IPod app refuses to open

Got a problem with the iPod app on my iPad. After syncing with iTunes the iPod app attempts to open but then quickly closes. Also, any app that uses music tracks( I.e. The alarm clock) will not open either. I do not have internet access other than my iPad.
Any ideas on what should do.
Thanks

Things to try:
1) Press and Hold the Home and Wake Sleep buttons until the Apple Logo appears.
2) If that doesn't work, try a reset, To reset go to Settings, General, Reset, Reset.
3) Apple support at this link: http://www.apple.com/support/expert/
Or you can take it to an Apple store to see an expert.

  • My IPod apps won't open. So I looked it up, and it said to sync the apps to itunes, i tried this, but when i try to sync, the apps won't show up on Itunes. It keeps saying "0 apps". What do i do?

Ever since yesterday, my Ipod apps won't open properly. I googled it, and couldn't find anything accurate. So i deleted all of the apps, and re-downloaded them. Now they're doing it again. When i tap on it, it looks like it wants to open, but then it goes back to the main menu. I googled it again, and got an answer saying to go to Itunes, uncheck the "sync apps" box, and sync. Then after that, recheck the box, and sync again. Many people said this worked, but it didn't for me. Also whenI go to sync my apps, they don't show up in Itunes. How do I get them to show up in Itunes?

I had the same issue. After searching around online I found out that you can try downloading another app (it can be any app) onto your ipod. After it finishes downloading see if your other apps open. You don't even have to keep the new app. Just see if your other ones work and you can delete the new one. That should work. If not, try to hard reset it. Here is another apple support link for steps on hard reseting it (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1430).

my ipod app no longer works. Everytime I go to open the ipod app it stays open for a second and then shuts down. I'm sure there will be an update soon to correct this, i just wanted to see if anyone else was having the same problem.

    ipod apps will not open

Do yo mean that the open/try to opem and then very quickly close?
    One app or many?
    Try:
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Purchase/install any new app
    - iOS: Troubleshooting applications purchased from the App Store
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.

  • Ipod app wont stay open for more than 2 seconds...just loaded IOS 4

Hey so last night i downloaded the new IOS 4 for this thing and i was very happy with it, started making a playlist on the phone etc.
This morning I wake up and when i click the ipod app it opens up only to go back to the home screen within about 2 seconds. Just crashes. I tried using the double click feature just to play some kind of music. It starts to play, but within 2 seconds- crashes.
    Please Help.

    Hi
    I've had similar issues.
Following a recent synch when on iOS4.0, the iPod would close after a few seconds.
I decided to do a restore and upgrate to 4.02 since I had other issues - slow response when typing and moving between screens or opening apps.
Since doing this, the iPod states there is no content, yet I have just loaded 10GB of music onto it.
I have carried out a number of restores using different PCs & Laptops, and set up the phone as a new one, but atill have the same issue. I have the latest iTunes and have done endless reboots etc.
I have always had issues when upgrading the iOS with this phone, and find that resoring on my XP laptop works, yet I always get errors when restoring on vista 32/64 OS.
    Can anyone offer any suggestions?
    Regards
    Grant

  • IPad 1 ipod app crashes everytime opened on 4.3

I've had a huge problem with lag and my ipod app crashing on my iPad 1 ever since i upgraded to 4.3 HELP!! All my apps are up to date...i've tried power cycling it. Its just a regular old original iPad 1 16gb wifi model.

    Try a System Reset:
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.
A System Reset does not remove any apps, music, movies, etc. nor does it cause any settings to revert back to default.
Also, you might wish to download the iPad-2 User Guide. Pay special attention to page 162. Note that this Guide also applies to the iPad-1 with IOS 4.3 except for those functions that are not supported by the hardware.
    http://support.apple.com/manuals/#ipad
Finally, the User Guide can be downloaded at no charge via iBooks and a less comprehensive version of the Guide is included as a Safari bookmark.

  • Some Apps refuse to open or close after a few seconds. Is it the apps or the phone?

