Ipod battery change now won't recognize

I changed my battery in my Ipod Nano 3rd gen. It still won't turn on, but iTunes now says "The iPod software update server coult not be contacted. the server does not support this version of iTunes"
I tried 2 different pcs now and still same message.
And ideas?????

The error message is likely a result of the Nano not being able to store enough juice to fully and properly boot up.  Even if the battery wasn't working properly or shot, it would still be able to power up enough to apper in iTunes.

  • IPod full but now won't recognize any files; how to fix without "restore"?

My iPod mini suddenly won't recognize any of my files or extensive playlists. I just uploaded several songs to it, and when I disconnected and tried to play it, it suddenly showed as completely empty, like I'd deleted everything. I plugged it back in, and while nothing shows up in iTunes with - no songs, no playlists - it says it's still nearly full.
Reading another thread, I found the files on the iPod through My Computer. So they are still there, but for whatever reason the iPod, literally suddenly, can't recognize them as present. How do I fic this WITHOUT having to restore the iPod and then re-add those files (and recreate all of my playlists?)
    Please, please help!

Do not setup a TC over wireless.. it is like sitting on the branch you are sawing off.
Plug it into the computer by ethernet.. press and hold the reset until the front LED flashes rapidly and start over.

  • My IPhone 5S ran out of battery and now won't unlock

    Hey guys
My Iphone 5S ran out of battery and now it won't accept my fingerprint or my password when I try to unlock it. If any one has any idea how to sort it would be much appreciated.
    Cheers

Thanks Eric, but it's not a power issue. Tried different chargers and usb cables in a wall outlet and computer etc. It doesn't seem to recognize that it is in fact plugged to a power source. I get the low battery icon w/ the plug + bolt icon as if it needs to be plugged in but it already is...
    iTunes doesn't see it either..

  • OS X 10.6.8 was playing DVD now won't recognize store bought discs.  Normal Discs no HD and the same discs work on imac.  Any thoughts?  Is there a patch or a way to reload possibly or a system utility that I can run?  Thanks anyone

I don't know what changed but it just won't recognize a disc any more.  The DVD player itself seems to open up, but the disc just spins in the case and after 20 seconds it spit it back out like nothing ever happened.  The same disc plays fine on the imac.

  • Where can i get my ipod battery changed

where can i get my ipod battery changed

Apple does not replace batteries.  Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished 4 gen iPod with a new battery for $79 (free if it is still under warranty). Or google for replace iPod battery to find a local store or online shop that will replace the battery in your existing iPod for less. You can even buy a battery on line for $10-20 and do the replacement yourself if you are up to it.

  • New battery, now won't recognize ipod on computer...

so i've got this 4th gen. ipod (30gig) and i replaced that battery myself.
    everything went well.
it works, it plays, it WAS connecting to computer (via it's firewire cable).
but, all of a sudden, it stopped connecting to ANY computer.
it charges when plugged into a firewire outlet (i get the charging battery icon on the ipod), but no computer will recognize it to transfer music...
it plays with headphones. it plays in a bose dock, but no computers.
i went thru the '5 steps', resored, reset, everything.
    any ideas?
    thanks for any help.

Well I finally fixed my problem, I dropped itunes and have started using MediaMonkey http://www.mediamonkey.com/ which comes with ipod support that actually works(unlike my itunes).

  • IPod very low on battery and now won't turn on when plugged into PC

I haven't used my iPod for a few weeks, so now the battery is obviously completely empty. The problem is that it won't turn on when I plug it into my PC to charge, even after half an hour or longer. Is there something I can do, or do I need to get a completely new battery put in?

If you are unable to give specifics about the problem or what you need to do, it's going to be rather hard to give you recommendations or alternate suggestions.
As I said, if I recall correctly, the iPod will stay on if it's being charged. But, in case I'm misremembering, are you holding down the button until you see the red arrow that says "Slide to power off"? Have you tried restoring it?

  • My current laptop is about 3 years old. Got a virus and had to wipe it clean. Now my IPod touch 2nd generation won't recognize this computer as the one it was originally assigned to.  what do I need to do to safeguard my tunes on the Ipod touch.

My current laptop is about three years old and got a virus.  Had to wipe it clean.  Now my Ipod Touch-2nd generation is not recognizing it as the primary original computer and says it is registered on another computer.  What can I do to safeguard my library of songs on the Ipodtouch.  Any suggestions?

Syncing to a new iTunes library or computer will erase your iPod. Only if you back up your iPod manually before syncing, you can restore your device from that backup again. A manual backup does not include the sync process.
    Do this:
Disable autosync in iTunes, connect your iPod to your new computer and right click on it in the device list and choose backup. iTunes will backup your ipod without syncing.
Transfer your purchases the same way, choosing "transfer purchases" this time.
When you connect your device for the first time, all media content will be erased. But you can restore your settings and app data from your manual backup afterwards.
Don't forget to set up at least one contact and event on your new computer to be able to merge calendars and contacts when you sync the iPod for the first time.
Music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in itunes and transferred your purchases.
There is 3rd party software out there, but not supported by Apple, see this thread:http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2013615&tstart=0
