Ipod camera connector with CANON 350D

Hi everybody!
I'm trying to connect camera connector with my photocamera but ipod continuosly tell me: "format non supported". I have set my 350D in PTP mode, as apple recommended in the compatibility list, but nothing changes.
What can I do?
tnx!
Manu

You should consider to buy a canon 20 D. it's a lot better then the 350D i you would not have those kind of problems!
just kidding!
wasn't suppose to work with the cf card you plug directly in your ipod? i would be much faster?

  • IPod Video and camera connector with Canon PowerShot Pro1

Does anybody have a new iPod video with a camera connector and a Canon PowerShot Pro1? I'm having trouble downloading images to my iPod?
Every time I connect the camera to my iPod, I get the message on the iPod screen that says "no card inserted".
I've tried 3 different memory cards in my camera with the same results.
    HELP?

Don't know about the Pro 1. My Canon XT works fine. In the menu for the XT, I have COMMUNICATION: My choices are A)Print/PCP and 2)PC Connection. Print/PCP must be selected for it to work on mine. Check the menu of your Pro 1.

  • IPod Camera Connector and Canon Powershot Pro1 - No card inserted

Good evening everyone - I'm hoping that somebody can help me out.
I received a 5G - iPod Video 60 GB for Christmas. I had hoped to use it as a digital camera storage solution as I am an avid amateur photographer.
I quickly ran out to the Apple store and purchased a camera connector, as the Canon Pro1 was on the list of approved hardware.
Every time I connect the two devices, I get a message on the iPod screen saying "connecting..." for about 5 seconds, and then the message on the screen changes to "no card inserted".
I have been doing some reading on this forum, and have taken the advise of many and have updated my iPod to version 1.1, and am still having no luck.
I am using the cable that came with the camera. When I plug the camera into the iPod, it turns the camera on, as if I were connecting it to my computer - so it is sensing that it is connected to something - but that's it - noting else happens.
I am quite frustrated. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. I would greatly appreciate any feedback anyone can share with me.
    Thank you in advance!
    Regards,
    Jason

  • Ipod video (5G) with canon 350d (rebel xt)

    Hi All
I've done a bit of a search to find out how well the apple camera connector works with a 350d but I couldn't find much on transfer speeds... Can anyone give a rough idea how long it takes to transfer 512mb or 1gb?
Also once the photos are saved on the ipod, can you view images/slideshow on screen (possibly a dumb q, but I've read a few conflicting things - I might be confused between 4G & 5G ipods there?!...)?
    Thanks!
    B.

i've read a couple different reviews about it, and the consensus seems to be that the transfer speeds are only usb 1.1, even if you have a usb 2.0 camera. there was one person that said it went very fast, so i wonder if it goes usb 2.0 speeds with the 5g ipods but not the 4g. yes, you can view your pictures on the screen after you transfer them.

  • TS2634 Can I use my old ipod camera connector with ipad [3]? I keep getting accessory not supported message

I have tried to use my old camera connector and it doesn't work. many posts indicate the new ones don't work either.  Anyone know if the USB camera connector would or should work with my ipad and my rebel T2i camera?  Would buying a new connector work?
    Thanks.

What do you mean by "old camera connector"? Do you mean the one that was put out years ago for the iPod? No, that doesn't work. The current Camera Connection Kit works just fine.

  • Anybody used iPod camera connector with Fuji finepix S9500?

    Hi there,
Like many of you I've looked at the compatability list on the Apple site and my Finepix S9500 is not there. Has anybody been successful downloading pictures either from the camera via camera connector, or using a media reader connected to iPod and XD memory card?

OK, I've been to the Applestore and bought one of these gizmos and wouldn't you know it, but it worked first time. Great little piece of kit!

  • Why I can not use IPod camera-connector with IPod touch ?

    please help !

Because Apple didn't make the hardware compatible. No one here is going to have any other answers. I would point out that there are apparently differences in the docking port, either hardware or software. Older third party docks, as an example, don't work properly or at all with the newer iPods. I suspect it's related to authentication/DRM issues for movie rentals. This could be related but we'll probably never know.
    +But why????????+
    Because Steve said so!

