For some time now, when I connect my iPod to my PC, I'm told my iPod cannot be synced to iTunes because (the file cannot be found).  What gives?

Sounds like the file yo are trying to sync to the iPod is corrupted.
Try syncing only one item that plays in iTunes on the computer.
Also see the following since when you downgrade iTunes you have to reset your iTunes library since the older version can't read the updated version of the library.

  • IPod nano 1st generation cannot be recognize by iTunes 11.1.3 on macbook

i cannot get my itune recognize my ipod nano 1st generation.  And i can't sync it with ituen on my macbook.  Pls help

    Hello there, lycusfenriz.
It can definitely be frustrating when your having trouble with multiple devices at the same time, but the steps in the article below may help with getting your iPod recognized in iTunes. The following Knowledge Base article offers up some great, in-depth recommendations for troubleshooting an iPod not being recognized in iTunes:
iPod nano (7th generation): Hardware troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4433
    Connectivity/syncing
Follow these steps if your computer doesn't recognize your iPod or you have issues with syncing your iPod.
iPod not recognized by iTunes or computer
Make sure you have installed the latest iTunes software from www.itunes.com/downloads. Try connecting to a different USB port on your computer. Your computer needs a USB 2.0 port or a USB 3.0 port to connect iPod nano. If you have a Windows PC that doesn't have a USB 2.0 port, in some cases you can purchase and install a USB 2.0 card.
If iPod nano is connected to a USB hub, try connecting iPod nano directly to your computer's USB port.
iPod nano might need to be reset. Reset iPod by holding down the Sleep/Wake button and Home button until you see the Apple logo appear.
If you're connecting iPod nano to a portable computer using the Lightning Cable, connect the computer to a power outlet before connecting iPod nano.
Check the cable connections. Disconnect the cable at both ends and make sure no foreign objects are in the USB ports. Then reconnect the cable.
Try reinserting the Lightning connector into the iPod. The Lightning connector can be inserted either way.
    Try restarting your computer.
If none of these steps resolves the issue, you might need to restore the iPod nano software.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

  • IPod Cannot Be Read By ITunes

My Windows XP crashed yesterday. We restored the computer and Itunes and all of the music was still intact (thank god!) Anyway, I added some more songs then went to import them to my Ipod, but just when the Itunes is about to recognize the Ipod, I get a message saying that my IPod is improperly installed and cannot communicate with ITunes.
It then tells me to install ITunes and Ipod. I do that, but then it says a newer version of ITunes is already on this computer. I then restart it, and the same problem continues to persist. Do I need to uninstall/reinstall ITunes first? Any help would be great.

  • Ipod touch not recognize by itune

My ipod Touch is not recognize by itune, someone cant help me please?

Close iTunes and disconnect your ipod from the computer. Reopen iTunes first, then reconnect the iPod.
If this doesn't work., close iTunes and disconnect the iPod agian. Goto START/RUN and type "services.msc" (with no quotes). When it opens look for "SSDP DISCOVERY". Right click on it and choose Restart, this will also want to restart the UnPnp Host Device, click Yes. And then Open iTunes, and reconnect your iPod.
If that doesn't work, then uninstall and reinstall iTunes.
    I hope that helps!

  • My ipod cannot be recognized by itunes and it won't charge

I have a couple of problems with my 30g ipod. First of all it won't be recognized by my itunes( nothing is wrong with itunes at all). Second it has a sad icon. Third it has a charging icon but it is not animated and when i go and reset it, it just goes back to the sad icon. What should i do?

You can take it to an Apple store if that's more convenient. They have been known to exchange faulty iPods on the spot.
If you send it in, Apple usually aim for a one week turnaround, but it can be more (or less) depending on how busy they are.

Normally, I plug in my iPod, it says 'Do Not Disconnect", Windows picks it up with a positive connection tone, iTunes freezes for awhile, then iTunes picks it up. It updates, everyone's happy.
Now, I plug in my iPod, it says "Do Not Disconnect", Windows picks it up with a positive connection tone, iTunes freezes for awhile, but when it comes out of non-responce, iTunes still has not recognised the iPod.
I've had my iPod for 7 months, and this is the first time this has happened. I need help.

  • The Ipod cannot be synced you do not have enough access for this operation

My Ipod cannot be synced to itune "you do not have enough access for this operation"

thx much, it worked and i can now sync my ipod touch fine.
Maybe you can help me with another issue i'm having with itunes album D/L of Sgt. Peppers album purchase.  I got nowhere with iTunes support, but everytime i click on "check for available downloads" from the Store menu in itunes, i get the following error:

  • Ipod cannot connect with itunes

My iPod will not connect with iTunes, it doesn't even show up on iTunes. I know the cord is working because my ipod is charging, but I don't know what to do?
    Please help!

Sorry for being cut off. More info: iPod Touch was connected to Dell running Windows vista running most recent iTunes. Had a BSOD while attached. The Touch runs fine. Plays music, playlists, all apps, wifi, iTunes without a problem. Can download through iTunes OTA without a problem. When I attach the Touch to the computer, it recognizes that the Touch is attached (is in My Computer), but iTunes gives the message "iTunes cannot read the contents of the iPod <name>. Go to summary tab..." I see that this is a common error, but there is no solution I've found.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes with no success. It seems odd that the Touch works fine but cannot connect. I really don't want to wipe it clean.
Any suggestions will be most welcome.

  • My ipod does not recognize touch all of a sudden. It is on, but I cannot use it because it won't recognize my touch! Help please!

My ipod does not recognize touch all of a sudden. It is on, but I cannot use it because it won't recognize my touch! Help please!

-You stated: " It is on, but I cannot use it "
Does this mean that the iPod works fine but when you connect the iPod to your computer iTunes does not see - your iPod?
    - Have you tried:
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Device not recognized in iTunes for Mac OS X
    - If you really have OSX 10.6.x (not 10.5.8 as stated) try:
Mac OS X v10.6 or later: iOS device not recognized in iTunes after restart
    - Have you tried another cable and USB port?
    - If the iPod is not working then there are other things to try.
