IPod, but what of MP3 Players (not Apple hardware)

I don't have an iPod. I was assuming that iTunes allows you to download MP3 to play on non-iPods. But the file format is M4P. When I tried to convert it to MP3 it told me I could not.
So is iTunes not a source of music for my MP3 Player? I have a SanDisk.

I think the issue is that iTunes (for whatever reason) thinks I have two Apple ID's.
also, to further complicate the issue, when i try updating the apps from my iPod the iTunes store is still recognizing my old hotmail Apple ID. So when I go to enter my password it won't accept because it doesn't match with the old Apple ID, even though it is the same account (just new Apple ID name).
I have tried signing out within the App Store and re-signing in with my Apple ID but it still brings up my old Apple ID name when I try to update.

hi, i was wondering if you can use creative mp3 players with apple mac computers? i tried using the installation disc with my powerbook but it didnt autorun and i couldn't find a way of starting it up.

Try turning off the keyboard for a minute then turn it back on.
If that doesn't help, remove the keyboard from System Preferences > Bluetooth
Then re "pair" the keyboard to your Mac.

Thanks - Even though I'm years out of warranty I got chat help from Apple (I said they should help me since the codes aren't published.) We covered three different questions, and although I didn't get a specific decoding of the error code, I got confirmation of what other comments here imply - it might have helped that I indicated I'd already been here - and useful links to how to do back ups, including to CD(s). (I don't have a lot of data on this computer yet)
Now I need to figure out how to decide how hot-to-the-touch is "too hot" for the metal frame at the top of the iMac to decide whether I'm getting adequate fan performance or insufficient. While chatting I initially reported it was cool at the bottom and warm at the top. Apple hadn't asked, but their response prompted me to feel it again, and I'd say the top was hot, not warm - I updated but Apple didn't comment further except to conclude after addressing the other questions that I should take it in for further assessment - don't really want to bother with that.

My problem is that i have 21go of the section "others" on my iPod 5. - On your computer go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices and see if a backup is listed.
- For iCloud backup. , with the iPod setup with the same iCloud account go to Settings>iCloud>Storage and Backup>Manage Storage and see if one is listed.

You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option at the bottom of the screen of the iTunes app (or video app) on your iOS device.

Windows not recognizing ipod at all, but recognises other MP3 players.

I just bought a ipod nano red 4 GB from a friend. I looked at the settings on the ipod and it is set to windows. When I connect the ipod to windows with an apple power cord I get "USB Device Not Recognized. One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and windows does not recognize it. For assistance in solving this problem, click this message." But when it is connected it charges. so i don't know how it can be malfunctioning. this happened on two computers.

Since the iPod seems to be recognised on other comps then it does sould as if the problem is with the comp rather than the iPod itself.
Make sure the iPod is fully charged before you start.
Try creating a new user account on the comp which won't recognise the iPod and use that account.
Go through the apple 5R's, be sure to uninstall iTunes and the iPod software with the iPod disconnected from the comp and when you reinstall do so with the iPod disconnected and only connect the iPod when the software prompts you to do so or after the install has completed. You might like to reboot the PC after you've uninstalled the iTunes and iPod software and reboot again after you've completed the reinstall. Follow apple's instructions to the letter.
If you still don't get it to work you will need to consider reinstalling XP and starting over with a clean install.

Apple is shipping me a box for my phone because I filled out a service thing on the Apple website for my recently shattered phone screen. When they send me a box to wrap my phone up in and send them it, what if I decide I don't want too? Like if I found a cheaper way of fixing my phone after I filled out the service support.

If it's asking you to pay, they won't send a box until you pay. If you were to get a box anyway and did not pay anything, then just discard the box or save it for wrapping presents during the holidays. Apple will auto cancel the order after a period of time. You are not obligated to complete and service unless you paid for it, then it requires action to get the refund

Apple is replacing my iPod Touch, What if I am not there when FedEx delivers my package?

New computer only syncs itunes music from ipod but i have other songs not purchased from itunes that does not show up in new computer

i used to have 900+ songs stored on my HP laptop, which i can no longer use and bought new toshiba laptop. when i tried to synce 900 songs from iPOD to the toshiba it only gave me 330 songs and not the entire library stored on the iPOD. have tried sync from iCLOUD as well as importing & exporting songs as shown in the drop down menu from iTUNES, but unable to do the sync process successfully!? do i have to manually reload every song i have already burned to CD onto new toshiba? am i or did i already do something wrong to prevent what should have been an easy sync?? am retired and techno-challenged. really need clear to follow instructions. any help will be more than greatly appreciated...

You can only sync with one computer/iTunes library. To make the new computer the syncing computer:

I want to restore my iPod, but what about my music?

I don't sync my music directly from iTunes, I pick and choose specifically what I want in my iPod. Also, some songs on my iPod have album art/lyrics where the ones in my computer don't. Is it possible to back up the iPod songs somehow so I can easily put them back without a hassle and mess? Thanks.

So are all the songs that are on the iPod also in your iTunes library? You implied that they were and you just manually added them to the iPod from iTunes, is that right?
If you don't need to connect the iPod to two or more different iTunes libraries and do not have a need to have stuff on the iPod that isn't in your iTunes library, you will find it much easier to create a playlist to manage which songs go on the iPod. That way for situations like this, you can always restore then resync the playlist. But you can still manually add or subtract things from the playlist like you do on the iPod.
As to the artwork, again, better to add artwork to the tracks in iTunes then add those tracks to the iPod. If you add artwork directly to the iPod then you end up in the situation you are in now.
There are third party apps to get stuff off the iPod and into iTunes. I have no first hand experience and I am not sure if these are mainly all or nothing tranfers or if they will let you selectively pick stuff off the iPod to go back to iTunes.
