Ipod A-Z Scrolling

I have a 30Gb Video Ipod. Has anyone noticed w/ Itunes 7 upgrade that if you accelarate your scroll speed in Artist or Albums, the scrolling will change to A-Z scrolling?

I think this is a serious design flaw on Apple's part, and I'm surprised it's lingered as long as it has - the monitors are just not adjustable.
About the only way you can raise the monitor is to stand it on something. If you're in an office, reams of copier paper seem to work well, as tacky as that may be.

IPod 1st Gen (Scroll wheel) not recognized by iTunes

iPod 1st Gen (with scroll wheel) will not connect to iTunes 12.1 on MacBookPro. Charging when I plug it in, want to add music to it, but iTunes will not recognize it. Anyone have any suggestions or does anyone know if this iPod is no longer supported by iTunes?

IPod freezing when scrolling down the music app?

I own a 3rd Generation iPod touch. I plugged it into my computer as usual, but when I decided to disconnect and start listening to the music I had recently put in, I realized that it wouldn't let me scroll very far. I wanted to listen to the Cream albums I had put in my iPod only to realize that I couldn't get past the A's in the list of artists, and if I attempted to go any farther down, it would freeze and crash the music app. My playlists were also wiped blank on my iPod even though they would appear just fine on iTunes when I'd plug in my iPod again.
I've tried resetting and restarting the iPod, closing the music app, and so on, but so far nothing seems to have worked. I don't want to end up having to restore my iPod, because I've a lot of music scattered across different computers and it would be a pain, to say the least, to get that and all the saved photos restored again. Is there anything else I can do?

Help!!! My iPod Mini keeps scrolling through songs, I can't select

When I choose songs, and select one, the song does not play. The Ipod mini just continues scrolling through song titles. We can pause, but not play. Tried reset, no good. Any ideas?

Does this only happen with songs that you've purchased from the iTunes Store, or does it happen with imported CDs, too?
If it's only with the iTS songs, then take a look here:

If it also happens with imported music as well, then I would suggest that you try restoring your iPod.

Ipod nano 7 scrolling?

i bought the ipod nano 7th generation and don't seem to be able to scroll on it? the music/ nike/ etc icons get a box around when clicked on and nothing else? i also can't scroll to the second page for settings etc?

Sounds like some Accessibility features have been turned on. See this article for instructions on disabling these features.

Is the new iPod classic's scroll wheel less sensitive?

I have an iPod video that had a silicone skin on it. When I put the it on the new iPod classic I recently bought, it can't sense my scrolling. Same issue when I put it in my armband that has a plastic cover. Curious to know how many other people have or have had this issue. Wondering if there's any way to change the sensitivity on the iPod.

I think the topic starter means iPod 3G not the second generation iPhone 3G.
But sorry, I don't know. I never used the new USB-cable for the iPod 3G, I always used Firewire.

My ipod won't scroll and instead clicks wherever my finger slides to

I hadn't used my iPod in about a week and its pretty broken,
I try to scroll through, say my settings, and instead to scrolling down it clicks on wherever my finger lands,
will only scroll sometimes but in short bursts, meaning it can take a long time to scroll through a simple message.
Any ideas?

- First go to Settings>General>Accessibility and make sure all are turned off

IPod in iPad scroll isses

I seem to be the first one facing this issue.... but this is absolutely ridiculous!
The iPod in iPad 2 scroll bar doesnt scroll further down properly in the landscape mode of the iPad.
this happens when the "now playing" bar shows down with the image of the song im listening to.
so basically, the playlists are covered by the now playing icon bar, and i am not being able to scroll the list upwards to view the playlists below.
i dont know if i have explained it enough for someone to understand and helpppppppp me as it is irritating! but this is happening on my iPad 2 with ios 4.3.1 (btw: i have already tried a restore)

This is a terrible usability bug that crept in circa iOS 4.3.x.
I just posted encountering the same issue at https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3051524 (search engine didn't find your comment until AFTER I posted my problem; either a shortcoming of the new discussions UI or my incompetence with using it).
The best workaround I've found is to create 5 bogus playlists that will always alphabetically sort to the bottom of the list (i.e. "--------------"), never to be used.

Syncing movie screen for iPod touch wont scroll

When I connect my ipod touch, then go to movies tab in the itunes (v9.02) two or three lines of movie icons show and the tops of the next row. If i try too scroll down, the initial window goes up like a window shade and leaves me a blank screen, it does not reveal the rest of the movie icons. Is there some setting in itunes that will affect this or is it a bug?

IPOD (3G) randomly scrolls through songs!!

When I am listening to a playlist, my ipod will randomly stop playing and start scrolling through the songs on the playlist continually and it won't stop. Then I have to reset the ipod just so i can use it again but the problems repeats itself very often.
Anyone have any ideas why???

Ok, so I was walking around with my ipod in my pocket. I hear a song playing so I turn the song off to play another one. The song stops playing, but I can't do anything with the scroll wheel. Yes, I've checked my updates,tried to recover it, and done the rest. It shows the apple icon the it goes back to the main screen and doesn't let me go anywhere! But! When I insert it into my spa fusion ipod home product it plays and lets me scroll! Please help me! I love my ipod dearly and can afford to go out and buy another one. Can anyone please help me?

Is there any chance that the Nano (it is a Nano, right?) got wet in your pocket, especially from perspiration? I don't know how waterproof these things are, but I suspect contact of the wheel with salty perspiration, which is a fairly good electrical conductor, is not good for them.

3G iPod nano with scroll wheel when the iPod is connected

The scroll wheel of my brand new 3G iPod doesn't respond when I plug it in a dock cable (the dock connector of the USB cable and the dock connector of the FM tuner). The iPod is recognized by the computer and can be synchronized. The FM tuner is working except that I can't use the scroll wheel.
It seems to be an hardware problem. I try to reset it several times without success.

No it is every time I just plug the iPod through the dock even the FM tuner.
Any connection of the dock connector deactivate the scroll wheel.

IPOD Mini Automatically scrolls through play list

I am not sure what is going on but I turn my IPOD Mini on and when I go to playlist and songs recently purchased and try and play something it automatically starts going through every song when I try to stop it may for a moment but I cannot get anything to play it just keeps going through everything. I am at a loss to find out what is going on. I have had this for a year and never a problem. I did not drop it nor did I bang it against anything...Any advise?

iPod does not play content purchased from the iTMS.
If you have made sure that both the iTunes and iPod software are current and have deauthorized and reauthorized your computer, try this test:
1. Deauthorize the computer.
2. Create a new user in the system.
3. Download the free song of the week from the iTMS in the new user account.
4. Play the song in that user account to authorize again.
5. Restore the iPod (using the iPod updater) in the new user account.
6. Sync just the free song of the week and see if it plays on the iPod.
If it does, you appear to have a corrupted iTunes library file, and you should recreate the iTunes library file in your normal user account, and then sync your music back to the iPod and all should be well.

I can Unlock it but thats it past that I have to tap the five times on everything for it to move. My apps Wont work. I can't get to my Music whats Going on?
