  • Ipod touch itunes help needed.

I purchased an album of ITunes the other day on my ipod touch and downloaded it. After a couple of hours of listening to it I got a notification for the latest update. After install my latest purchase disappeared from my music. I tried going to the iTunes app and redownloading it but when I clicked on the cload symbol it just said already downloaded. No problem I thought so I loaded iTunes on my Mac and tried to transfer it that way. I get the copying to my ipod come up for the correct amount of songs but it still doesn't show at all on my ipod. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
Btw I can still play the album in iTunes on my mac fine.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Manage Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:

  • Ipod mini troubles: Help Needed

I really need help with ipod mini troubleshooting..
I've had my Ipod mini for about 3 years now and lately have been running into a few problems.
    In the past few months:
-My Ipod's "battery meter" has been acting really strange, one second it may be reading as 3/4 full, and the next it shuts down saying that my battery has depleted, then a few minutes later it will be reading full again. And just to let you know, I always charge it overnight to avoid having a dead battery, and I always make sure to properly shut it off using "hold".
Resetting my ipod works sometimes, but other times doesn't..
    Yesterday:
My Ipod is no longer responding at all, and I'm pretty sure I know why: Some careless person spilled some water near and on my ipod, I dried it off as soon as I could. It was working properly shortly afterwards, but a few hours later, it shut off saying that the battery was dead again, and a picture of a "cartoon ipod" with dead eyes("XX") appeared on my screen, and it said under the picture to go to "www.apple/support/ipod". This was when it wasn't connected to a power source. When I connected my ipod to my computer via USB, my itunes does not recognize that it is connected ("Do not disconnect" does not appear on my ipod) and a picture of a "dead battery" has appeared on my screen, it is not in the "recharging mode" either (with the picture of the battery moving).
I tried re-setting it numourous times, and always end up with either the "dead battery" picture, or the "dead cartoon ipod" picture on it.
Help would be greatly appreciated, as I use my ipod everyday for school and leisure.
    Thanks.

I've tried that several times without luck.

  • MAJOR iPod/iTunes/Computer Help Needed

Ok heres the problem. I get a virus on my comp awhile back, so i have to System Recovery on my comp. Iv had viruses and done this system recovery to my comp many times. And every time i get it working after the system recovery my iTunes wont work, also meaning the iPod cant get hooked up and upload music, it gives me the whole "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. sorry for the inconvenience" crap.
Iv had this problem many times before, and it usually takes me awhile of just doing random **** for it to work, but lately iv had diff. **** going on so i couldnt work on it, but i tried earlier today to fix it.
I always remembered downloading a new iTunes from Apple.com, and after doing some **** installing that and it working, just having to update/install the iPod.
Thing is i cant remember all i did to get the new iTunes to install. Right now i have tried deleting all the "corrupt" iTunes files & stuff, and installing the new iTunes, but no luck, still not working.
If anybody can help it would be great, if u need to ask me a question about it, hit me on a PM.
    thanks alot for any help.

For your itunes folder 'You' are the owner.
It should read: 'Owner: YourLoginname'. If it's not, click on the little padlock symbol and change it to the name you use to log in.
You normaly don't have to change ownership at 'Group' (which at my computer says 'staff') and 'Others', but you can change it to 'Read & Write'.
Below 'Others' (just above the 'Comments:' pane) there should be a button 'Apply to enclosed items...'

