Ipod cannot be restored because of unknown problem (Error 1437)"

One day when I was listening my ipod when I pass the other song ipod screen freeze and I reset it and when its open all the songs and videos are gone Then I connect it to my laptop and I took the Error says "iTunes has detected an iPod that appears to be corrupted" When I try to restore it through itunes, I take an error message says "ipod cannot be restored because of unknown problem (Error 1437)" And the ipod is not recognised in itunes after this message..Then I searched the help files; I updated my itunes to the latest version, also restart my computer and change the usb port Im trying.. Also tried to update the serial control drivers but nothing's changed..One time I tried to do it in safe mode.. Nothings Changes... I everything I found in apple help files.. I see lots of unanswered questions in many months but Please HELP

Well it could be dead forever or you might just need some simple repairs. The problem i have seen in some is that when dropped the hard drive either comes loose (easy to fix) or gets killed (little more expensive).
There could be other problems but i have seen those problems more often than something drastic like the whole board dieing.

Go to your computer's System Tray and try ejecting.  If you can't eject, there is an application that is trying to access your iPod.
Go to http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653.aspx and download ProcessExplorer.
Go to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555665 and follow the instructions under Resolution.
Note that this is a good, general process any time you can't access any file.
In my case an update to RealPlayer installed a program called RecordingManager that was accessing my iPod.

  • HT1339 I lost all my songs on ipod when my mom plugged her ipod into my computer. I tried to restore it but it says it cannot be restored because it is in use by another application. What do I do now? help! I still have all my songs in my itunes library

I lost all my ipod songs when my mom plugged her exact same ipod (5th generation nano) into my computer. She did not get my songs on hers but somehow I lost mine. I tried the five R's and evrything I could find online. I cannot get the songs from my iTunes library back on my ipod. I get a message that says. "Gina's ipod cannot be restored because it is being used in another application." Please help me

Why do you need to restore your iPod to resync your content back over to it from your iTunes library? You should just be able to configure the content to sync to your device as you did before this problem occurred.

  • Error Message "Ipod cannot be restored (1418)"

    Hi,
Yesterday my Ipod Shuffle which I already have for over a year, started blinking an orange and a green light. I never experienced this before, and when I connected my Ipod Shuffle to my computer it said (translated from dutch): "iTunes found an iPod that is most likely damaged. It is possible that you need to restore this iPod before you can use it with windows."
Well so I click restore in iTunes.. after a while it says "The Ipod cannot be restored. An unknown error occured. (1418)" Translated from dutch.
Does anyone knows a solution for this problem, I'd really appreciate it cos I use my iPod every day and my day doesn't gets any better without it.
    Thanks a lot!
    Reg,
    Me.
    My warranty's expired btw.

    Hi julianrood!
Haev you tried the solution someone found in this post? -> A possible solution for errors 1417 and 1418
Also, in this same forum, have you tried checking out this possibility? -> When getting error 1418, try USB port in the back

    Update Server
    Try:

  • HT1296 Have a problem with syncing. I get this message: The ipod Bill's Ipod" cannot be synced because there is not enough space to hold all of the items in the iTunes library (additional 2.4GB required) I don't understand as I have much more space than 2

I recently ran into a problem with syncing my ipod touch to itunes on my Windows 7 pc. It had previously been synced to my older laptop
and I wanted to change to my newer Windows 7 laptop's itunes library that I had already been syncing with.
Anyway, I started seeing this message that prevents my from syncing:
The iPod "Bill's iPod" cannot be synced because there is not enough free space to hold all of the items in the iTunes library
    (additional 2.48 GB required)
Not sure if it is talking about my iPod free space or my PC itunes library free space. Either way I have 11.0 GB free space available
on my iPod and 412 GB free space available on my Windows 7 PC.
How do I handle this problem?   Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Thanks

It is saying that the iPod does not have enough free storage to sync all the items yu have selected to sync to the iPod. You need 2.48 GB more free on the iPod. You need either to select less to sync or delete some content form the iPod.

  • My iPod cannot be synced because the required file could not be found.  How do I fix this problem?

Peace.  My name is Free.  Thanks in advance for any help u can offer.  My iPod cannot be synced because the required file could not be found.  How do I fix this problem?

    Hi antiklady,
I see that you may be having an issue with compatibility of iTunes when connecting your iOS device. This sort of issue can arise if you have two versions of iTunes installed on your computer, which I feel may be the case. Here is an article that can tell you how to identify the version of iTunes that you have open:
iTunes: How to find which version you are using - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201521
If the version of iTunes that is opened is not the version you are required to use for the iOS device in question, try searching through your computer or applications folder to see if there may be two versions of iTunes installed on your computer. Then, uninstall the version that is incompatible using these steps:
Remove and reinstall iTunes and related software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT1923
Take care, and thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities.
