IPod Beeps When Charging

My ipod touch started beeping tonight while it was charging in the iHome dock, and I was just wondering if the beeping sound is normal, and also does it stop when the ipod is charged?

The iPod beeps when:
-It connects to ANY dock.
-It is disconnected from ANY dock.
-It is alerting you of a timer/appointment/alarm.
Beeping for any other reason (without you doing it), is bad.

  • Why does iPhone beep when charging

My iPhone continues to beep when charging....can anyone tell me how to stop the beeping

When you say "beep" you mean the sound it makes right after you plug it in? If so, you might have a faulty cable or USB port, so your iPhone will beep everytime it gets disconnected and reconnected to the computer. If it's not that, try to describe the sound. Is it similar to what other sounds on iPhone system?

  • My iPod keeps beeping when charging (iOS7)

I just got iOS7 and whenever i plug my iPod touch in, it keeps beeping over and over. It also pops up with the notification "This cable or accessory is not certified and may not work reliably". This is a new cable and it was made by apple. Any help would be great

Sounds like there is a problem with the cable.
Do you have another cable you can try to confirm this?
You may need to make an appointment with your local Apple store to have them replace if it is isn't working.

  • Can't access IPod Classic when charging

    Hi All...
I have 30GB Ipod classic. When I plug it into the computr to charge (USB), I see a flashing red circle with line thru it in the middle fo the screen with message Do Not Disconnect.
While it is charging I cannot clear this fromthe screen and listen to the stuff on the Ipod. Is there something wrong or is this by (very very very bad) design?
How can I listen to the Ipod while it is charging?
I tried to eject the device from systray icon, but when I do that, it stops charging?
    Help please.
    Thanks in advance.

This is because the iPod is being synced to the computer, which means that it is being updated and the information on it is being changed. While that is happening you cannot do anything with the iPod. Once it has finished syncing, (when the message *iPod sync is complete - OK to disconnect* displays in the top of the iTunes window) you can click on the *Eject iPod* button which you will find in the bottom right hand of the *iTunes summary screen* (not the systray icon) and which will "disconnect it" from iTunes but allow it to continue charging. You can then listen to it while it is still plugged in and charging.

No, nothing wrong with it or the design. It is syncing as well as charging. If you try to "use" the iPod while it's being updated that would confuse it!
I tried to eject the device from systray icon, but when I do that, it stops charging?
That is not the correct (or best) method of disconnecting the iPod. As I stated above, you should use the *Eject iPod* iPod button.
By the way, there is no such model as a 30GB Classic, perhaps yours is a 5th generation or photo iPod? See http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61688 for information on identifying your iPod model.

  • IPod 'Connected' when charging from Airport Express?

I want to use my iPod classic to play my music in my living room.
I have a universal dock, with a cable that goes into my stereo and also into a usb that I've connected to my Airport Express for charging.
This set up works perfectly for my iPhone and iPod Touch as I can play music while charging.
Trouble is, when I plug in the iPod Classic, I get 'Connected - Eject to disconnect' and I can't play any music.
How do I switch this off? I think from these forums its called Target Disk mode or something?
    Many thanks
    Dan.

    I should have been clearer.
I have a Apple Universal dock, which in turn is plugged into the USB of my AX to charge, and also my AV Amp to play music and videos.
This set up has worked fine on both my iPhone and my iPod Touch. I can play music and charge the device simultaneously.
All I want to do is use my iPod Classic instead, but I can't as the moment I sit it in the universal dock it says 'Connected - Eject to disconnect'.

  • 5c screen and beeping when charging

the top half of my screen lifted off my 5c, but the bottom half is still completely connected, it did work for a few hours, but not the screen, I could pick up the phone by the earphones, but the screen was completely black, then when I got home I tried to restart it (home button and lock button pushed down together) but since then it wont turn on, then I plugged it in to charge it, it beeped/blooped every 5 seconds
I tried to back up my photos but my computer said that my phone was full but there was no phtos on it (I have 6000+ photos on my phone that I really don't want to lose) it is still making that blooping sound.
    what Is wrong with it?

Sounds like a hardware issue - if it only the screen - taking to an Apple store or authorized repair center may allow the screen to be repaired without having to erase the phone - but that is a hope not a guarantee

  • IPhone 5 not syncing properly; also, keeps beeping when charging

    Hi everyone,
got the new iphone 5. Set it up, and it seemed to be working fine, however...
PROBLEM 1: Now, when i plug it into itunes, it starts to sync, and then after about a minute and a half, it gets interrupted and the sync starts all over again.
Is anyone else having this issue?
    In addition,
PROBLEM 2: when i'm charging my iphone 5, about every two minutes it starts to make a "syncing" noise (the noise that the phone makes when you plug it into charge).
Is anyone else having these issues??
About to call apple, or go into the apple store because this is not right!

