only function with JPG files.

  • The USB Power Adapter of the iPod AV Connection Kit

I am a new user of iPod and thinking of buying an iPod AV Connection Kit ("Kit") so that I can view video from TV. If I am not wrong, the "Kit" includes a USB Power Adapter, which charges iPod plugged. My question is "do I have to switch off the Power Adapter if iPod is unplugged?" Or the Dock is so smart that the power will be cut if the iPod is unplugged.
The 2nd question is can I select a video and/or music inside the iPod through viewing the connected TV by using the remote included inside the said "Kit"?
    Thanks a lot

The USB Power adapter isn't a smart device - much more like a charger: The only way to switch it off, is to unplug it from the A/C outlet.
But you may leave it pluged into A/C: Nothing will happen except a small consumption of electricity.
ad 2: You may view a video through your connected TV set, but there will be nothing like a TV menu to select it - if you want this feature you have to buy a 3rd party docking station.

How do I use the camera connection kit to transfer photos from iPhone 4 with ios 7.0.2 to iPad 2 with ios 7.0.2?

"In addition to supporting digital cameras and SD cards, you can import photos and videos from your iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, and iPod nano (5th generation) using the Camera Connector."

Once pictures are moved from your camera to your iPad (using the camera connection kit), how do you get the photos off of the iPad? They do not show up in my photo stream or my iCloud. I am able to see any photo I took on the iPad using the iPad camera (in iTunes, photo stream, or when I open windows explorer and browse the iPad director), however I cannot see any photos transfered from my camera to the iPad. The camera connection kit must have put my photos in a directory I cannot get to and cannot sync.

  • Av connection kit but no video

i have recently bought an av connection kit to connect my ipod 30GB to the tv in order to watch movie.
Unfortunately, I have plug in the av cable to my tv but only has sounds and no SIGN OF VIDEO at all even though i already set tv out in my ipod video setting.
Can anyone else tell me why this is not working?

I had a similar problem when I bought mine. I had to change some settings in the iPod - Got to: Settings > Video Settings > TV Out. There you will get three options (off, on, or ask). Mine was defaulted to "off," and as soon as I changed it, it worked... Hope that helps!

  • Cannot see images on TV though AV Connection Kit

    Hi,
I've just bought AV Connection Kit to plug my Ipod 30Gb 5G to my TV, but I just can hear the songs.
In an apple add I saw that, when a song is being played, the same image on the IPod screen can be seen on TV. Weel, I have connected everything (no misteries about it) and I always get a black screen on TV, although I can hear the songs.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    TIA,
    Israel.

You can't display album/song artwork on the TV. Is that what you mean?
The only thing you can display are photos and movies.
I believe that there are some 3rd party docks that allow this, along with with the iPod menus.
    I think Marantz make one.

  • Ipad camera connect kit not working

When I attach my iPod camea connect kit (the Appel one, not 3rd party) to my iPad 3, I get the message that the accessory is not supported.  What gives?  I pop in an SD card and it doesn't read anything.  All I get is the not supported message a few times.

I have the new iPad also, white 64GIG 4G and my camera connection kit is not working either. The same camera connection kit purchased at my local Apple store worked fine with my iPad 2. I've tried everything (e.g. power-off, reset, restore, putting photos on the card then connecting, and reformatting the card using disk utility) and it even shows the camera connection kit under "general" "about" it just doesnt work as far as being recognized in the photo app. I guess this is where AppleCare phone support comes in handy. I hope this gets fixed because I've been shooting a lot of video and creating some pretty good home movies with my kids using iMovie. I would really like to get these large files transferred onto my Mac. The SD card I'm using is a PNY Professional SDHC 4GIG Class 10 just to provide all the variables I'm working with. What am I missing?
