Ipod and computer not syncing

my IPod 2G is not syncing to my computer any more. it's just charging.

It might be worth checking if your mobile device service is running. I had a similar problem to this and found out my mobile device service had not started properly. I found the following apple link http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1567 for restarting the service useful and my problem now seems to have disappeared.

  • IPod and iTunes not syncing after restoring library on new computer

Recently, my computer crashed. Lost everything. I was finally able to restore my music on my laptop to iTunes. However, now when I upload new music from the store, it saves it on my library, but will not sync to my iPod, even when I manually try to sync it.
    Help!!!

Since the computer crash, have you re-authorized it?

  • IPod and iTunes not syncing properly

When I swipe a song to the right on my iPod and tap delete, a cloud appears with a down arrow. The song never leaves my iPod and I am still able to play it with the cloud/arrow showing. The cloud symbol remains after syncing and the song will still play. In fact the cloud symbol never goes away until I tap it. If I tap the cloud I get the circle/square symbol indicating it has been downloaded/added to my iPod. Conversely, when I drag music on iTunes to my iPod I see the green plus sign but the song does not appear on my iPod after syncing nor on iTunes. I also have unchecked music on iTunes listed for my iPod and they still don't go away after syncing.
    iPod touch 5g, refurbished
    iTunes 11.1.3 (8)

As a last ditch attempt I unchecked all the albums, artists and manually loaded songs on my iPod via iTunes and synced my iPod. After syncing there were 3 songs left on my iPod which I was able to delete in the normal fashion (sliding left and touching the red "Delete" prompt). I synced my iPod again. Now iPod was empty. I then loaded the songs I wanted by clicking and dragging the albums I wanted to my iPod via iTunes. I synced again and now my iPod has the songs that I currently want on it.

  • IPod and iTune not syncing

Hi, my iPod touch used iOS 6.1.5 and recently, when I add new songs to the iPod and sync with iTunes, the album covers are no longer that of the songs added. They somehow end up being all mixed up.  I've tried deleting and re adding the songs but though they are correct on iTunes, they are extremely incorrect on the iPod.
Is there anyway beside restoring the iPod that I can have this corrected.  I've got a total of almost 800 songs and I'm looking for a simple solution if one is available.
    Thanks

If deleting all music and resyncing does not work then you have to restore.

  • HT1296 iphone and computer not syncing calendar

I have a new iphone 5 and use a macbook with os 10.6.8 and itunes 11.0.1. When I connect with my usb to sync phone and computer, the calendar will not delete things or add things that I have on the computer or on the phone. I have all calendars marked and I've tried just checking other specific calendars and nothing is working. Is there a setting or something I might be missing??

  • Cannot get ipod and computer to sync?

I purchased my ipod 2 days ago. I loaded all the software...itunes etc....purchased 2 cd's on itunes without the ipod connected. I then connected the ipod and it said "downloading". Long story short nothing is showing to be on the ipod but itunes is saying the songs are there when I click on my ipod in itunes. I contacted apple support last night and described the problem...told them I attempted a restore and they are saying my software is no good and I need to take my ipod back and get a new one. Can anybody help? there has got to be something else I can do to correct this. Thanks alot and any help is appreciated.

Have you created playlists for your two CD's?
Playlists are files you create that "store" your music for access on your iPod.

  • I accidentally reset my Ipod nano 5th generation and now it say's window's Ipod and will not sync in Itunes... How can this be fixed?

The Ipod shows up in Itunes as "Window's Ipod" but won't let me manually sync through devices or restore.  I can't seem to click on the "window's Ipod box to cjange it back to "my Ipod" either.  I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Itunes and used different USB ports and still no change.

  • IPod and computer not recognizing hookup from USB cable

I got my ipod in september and havent had any problems. recently, my computer had to go in to be fixed cuz it was overrun by viruses. during that time i used my dads computer to charge up my ipod. he doesn't have itunes, but i charged it anyway. i got my computer back and had to reinstall itunes cuz it wasnt fully functional. now it works fine, but whenever i plug my ipod/usb cable into the computer, it makes two blippy sounds but other than that doesn't register that i plugged it in. my ipod screen lights up, but thats all. i really want to get some new songs onto my ipod. help plz!!!!!!