I would try another lightning cable.  If the cable doesn't fix it, there is an issue with the port on the phone.

  • I Phone c beeping when charging

Brand new I Phone C and went to plug in to charge phone and its beeping and not charging??

It sounds as if the cable is not making a good connection. Check to make sure there is no debris in the charging port and that the end of the cable is not damaged. Make sure that whatever it's connected to on the other end has a solid connection. Try another cable if possible.

  • Is there a way to view how much charging time is left when charging iPod?

Is there a way to view how much charging time is left when charging our iPods (without having to disconnect and play a song to see the little battery icon)? The iBooks tell us the percentage and approximate time left to full charge. This would be a great feature for iPods as well, right? How can we suggest such a feature to the Mac techs for the next update?
    5th Generation iPod, iBook G4   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

determining an ipods estimated remaining battery life is difficult because it doesnt know how long the backlight will stay on, how many times you change a songs, etc.
those are all variables that change the amount of battery

  • Why is my 4th generation ipod touch not charge? I plug it into the computer and the wall and with 2 different usb cables and its not charging. When its plugged in it shows the icon for charging but the battery never increases and it dies once i disconnect

I have a 4th generation Ipod Touch. It has been working for months when yesterday the battery started acting werid. I was driving and it was connected with the usb charger cable to my car stereo when all the sudden my music stopped and the stereo could not recognize my ipod at all. When I got back home, I tried to charge it so it wouldnt die but even while on the charger in the wall the battery continued to die. I charged it over night (the first time I have ever charged it over night) desperately to have battery for a 4 o clock plane flight so I would have entertianment. The ipod died over night while on the charger. When I unplugged it from the usb charging cable I noticed that the icon telling me the ipod needed to be charged came up. So I plugged it back in. The charging thunder bolt symbol popped up next to the very small red strip on the left side of the battery indicating that the ipod had no charge to turn its self on. I tried plugging it in on the computer, the wall ac charger and a stereo system made just for the ipod that also pluggs into the wall. I have used 2 different cables, the result being the same that the ipod held no charge, and it wouldnt charge at all while on the charger, and it would imediately die once i take it off the charger.
I have not idea what has happened ....
    Please help
    THanks!

    - While charging try resetting the iPod:
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Next try restoring the iPod via iTunes.  First from backup and if still problem restore to factory defaults/new iPod.
    - However, I really think that the iPod has a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.  If defective Apple should give you a refurbished iPod.

  • My iPod 4th-gen charges just fine in any wall outlet, but when connected to my brand new ASUS Windows-8 laptop's USB 3.0 port the charging process just keeps "blinking" on both the iPod and the laptop and will not connect to Itunes...

Hi, I HATE to ask for help with this, but I HAVE looked everywhere and Google searched different wordings and have not found anything similar nor a solution to my problem!                                                                                                                                                                                                                               My good old iPod 4th-gen charges just fine in any wall outlet, in any house, but when I connect it to my brand new ASUS laptop that has Windows-8 and 3.0 USB ports using the charging/data cable, the charging process just keeps "blinking" BOTH the iPod and the laptop and it will not connect to ITunes and I get "A Device is Detected" message that keeps popping up and going away over and over right above the Windows desktop toolbar.                                                               When I go to control panel and select "Devices" it does show the iPod, but for only a split second and than it disappears, but than it comes back again for a split second and than it disappears again and just keeps doing that over and over and over!                                                                                                                  I have tried resetting the iPod while it is plugged into the laptop by holding the power and menu buttons, that did no good.                                                             I also tried uninstalling iTunes and any other Apple stuff listed and reinstalling it all, that did NOT work!                                                                                          The iPod, the laptop and iTunes ARE all fully updated!                                                                                                                                                                I AM using a brand new charging/data cable that I just opened up an hour ago (I've learned to keep a few brand new ones around at all times since these piece of garbage rip-off cables hardly last a week, even when you baby them!). I also tried a few old cables, they all do the same thing!                                                       I would like to get this piece of junk to connect to my new laptop, even if only once, so that I can change/delete some songs and transfer a few dozen photos, since I haven't been able to do any of that stuff since my old laptop (that NEVER had any problems connecting) died way back in May! lol.                                                                                                                                                                                                 I hope somebody knows a fix or solution! Thank You!

Is it not charging at all? Did you try to reset? If YES to both, request for a replacement of the ipod. Battery or the unit itself is defective. Cheers!

    Not Charge
    - See:
    iPod touch: Hardware troubleshooting
    - Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use.
    - Try another charging source
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