  • IPOD battery .. help  needed

    i bought one 30gb ipod a month back .. ( may 26)
my IPOD battery gets charged within 2 hours !! ( the battery symbol show a "Charged" sign ) ...
also i think i am not getting the right battery life out of my ipod ( i am expecting atleast 10 hrs play .. is that ok???) ... basically my ipod drains off after around 5 - 6 hours of play ....
any suggestion on this .. is welcome

Apple used the best battery technology that was
available and for the price. I have yet to just sit
and listen to my IPOD for 13 hours straight, 6 hours
maybe but not what the battery is rated at in terms
of hours. How the songs are encoded also affect how
long the battery lasts. No two batteries are going to
    give exactly the same results.
    A lithium-ion battery provides 300-500
discharge/charge cycles. The battery prefers a
partial rather than a full discharge. Frequent full
discharges should be avoided when possible. Instead,
charge the battery more often. There is no concern of
    memory when applying unscheduled charges.
Although lithium-ion is memory-free in terms of
performance deterioration, batteries with fuel gauges
exhibit what engineers refer to as "digital memory".
Here is the reason: Short discharges with subsequent
recharges do not provide the periodic calibration
needed to synchronize the fuel gauge with the
    battery's state-of-charge. A deliberate full
discharge and recharge every 30 charges corrects this
problem. Letting the battery run down to the cut-off
point in the IPOD will do this. If ignored, the fuel
gauge will become increasingly less accurate.
    Simple Guidelines:
Avoid frequent full discharges because this puts
additional strain on the battery. Several partial
discharges with frequent recharges are better for
lithium-ion than one deep one. Recharging a partially
charged lithium-ion does not cause harm because there
is no memory. (In this respect, lithium-ion differs
    from nickel-based batteries.)

  • IPod Lost/Stolen: Help Needed!!

    Hey everybody
my iPod Touch was lost or stolen yesterday and i need to know if i buy a new one can i transfer everything I've purchased from the app store on to it. If so can anyone tell me how... I can't seem to find any help any where.
lastly what security measures should i take? So far I've changed my email password to stop whoever has it from accessing my emails, what else should i do?
any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

i need to know if i buy a new one can i transfer everything I've purchased from the app store on to it.
    Yes.
If so can anyone tell me how... I can't seem to find any help any where.
You should be able to connect the new iPod to your system just like you did the first one and things should transfer as they did before.
lastly what security measures should i take? So far I've changed my email password to stop whoever has it from accessing my emails, what else should i do?
Change your iTunes Store password just as a precaution, particularly if you purchased anything directly from the iPod. If you accessed any of your accounts in any financial institution (bank, credit card company, etc.) from your iPod, I'd suggest changing those passwords as well. It's unlikely the passwords could be recovered from the iPod, but better safe than sorry.
    Regards.

  • Nothing but a dead/sick iPod... help needed!

My beloved color iPod just froze up today when I tried to select a song and then went black. It then displayed the "boot up screen" of the iPod, and then displayed the "sick iPod" icon, with the frowning, dead/sick-looking iPod. So I went to the support for iPods and tried everything: charging it, plugging it into my computer, rebooting it and trying to get it to disk mode - everything. Still nothing. My computer doesn't read the iPod and the iPod doesn't get a charge if I plug it into the wall or the computer. It just sits there with a blank screen. When I do reboot it, all I get is that dang dead/sick iPod icon. Any suggestions (other than going in and getting a new iPod)?

    Hi Paul
Don't go for a new iPod (yet). Is sounds like the IPod software on the HD is corrupted.
I had similar problems with my iPod a week ago (had to format the HD, writing 0’s on all bits – it took all night with 20 GB HD, USB cable and an iBook G3).
I recommend an iPod update or a format of the HD with writing 0’s (which requires an update afterwards to reinstall the iPod software to the HD). If you have all night then go for the format
Both the iPod update and the disk utility is found at: Applications > utilities.
Please write back if you need more help or suggestions.

  • 60G IPod Photo Deleting Help Needed

I have deleted all but 4 pics from my IPhoto and want to delete ALL of them from my IPod. I've looked everywhere for help on deleting pics from my IPod but can't find anything anywhere. Someone?

    Lipstick,
Do you want to format the iPod? you can do so with disk utility (Apllications>Utilities>Disk Utility). Otherwise, I would use an iPod updater and do a restore which is almost a format.
    hope this helps.

