IPod cannot be synced error (-39) when trying to sync pictures to IPod Nano

I have an iPod Nano that will sync music perfectly. When I try to sync Pictures I get a dialog box that says...
The iPod "xxxx" cannot be synced. An unknown error occurred (-39).
If I uncheck the "Sync photos from... button the sync will then work. I tested this with just a single picture form my iPhoto library so I don't think its an iPhoto issue.
Anyone have any ideas?

I have the same issue with 2 Apple TVs and an iPhone. Get the message every time I try to sync photos. This link:

seems to indicate it is some corrupt file or something. Not sure what to look for though.

Hello everyone,
lately I have been having some issues when trying to download pictures from my iphone to my iphoto library. Whenever I try to do so this message pops up "The following file could not be imported. The file is in an unrecognized format." Would anyone happen to know why this is happening? I was always able to transfer my pictures from my phone to my laptop before, so I don't know why this is happening now.

if you look at the error message - is the filename mentioned? What kind of file is it? A JPEG? A video?

Network authentication failed error message when trying to send picture messages

I have a family member who is trying to send picture messages from Dubois, WY. Verizon's map shows that Dubois is in the extended enhanced services area. I am guessing that this may be one of those instances where the coverage map is not 100% accurate. Try dialing *228 send and option 2 to update the PRL on the phone. Updating the PRL or Preferred Roaming List, ensures the phone is getting the best service possible.

Error message when trying to put pictures on my I-Pod

When I try to put pictures on my I-Pod, I get an error message "The file "dad.jpg" cannot be imported because it does not appear to be a valid exported file. This happens no matter which pictures I try to put on.

I am trying to burn some wedding pictures to a blank dvd rw. I keep getting an error message that says the drive and the disc can't communicate. I have run a repair disc and repair disc permissions, restarted my laptop, and still get the error. What else can I do?

Try a couple folders up - a parent folder's permissions can cause problems with a child subfolder.
And don't just rely on the read-only box. Go to c/users/username/music, right-click and get permissions, go to the security tab and make sure your username has full control and ownership.

If the file was not originally from iTunes, you'll need to redownload it from it's original source or rerip it from the CD. Files can sometimes go bad and become corrupted. As to how or why that happens, there are a number of ways.
What format are the problematic tracks in? Have you tried converting them to another format in iTunes?

When I start my computer I get a "AppleSyncNotifier.exe Entry Point Not Found message. I also get an error message when trying to sync with iTunes that a backup session cannot be started. How do I fix this?

In the last few days when I start my computer, I get a box that opens with "AppleSyncNotifier.exe" Entry Point Not Found in the title.
It says: "The procedure entry point sqlite3_wal_checkpoint could not be located in the dynamic link library SQlite3.dll.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes and still get an error message when trying to sync my phone with iTunes

The last time I tried to sync my phone (iPhone 3G S) with iTunes, everything seemed to freeze up at Stage 4 of the sync process.

With Windows Explorer, navigate to your C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support folder.
Copy the SQLite3.dll that you should find there, navigate to the nearby Mobile Device Support folder, and Paste it in there also.
Reboot and see if all is well
In case that your OS is Windows 7 (64 bit)
1. Open windows explorer, go to location C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
2. Copy file "SQLite3.dll"
3. Open new windows explorer, to to location C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support
4. Paste file "SQLite3.dll" to the location.
5. Reboot your computer, it should not display that message, it should be clear.

Error messages when trying to sync large files.

My 8GB Touch seems to have problems syncing large files, namely movies. I get at least one of these three error messages when trying to sync:
The iPod cannot be synced. The required disk cannot be found.
Attempting to copy to the disk failed. The device is not connected.
Attempting to copy to the disk failed. The disk could not be read from or written to.
It also isn't recognized in My Computer under Removable Storage. Any solutions to this problem? I'd really like to get my movies and TV shows synced.
I have a 30GB iPod video that works just fine.

I have been getting the same error as well, but I have 2 friends that own the same exact iPod touch model, and they don't have problems transferring 14 gigs in one session. If apple doesn't have a solution, I would recommend sending it in for repair, because it's an extremely annoying error that seems to not have any solution. The same thing happens on my brand new iMac as well.

Hi All
My Ipod nano gets unknown error -48 when trying to restore and download the software update. Specifcally, when I connect my ipod, I get a message saying itunes cannot access the ipod and that I should restore it. I go the the ipod tab, hit the restore button and the download begins (approx 16mb). The download completes, and then I get this message :
There was a problem downloading the ipod software for the ipod "ipod". An unknown error occurred (-48).
Please help !!!!!