Has anyone else suffered from the following glitches?
A few apps I have purchased recently have worked fine for a couple of days but then seem to stop working. By stop working I mean an app is pressed, the screen flashes to black as though opening the app, but then fails and returns back to the original screen. This has happened on two apps thus far, shiftlife organiser and the free app movie SFX. I had to delete them and re-sync them on ITunes. They both appear to work fine for a few weeks and then fail to work for no obvious reason.
Another app Met Office Weather, will open correctly, but when navigating through the app to say weather maps, just shuts it down continuously. A game Death Rally, which I have been playing on and off for a while with no issues, now will open for a few seconds and then close itself again.
Another issue is functions not appearing. From the main menu screen I have flicked left to the search screen to find there is no keypad, or when accessing ITunes via the phone, cannot input the ITunes ID as there is no keypad to enter the password.
On each occaision i have rebooted the phone, but I dont want to have to keep performing this manual fix each time.
Its almost appears as though a virus is slowly infecting my Iphone 4S V5.0.1.
    HELP!!

    Basics are restart, reset, restore.
Have you tried each of these?

  • Apps Refuse to Open - I haven't found an answer to this anywhere else :(

    Hey,
I have recently had trouble with a few apps made by the company Voltage Inc., it seems similar to a lot of problems seen with apps on the iPod touch, when I touch the app to load it, it starts up but then after a few seconds it shuts off again, in some cases a message appears 'Close App' and the only option is to press 'Yes'. I have tried all of the fixes for it, including:
Turning the iPod on and off
    Turning the app off
Installing the app a new from the app store
Installing a new app from the store
Updating my iPod to the newest iOS
Every other app on my iPod works, so I don't understand why these aren't, I don't believe it's got anything to do with my iPod as my other apps all work so restoring it wont do much good. I have bought over £40 of in app purchases from this company and as of yet I have found nowhere I can submit a complaint to, or even go about getting my money back if this glitch isn't fixed.
    Help! :'(

  • Windows 8.1 - Settings & Apps refuse to open?!

    Hello,
In order for me to solve another error with my computer - Driver Stopped responding and has recovered - I have been given the method of reinstalling Windows 8 (Refresh without losing files). However in order for me to do this I need to access my computers'
settings and for some odd reason for the past couple of days, I have been unable to access the marketplace, random apps, and the settings. I have tried researching and performing various solutions however all failing, such as: sfc /scannow, attempting to refresh
windows 8.1 by inserting disk however receiving error message at 96% Windows Installation failed, and many more solutions! Please help me try fix this!

    Hi John,
If you have the recovery media, insert the recovery media into your computer and restart. Your computer should boot from the recovery media automatically. (If it doesn’t, you may need to change its boot order.) Then you’ll see options for
troubleshooting and repairing your PC. You can refresh and reset your PC or access advanced options to use system restore, recover from a system image, or automatically repair your computer. You can even get a command prompt that will allow you to fix problems
    by hand.
However, I would like to suggest you change another user or create a new user and sign in  that user to see if the issue persist.
If it gone, it should be the user profile issue.
    Fix the user profile.
If it's still, open Control Panel and then All Control Panel Items > Recovery, click on the If you’re experiencing problems… link and see if PC Setting opens.

  • IPad iPod App working horribly after update

After the update, my ipod app on my ipad 2 has been working horribly. When I click on a song, a different song will play, and when i try to go back a song, it skips and repeats. There is just so many problems. When im listening, a song will come on and then it wont play, even if i press 'pause' then 'play'. Also, all the lyrics that I imputed into iTunes is not showing up on the iPad. My lyrics are there, just not on the ipad and there isnt an option for lyrics selection.
Overall, this update was fine, just many problems with the iPod App.

Yeah, I'm stuck in the same place. Last week the Ipod app crashed on open. I ran the video app and it worked when I played a podcast. After that, the Ipod app then worked. All was well for a while but now NEITHER the iPod app or the Video app will launch successfully. Note sure really what to do this time.
The last time, before I figured out that video fix, a complete restore did not work. Granted, I restored from backup for I don't want to restore as NEW since I have hours invested in inputting data in financial apps that I really don't want to lose by really starting as if it was a new ipad. Sadly, they don't yet have good backup restore options in some of the apps.

  • Why do my apps refuse to start when my iPod 4G turns off from lack of power?

When my iPod 4th Generation runs out of power and shuts off, giving me the signal to plug it in to charge, some apps refuse to work. For example, I open up an app, and it immediately closes. Is this because there are some apps from another account on the iDevice?

The account has nothing to do with it.
Try the standard fixes to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod
if still problem that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

The problem has been fixed with the most recent OS X software update.

  • The safari app on my Ipod touch won't open.
