Ipod and Outlook Calendar (help needed)
Does anybody know how could I add the location field (from calendar event's details) in the syncronising data going to Ipod ?

The iPod calendar doesn't display the location field although it is sync'd. You need to put your location information into the description field.
I wrote a Perl script that can be used to edit the calendar files on the iPod and move the location into description automatically, and it is available on my website <http://its.usc.edu/~bbellina/downloads>, however you would need to have Perl installed on your Windows PC to use it. It should be compatible with Outlook vcs files. You would use it after you sync your calendars.

Problem synching iPod and Outlook calendars
When I sync my iPod (Gen5 60GB) and Outlook calendars, I get a time discrepancy starting October 29, 2006 (the day DST ends). All appointments on my iPod calendar display 1 hour later than in Outlook.
Has anyone else had/solved this problem?
HP Pavilion Windows XP ProYes I am having the same issue. I wish I had not upgraded to 7 because not only I am not able to synch contact (all of them and calendar) I also lost all playlists, movies, original contacts, etc. I cannot reach anyone in phone support and the "genuises" in the store don't have a clue except that they know there are bugs! Why release the **** thing if there are significant problems?
I hope someone has a solution!! -
I have an iPod video with a 30G drive, and the latest version of iTunes.
I have followed the directions and cannot get my iPod to import my Outlook Calendar. It gives no errors, there just isn't anything there. Their work-around, manually exporting each appointment and saving them as files on the iPod, is just plain silly. Who has that kind of time?

It's silly because?
If you do not have Outlook 2003 and this method is silly, then you don't get the appt on your iPod.
Who has that kind of time?
Someone who does not have Outlook 2003 and needs the info on their iPod.
If their time is that important, they would upgrade to Outlook 2003. -
HT1692 Help--I need my iphone and Outlook Calendars to talk to each other.
After the last iOS update, my iphone and Outlook calendars are not communicating:
My iphone calendar sends to the gmail account associated with MS Outlook, but not to icloud--it does receive from iCloud.
Outlook does not to go to iCloud, or for that matter, to the gmail account that Outlook is associated with--nor does Outlook receive events from iCloud.
So, iCloud doesn't get stuff from iphone calendar, and after an aborted try at self-fixing, is no longer connected with Outlook at all.
I've tried to work through iSolutions, etc., but can't seem to follow, or match my circumstances, to what is provided. Can someone give me simple, step by step instructions on where my settings should be at all 3 points? I would be very grateful!

i bought a second hand ipod 5 and the original owner forgot the email and password and i can't restore the ipod and it says i need the original apple ID but i dont know it could anyone help me??
If you can access the device: Tap Settings -> General -> Reset -> Erase All Content and Settings.
If you can't do that then you need to Restore it as New:
Locked Out, Forgot Lock or Restrictions Passcode, or Need to Restore Your Device: Several Alternative Solutions

Forgotten Restrictions Passcode Help
You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.

Follow these steps to place your iOS device into recovery mode. If your iOS device is already in recovery mode, you can proceed immediately to step 6.
1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the
other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds
until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
* If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the
Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off,
release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the
device. The device should turn on. Note: If you see the battery charge warning,
let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some
charge, and then start with step 2 again.
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.

Note: When using recovery mode, you can only restore the device. All user content on the device will be erased, but if you had previously synced with iTunes on this computer, you can restore from a previous backup. See this article for more information. -

Shared Outlook Calendar - help!
Hi.
I have a shared outlook calendar in outlook 2010. I'd like to allow a small group of people read/write access, then a larger group to have read only access, and couldn't figure out how to set that up. I was able to grant the read/write access
to the smaller group, but then the larger group couldn't see the details of the meetings ect.
Is there a way to do this?

IPod, iTunes, & Outlook Calendar
I recently updated to iTunes v5.0 and was excited to find that I could sync my Outlook Calendar and Contacts. I enabled the setting to automatically update my calendar and contacts.
When I update, the transfer of my contacts is fine. However, when iTunes tries to sync my calendar, I get an error message. After allowing iTunes access to my Outlook calendar, I get the following message: "The iPod 'IPOD NAME' cannot be updated. An unknown error occurred (-50)"
I am running Microsoft Outlook 2003 on Windows XP. I have the updated iPod software (3.1) for my 20GB iPod (non-photo).
If anyone else is having similar issues or if anyone has found a workaround, please post. It would me very much appreciated.