  • Canon EOS 300d with iPod Camera Connector

    Hey folks,
I don't have a problem with this combination but just want to say, that it's working perfectly together! I've searched for a thread like this before but didn't found any, so I took my currage and bought the Camera Connector without being sure it will work with my Canon EOS 300d. Today I tested it and it works perfect from the first moment. Just plug into the iPod and the camera and it prompts directly the import screen on the iPod. Importing itself also works good, but due to the USB 1.1 port on the camera it's a little slow. There are time measurements on other threads dealing with the connector, but for me the time is secondary, aslong as I don't have to carry my PowerBook around to get the fotos from my camera. BTW: That's not faster!
So for all of you out there using a Canon EOS 300d don't hesitate to get the Camera Connector - with the latest firm- and software on your devices there should be no problem!

Is it possible to connect a Canon EOS 300D via iPod
camera connector to a 5th generation iPod?
The EOS 300D isn't listed in the compatibility list,
but i'm sure the camera supports the protocols.
    Any experiences?
    Thanks, Krycek
/edit: I recognized the thread before, but I like ro
    hear more experiences.
i, use it and works but is very slow....

  • I pod doesnt' work with the camera connector and Canon EOS 20D!

    iPod Camera Connector: Supported Devices
The iPod Camera Connector requires a Fifth Generation iPod, iPod photo (also known as iPod with color display) and a supported camera or media reader. Other iPods, including iPod mini, iPod nano, iPod (Click Wheel), and iPod shuffle, are not supported with the iPod Camera Connector.
The iPod Camera Connector supports cameras with USB connectivity based on the following commonly used protocols:
    PTP
    Type 4 (or Normal)
    Mass Storage
For the complete list of supported cameras and media readers, see this webpage.
If you're using Mac OS X 10.3.x, you can use Image Capture to quickly verify what protocol your camera supports. To do this:
    Connect your camera.
    Open Image Capture.
Click Options and then click Device Options.
You can also check your camera's owner manual or the vendor's website to find out what protocols your camera supports. Also see "iPod Camera Connector: Choosing a photo importing protocol on a camera" for additional information.

  • Using IPOD 5g and camera connector with Nikon D70 raw

    Hi,
I take pictures in 'RAW and Basic' ie digital negative and JPG on a D70. On the Apple IPOD camera connector page there is a user comment referring to having found a posting giving a correct way of transferring RAW files to IPOD which works. Obviously I am not expecting to be able to see the raw pictures just the basic jpgs. But does anyone know the correct procedure for transferring RAW and emedded basic PG files over to IPOD and where they are stored on the IPOD so that I can recover them later?
    Dell Latitude D610   Windows XP

i have a minolta 7d and i used to take pics in raw+jpg figuring that it would save the raw and hopefully show the jpgs. no such luck. i talked to the apple gurus and no one seems to know how to make it look at the jpgs and not just the raw files.
i've played around with everything that i could figure out and to no avail. so now i just shoot in raw, tranfer to the ipod (via usb cord to the camera) and when i get home transfer them to the pc.
p.s. the jpgs are still moved over to the ipod and you can get them when you transfer them back to the puter you just can't view them while on the ipod. if you were to shoot just jpg then of course you would be able to see them.

  • Problem with ipod camera connector

i am trying to use the ipod camera connector. there are 3 recurring problems.
sometimes, the ipod says that there is no picture in the connected camera. in the apple support website, it says that i have to reconnect the camera connector but that does not help.
recently, altough all pictures are still on the ipod in the same files as before (i have checked by using the ipod as an external drive), the ipod said that all rolls were empty.
finally, when going on the "photos" part of the ipod, it sometimes does not even show the "import" menu and therefore does not allow viewing the existing pictures altough they are on the ipod.
    any help welcome

I have the same problem as you but after reading through all the posts I found this worked for me "Ipod reset (on hold, off of hold, press menu and centre buttons for 6 seconds) then after it has rebooted unplug then replug your camera connector (at this point it may well work but if you still get "Unsupported device" or no card inserted then power cycle your camera, a bit long winded but this is the only way I could get my Canon 20d to work!