I got the same problem with my ipod 3rd gen. before but I was successful to solve it. All you have to do is click on Start and go to control panel --> double click on "system" --> at the top of the "system hardware" window, there are 6 tabs, click on the "Hardware" tab --> click on "Device manager" button in the device manager setting. A new window "Device manager" will appear. Roll the scroll bar down till you see the "Universal Serial Bus Controllers". double click on it. A list of controllers will appear. You would be most likely to see this line "Apple USB storage" with a little yellow triangle symbol infront of it. Double click on it. Go to "driver" tab and click on "rollback driver" button. And tada ... youre done! Now your computer Should recognize your Ipod no matter what.
Hope this would help you a little bit.

my ipod touch will not sync with my computer and the computer says that it is due to an impropper response from ipod , what do I do?

    Check USB connections
If there’s an issue with the USB port, cable, dock, or hub, or if the device becomes disconnected during restore, try troubleshooting the USB connection, then troubleshooting your security software.
    Common errors: 13, 14, 1600-1629, 1643-1650, 2000-2009, 4000, 4005, 4013, 4014, 4016, “invalid response”, and being prompted to restore again after a restore completes.
To narrow down the issue, you can also change up your hardware:
    Use another USB cable.
Plug your cable into a different USB port on your computer.
Try a different dock connector (or no dock).
Add (or remove) a USB hub between your device and computer.
Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, with no routers, hubs, or switches.
If you see your error after changing your USB connections, continue to the next section to troubleshoot your hardware.

  • Help!  My Classic iPod 80 will not sync and is not recognized on my windows computer after a major overhaul of system...

After researching found out iPod had metadata_ndex_never and will not sync...how do I fix this?

General troubleshooting for unrecognized ipods in Windows is mentioned here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1495
Start by checking Apple Mobile Device Service: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1567
Removing and reinstalling iTunes is covered here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1923
As mentioned in this article, reinstalling iTunes will not delete your music and apps, but backing up is always a good idea.
iTunes Store purchases or songs imported from CDs are saved in your My Music folder by default and are not deleted by removing iTunes. While it is highly unlikely that you will lose any contents of your iTunes Library when following these steps, it is always a good idea to ensure that your iTunes library is backed up. See how to back up the contents of your iTunes library in How to back up your media in iTunes.

  • I installed latest version of itunes on windows 8 computer but my ipod touch will not sync all albums

I installed the latest version of itunes on a widows 8 computer but my ipod touch is not syncing all the albums.  Why and what can I do to fix it?

  • IPod touch will not Sync to my new Computer

Recently I have got a new computer, and when I upgraded to Windows 7 decided to move my music from my laptop to the new computer.
After transferring all my music to my new computer, I then plugged in my iPod, and tried to Sync it to this. First of all it said it was synced to another computer, and asked if I wanted to transfer purchases across. After selecting this option, after 20secs it failed with an unknown error, and same when I repeated this a couple more times.
So I decided to restored the iPod using the 'Restore' option in iTunes. After this was completed and the iPod was like new, I tried to sync again, and every time i try this, it comes up with various unknown errors to do with missing files, and just inability to sync, so I'm stuck without any music on it.
Has anyone got any suggestions before I resort to going to an Apple store, as it's over a 2 hour journey away.
Ps, I'm on Windows 7 64-bit, ask if want anymore details about my system if that will help
    Thanks in advance,
    Dom

    The Motherboard is Gigabyte P55-UD3
That's perfect, thanks Dom. The P55 chipsets are associated with iPhone/iTouch syncing errors on Windows 7 systems ... -6999, 0xE0000065 and "disk could not be read or written to" are probably the most common. So I think we'd better get those issues off the table first.
A number of Gigabyte-motherboard owners are reporting relief via BIOS updates (although I don't have a good feel at this stage which of the particular boards have available updates that help with this set of problems). So the first thing to do would be to head to Gigabyte to check to see if they have newer versions of the BIOS, and/or newer versions of the chipset drivers available for your UD3:
    http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Support/Default.aspx
If no joy there, another workaround that has been helping for people is the BIOS configuaration change described in the following post:

Are either of those measures of any help?