  • Music fails to copy to iPod Video - Urgent help needed!

Recently i done a stupid thing with my iPod, i done a defrag on it using windows utility. Though i have done it before, no problems. I have though just been told that its a bad thing to do.
After that, itunes did not recognise my ipod (iPod Video), i then restored it using V1.11 firmware, then went onto iTunes to upload all my music, it goes so far (say the first 300 out of 4550 or a number below 300) then stays on random track, then the iPod disconnects. Since then i have used previous versions of the firmware (1.0, 1.1), still does the same thing.
Can anyone help, cause i now live in spain (europe), since moved from scotland. It would be a pain to send it back if its not bust.
Oh yea, my music is all stored on a external western digital HD, connection is a 2.0 USB. Had it for 6 months or so and had no problems with it so far.

Generation 1 vs generation 2 has zero impact on using Enhanced Session Mode to copy files in and out.
Under the hood, Enhanced Session Mode uses RDP.  So, the RDP stars must align for the file copy to work.  This can be impacted by group policy, improper RDP settings, the VM not being Windows 8.1 or Server 2012 R2 or higher.

i removed that VM & created new one, since there was no solution to that. maybe a bug.

  • Mixed the iPhone & iPod cables up - help needed

I've been charging up my phone via the computer, and I now find I've mixed the USB cables from iPhone & iPod. Visually, there are slight differences between the two:
cable 1: connector end is slightly larger, and the USB end has both Apple & USB logos
cable 2: connector end is smaller, and USB end only has USB logo
Which cable is the one that came with the iPhone?
Functionally, are they the same - so I can safely use either one to charge up the iPhone.
    Thx!

The last difference, the iphone cable does not have a locking dock connctor & will not have the small releases on the sides like the ipod cable will.

  • What could possibly be wrong with this Ipod? Major help needed

I got my girlfriend a Nano for christmas, the 2gb, she bought a case, said she never did anything wrong with it. I let her install the Itunes and such by herself on her computer and magically the next day the **** Ipod is almost completely dead.
It's been a week and I've just now got time to work on it, but when I first heard something was wrong with it whenever we plugged the Ipod in it would show the Apple logo and then a battery with the lightning symbol to it's left. I read I should let the battery drain, then charge it, did that, I am trying to reinstall Itunes on my ocmputer but doesn't even seem to see the **** Ipod.
The Ipod doesn't even turn on and is making a pretty bad buzzing noise, absolutely nothing happens, computer doesn't see it, it doesn't turn on, it's just overall broke and I don't want to send it back to apple and pay the full retail price to get it fixed.

Same thing happened with a friend of mines Nano. The unit is defective. Check your warranty. Hopefully she registered it so that you qualify to have it replaced. Bummer!

  • HT201210 ive tried all of this many times now and it went through a restore once but my iPod still said i needed to hook up to iTunes (you know the screen showing a power cord and the iTunes icon) ive tried and tried but still can't get it PLEASE HELP ASA

I've have done all of the tips Apple has suggested and have tried many times to restore it but it still won't work.  IThe first time it went through the whole process and it seemed like it worked but it still showed the Screen that has a iPod power cord that has an arrow pointing to the iTunes thumbnail.  And now i thought well maybe it is restored i just need to sync it to Itunes but no my computer said that i encountered a problem my iPod and that i need to restore it so I tried.  And at the end of the first step, the Verifying Software step, it said that the device "iPod" could not be found, so Itried it again and again but it still came up with the same results so I'm screwed so if you can could you please help me i really need after a disabled iPod for about 2 to 3 months now.  So if you could please help i would appreciate it alot. THANK YOU.