Can't sync between moble me calendar and outlook calendar
I downloaded the newest version of iTunes, checked my preferences. i hit "sync" and it seems to go ok, no error message, but nothing is in my outlook calendar. any advice??

Just chiming in to say that the DROID 2 should be working with CompanionLink/DejaOffice. How are you trying to sync? If it's via USB, my guess is that the sync troubles are relateded to the driver software failing to install. EP7 and Outlook Calendar entries
Hi,
I have a requirement where Calendar will be collaborated with EP7 and the calendar entries will need to be edited on events triggered from Portal.
is there any connectivity between Outlook and Portal such that i can retrieve calendar data for a user and could change calendar entries programmatically through some API.

MMWell, I've followed some instructions at another thread, and gotten reid of all the CICAL links in my Services section. That's removed the "Send as" and an email address for each calendar item on the BB. Also, all of them are now the same color, and all are part of the "Default" calendar.
When I go to the DM Backup and Restore > Advanced, I see I have only one Calendar on the BB and it has all my records.
Problem is that it still doesn't sync with Outlook. All that's left on my outlook calendar are a handful of appts added after the Facebook update. The rest of the appts on my handheld will not sync, even if I set the sync command to one way / replace all.
So that's where it stands. Any further help would be most welcome. -
Ipod Touch: My Issues, help needed as fast as possible
Well recently i got an Ipod Touch 2nd Generation for christmas, and i must say i love it. But i have got some serious problems. 1) all applications that were not standard on the itouch crash unexpectedly and the only way to rectify this issue is to download something from the app store and they work again :S. Yes that is as bizarre as it sounds. Sometimes it will work fine and i can use any of my apps whenever i like. But frequently(more frequently as time goes on) the applications dont open, i touch them they open the background for the app and they take me back to the main screen. I have tried the following: reseting the iPod, restoring it to factory settings, uninstalling apps and then re-installing and this issue is resolute. I also happen to know that some other 2nd Generation Touch owners at my school have the very same issue. I have seen some threads dotted about explaining their issues that are similar to this, meaning its fairly widespread.
My second issue is really bugging me, i opened the itunes store for the first time on my iPod(i never get any of my music from itunes normally i detest the application.) and all of a sudden it downloaded a podcast without me telling it to. It was called Podhead: The DoorWhores Off to vegas. This is something i really do not wish to have on my iPod. So i synced it to my windows OS and tried to re-sync the iPod's podcasts with my library so that it would dissappear. But it didn't, i then tried setting it to manually putting files on my ipod and alas it doesnt show up in the podcasts sub section of the device. I tried playing the podcast and it takes me to the home screen of my ipod with the Play triangle flickering constantly in the top right of my ipod. I don't know what is going on with that but i havnt restored it to factory settings after this issue, mainly because my iPod refuses to accept that i own all of the apps i have backed up and i have no desire to manually re-download them to my ipod.
3) That last scentence brings me nicely onto my final problem which is this: my computer tells me that i do not have the authority to put onto my ipod. Despite all of them being free and despite all of them having being backed up from my ipod.

Did you try to restore your iPod to factory settings and add your apps one by one to find out which app causes the crash? Try not to restore from a backup it may contain the corrupt parts you don't want to install again.

Computer restarts when ipod is connected urgent help needed
alright this is weird, I've had my ipod for ages and suddenly I go to plug it in and the computer slows down really really really slow and eventually just turns it self off, restarts and then sits in a black screen. if I leave the ipod plugged into the computer and restart it again it just goes straight back to the black screen, but both my ipod and computer work fine when there not connected. i have the latest version of itunes which seemed to help the first time i tried it actually started to update the ipod but then guess what the computer has another heart attack. urgent help needed please!!!

Given this, I'd put it down to a flaky power supply in the computer. Might want to try using another computer or replacing the PSU. -

All you can do is look for it like you would a lost sock.

No app on the iPod is required.
- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected, on a computer browser go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up or continue to show off-line.
- You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.

- If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.

Sync ipad and outlook calendars
When my outlook calendar syncs to my ipad, all of the calendars I have access to are not imported. There are two calendars that are shared calendars and they are not there. Can anyone help me with this.