  • IPod Help needed from serious Apple gurus - iPod Touch 2g 16g stuck in restart loop. Will NOT enter DFU or recovery mode, NOT recognized by iTunes on Windows or Mac

Ok, so here's the not so sad story. I bought an iPod Touch 2g 16g through Ebay - so forget warranties. Luckily I did not pay much. The description said it was stuck on the apple logo, so I figured it would be an easy put into recovery mode and restore problem.
    Not so much.
If you plug the iPod in and charge up the battery the LCD will come to life after a while with the apple logo, then it displays the spinning wheel with the apple logo over it. That will last anywhere from 10 - 15 minutes, then the iPod will go blank for a few secs and then start up the cycle all over again.
As stated, this iPod will NOT enter either DFU or recovery mode and believe me I've tried it several times several different ways with different timings, connected via USB to a Mac, connected to a different Mac running Windows, and connected to just the charger. Nothing. Occasionally the screen might go blank while holding the power and home buttons but nothing else happens and then it starts it's usual cycle again.
Again, iPod NOT recognized by iTunes on either Mac or Windows side. Since I got off Ebay and seller didn't know much about it, I have no idea if someone tried to jailbreak this or not.
I will not put much money into this machine. So I guess my question is: does this behavior mean that the motherboard is clearly fried? Are there any software programs that might diagnose what the problem is? Could it be as simple as a fried battery?
And most importantly, is this iPod simply toast or is there anything anyone can suggest????
Really any suggestions would be greatly greatly appreciated. Seems a shame to just trash an iPod touch that might need a simple fix...
If it helps matters, I can tinker with iPods somewhat and have torn down and replaced several iPod touch 1g and 2g glass and digitizers with no problems. I'm somewhat software savvy but the whole jailbreak thing is new territory... and I can't really figure out the command in Windows or Mac terminals to list all connected devices so I have no idea if the computer even knows the iPod is there, even if iTunes doesn't. Guess that's it... ummm, please help???

Nothing huh? No one's had this problem or this isn't fixable... oh well... if anybody comes up with anything I'll check in occasionally...

  • Ipod Touch: My Issues, help needed as fast as possible

Well recently i got an Ipod Touch 2nd Generation for christmas, and i must say i love it. But i have got some serious problems. 1) all applications that were not standard on the itouch crash unexpectedly and the only way to rectify this issue is to download something from the app store and they work again :S. Yes that is as bizarre as it sounds. Sometimes it will work fine and i can use any of my apps whenever i like. But frequently(more frequently as time goes on) the applications dont open, i touch them they open the background for the app and they take me back to the main screen. I have tried the following: reseting the iPod, restoring it to factory settings, uninstalling apps and then re-installing and this issue is resolute. I also happen to know that some other 2nd Generation Touch owners at my school have the very same issue. I have seen some threads dotted about explaining their issues that are similar to this, meaning its fairly widespread.
My second issue is really bugging me, i opened the itunes store for the first time on my iPod(i never get any of my music from itunes normally i detest the application.) and all of a sudden it downloaded a podcast without me telling it to. It was called Podhead: The DoorWhores Off to vegas. This is something i really do not wish to have on my iPod. So i synced it to my windows OS and tried to re-sync the iPod's podcasts with my library so that it would dissappear. But it didn't, i then tried setting it to manually putting files on my ipod and alas it doesnt show up in the podcasts sub section of the device. I tried playing the podcast and it takes me to the home screen of my ipod with the Play triangle flickering constantly in the top right of my ipod. I don't know what is going on with that but i havnt restored it to factory settings after this issue, mainly because my iPod refuses to accept that i own all of the apps i have backed up and i have no desire to manually re-download them to my ipod.
    3) That last scentence brings me nicely onto my final problem which is this: my computer tells me that i do not have the authority to put onto my ipod. Despite all of them being free and despite all of them having being backed up from my ipod.
Any help with these issues would be much appreciated. I am in desperate need of assistance before i come to the end of my tether and resign myself to a long trip to the nearest apple store. thanks in advance

Did you try to restore your iPod to factory settings and add your apps one by one to find out which app causes the crash? Try not to restore from a backup it may contain the corrupt parts you don't want to install again.
